Drabble #1 on topic #64: Nap

Percy yawned while having tea along with his parents.

“Percy, dear, why don’t you take a nap?” His mother suggested.

“A nap? I got much more important things than sleep when I’m not supposed to” Percy shot back at her. “Like do the correct work for the Ministry” he said glaring at his father.

He took another biscuit before storming up the stairs heading towards his room. He sat down on his desk and started to fill out forms. He yawned again. “I won’t fall asleep” he stated.

Without knowing it his face fell on his books, sleeping soundly. (100)

Percy entered the library and walked between the books. He found other students speaking loudly. “Shh!” He hissed at them angrily. He picked out a thick book, and opened to the index. (32)

“ Parseltongue… Parseltongue…” He mumbled looking through the main index. “Page 186” he said while flipping to that page. He leaned on the bookshelf and read its definition. (60)

‘Its Just a way to communicate with snakes?’ He thought. He got up and put the book back angrily. “I thought it was some type of mortal combat or something I could use to beat my brothers..” he mumbled as he exited the library. (104)

Percy stormed up to his bedroom; his brothers had played a nasty trick on him yet again. He had plants growing out of his ginger hair, a hex he would’ve never thought of. (33)

He pointed his wand at his own hair and muttered a spell to get rid of the plants. They stopped moving, but they didn’t leave his head. Instead, they fell in front of his face forbidding him to see.(72)

He took scissors off his desk and furiously cut the plants.. and some chucks of his hair as well.

“Bloody plants, bloody twins, bloody Herbology” he muttered furiously. (100)

Percy organized his books in order of color, thickness, height, and subject, yet he still wasn’t happy with his bookcase. He took out all of his books again, there was something missing. Maybe he should try organizing them by the subjects in order of his classes! (46)

He searched for his Potions textbook, then History of Magic, then Care of Magical Creatures. He looked around, he couldn’t find that textbook. Where was it? He searched on his desk, then under his bed and found it. He kissed it and put it away. No book was going to get away from him. (100)

As Percy patrolled the hallways, normal Prefect work, he spotted two students snogging. “Hey!” he yelled out. “50 points from both of your houses! And detention! Go to your common rooms now!” He demanded furiously. He watched them run off scared, and Percy looked quite satisfied. (46)

“How people go around just kissing each other in the middle of the hallway? Just showing their disgusting, self-absorbed, sweet, tender love..” He stopped in the middle of the hallways. Maybe some day he’d be able to kiss a pretty girl. He shook his head, “Work comes first. Before any girl” he said determined. (100)

Ron munched on some licorice wands, while stuffing his face with Chocolate frogs. Percy stared at Ron in disgust.

“That stuff is full of sugar; couldn’t you find something healthier to eat?” Percy asked.

“Huh? Thish fuff ish goosh” Ron managed to say spitting all over the table. Percy rolled his eyes at his brother, disgusted. (56)

Percy couldn’t help but to be tempted by Ron’s chocolate. When Ron left the room Percy eyed the candy. He threw himself on it and started to eat. Ron pointed his wand at Percy. “Got a bit of a Sweet Tooth eh?” he said maliciously.(101)

Percy worked alone in his room, in complete silence. He put his pencil down for a moment. It was quiet. Too quiet. He put on a tape, just so he wouldn’t feel insecure. Immediately, he understood what had gone wrong. The most annoying and loud Yodel was recorded over his favorite tape. He stared at the stereo in awe.

He took the tape and threw it out the window, just for it to land on his mother’s head.

“Sorry mum..” he mumbled, looking in out the window in horror. This was the twins work, would they ever leave him alone? (100)

Percy sat in the kitchen at midnight, drumming his fingers on the table. He didn’t have any lights on, he needed no lights. He heard footsteps in the living room and grinned.

“Do you think anyone will notice we took the Ford Anglia?” Fred whispered.

“Of course not, we are smart enough not to get caught” George said in a hushed voice. (62)

Percy turned on the light, just in time to see his brother’s horror. They hadn’t expected anyone to notice the car was gone; but Percy had, and he could use this against them.

“Busted.” He said smiling evilly. (100)

Percy sat at the dinner table, ready to eat anything his mother served. He was starving; he had been in his room working all day.

“Chicken anybody?” Mrs. Weasley asked her husband and sons. (34)

Percy immediately held out his plate, and started to eat his chicken. The perfectly seasoned, tender chicken; he savored every bite. He wondered how an animal could grow up to be so deliciously perfect. Maybe they had fed it Paprika to make it taste better. (79)

He wondered for a few minutes, wanting more chicken. Then quickly snapped out of it, and took another bite smiling happily. (100)

Percy sat alone in his room, he was alone for once. He had left the burrow and his parents, he didn’t believe their words. Voldemort wasn’t back; there was no way he could be. He knew the minister of magic was right, he had to be. (46)

He looked out the window while he lay on his bed. He knew he would miss his parents, he just couldn’t move out and live without her mother. Sure, he had always wanted to get away from them, but not when they were mad at him. He sighed, wondering what would happen to him. (100)

Percy put his books down on his desk, and looked around his room. He felt a shiver go down his spine, and noticed there was something missing. He opened the second drawer of his night table, they weren’t there! He opened the first drawer, then the third, still no sign. (50)

“Where are they?!” He asked desperately. Finally, he remembered he had packed them ready for Hogwarts. He opened his trunk, and there he found all his socks. He picked a pair up, and patted it.

“What would I ever do without socks?” He asked out loud, while slipping them on. (100)

Percy leaned his head into his Muggle Studies textbook and yawned. How could this have been his father’s favorite subject? Muggles weren’t all that interesting, and the assignments given in this class weren’t that good either.

He wondered if he needed Muggle Studies to work in the ministry. It probably depended on the area he was working in. He smirked, he would be perfect for minister of magic. (68)

“Mr. Weasley? I’m sure you know this” The professor said grinning.

“Uh.. the phone?” Percy dared to guess.

“Well done Percy! You definitely know what you are doing!” The professor said proudly. (100)

Percy patrolled down the hallways peacefully doing his usual Prefect work before he started to hear chanting. He approached the place where the sound came from, to make out what they were saying.

“…Fight! Fight! Fight!” (36)

Percy started to run down the hallways, where he met a crowd around two Hufflepuff boys.

“Split it up!” Percy yelled out attempting to split the boys up. “20 points from the both of you!”

Percy took both the boys by their neck and forced them to walk towards their Madam Sprout’s office. He smirked, he loved being able to have power over troublemakers. (100)
