Hello there! Most of you (okay, all of you) know me as lazykitty, of course. I'm writing these drabbles on my Ministry character, Roxanne Carter. They are from all different points of her life, from childhood to adulthood, depending on what fits the prompt best. So, here we go and I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: All elements in these drabbles that are recognizable from the Harry Potter novels belong to the wonderful J.K. Rowling, not me. Further more, anything else recognizable belongs to it's owner as well. The only thing that belongs to me is Roxanne Carter and her story. And, of course, any other RP characters you may recognize belong to their respective player.

45. Licorice Wand

*nom nom nom nom nom nom nom.*

The candy tasted so odd. Young Roxanne didn't even know how to describe it. Were her parents even sure it was candy? With the sweet contrasting with a slightly overwhelming bitterness, it sure didn't taste like other candies.* She wasn't sure if she even liked it or not. She didn't find it as completely repulsive as her brother did. He had spit it out almost *immediately. She, however, she had just swallowed hers and then sat, confused. *Maybe if she tried another...

"Mom, can I have another licorice wand?"

94. Allergic

"Ow! Momma, something just stung me!"

"Well, what was it, dear?"

"I don't know, but my arm's swelling up real big..."

Gloria took a look at Roxanne, just to make sure that she wasn't exaggerating , as children do. Sure enough, her arm was the size of a small watermelon. So, she was taken to the hospital. After four hours, the good doctor diagnosed her as being allergic to wasps, bees and hornets and gave her an anti-inflammatory potion. Of course, he reminded her and her parents that she had to be more careful, least she be stung in the neck.

25. Sorting Hat

The time that her parents had been preparing her for ever since she had gotten her Hogwarts letter had come. The Sorting Ceremony. When her turn came, she approached the sorting hat with some trepidation. After all, this ratty little hat would determine were she would spend the next seven years. She hoped it would be Slytherin, the house of her father and his father and so on (with a few mothers in there too, of course).

".....better be SLYTHERIN!"

"Yes!"

Roxanne blushed at having expressed that thought out loud and hurried over to the table with her new housemates.

36. Muggle

Muggle.

You know the meaning of the word and the way it used to be used. What you don't get is why this word still matters so much in the year 2049. Is it because, even though you're a pureblood, you choose to use muggle devices? Is that what bugs the bullies? Or are they just jealous of you because you're not afraid of such things? Yes, let's go with that. You see the muggles' brilliance (thanks to your parents, of course) and they can't and it makes them jealous. That's how your eleven year old brain rationalizes it.

79. Author's Choice- Mini Challenge #10 Cookie Craze

After her first day at her new job was over, Roxanne was ready to get the hell out of the Ministry. People seeming suspicious of her was not her idea of a good time. Coming home, opening the door of a cabinet and finding the cookies she had stashed was just what she needed. Sitting in her armchair and biting into one, she sighed contentedly, closed her eyes, and leaned her head back. Reaching into the bag for another, her hand scrapped bottom. She looked into the bag only to find that it was EMPTY!

"Agghhhhh!"

84. Angry

Roxanne felt extremely angry. She had the sinking feeling that her husband was cheating. Again. After the huge fight come break-up they'd had the last time, she was slightly shocked. Everyone had told her 'Once a cheater, always a cheater,' but nooo she'd believed him when he'd sworn that he'd changed. And now he'd made a fool out of her. That was something that she didn't take lightly. She started grabbing all his clothes and instead of packing them in bags, she tossed them out the window. Immature, perhaps, but it made her feel better.

49.Yule Ball

Tonight was the night of Roxanne's first Yule Ball. Glancing around the Great Hall, she could see that everything was done in shades of green, red, silver and gold. Ironically, the color that caught her eye the most was the gold. Gold tinsel mixed with silver covered the tables. A golden bowl held the punch for the event. A gold necklace given to her by her boyfriend of the week adorned her neck. And the gold pin on said boyfriend's dress robes was what caught her eye the most.

"Do you really have to wear that thing everywhere?"

56. Fight

Roxanne had finally overstepped the bounds. Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. What, with all her flirting and kissing boys and everything. As she stared down the business end of her best friend's wand, she tried to pled her case.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know he was your boyfriend! You never told anyone! I'm sorry!"

"That wouldn't have stopped you, and you know it! You can't help yourself!"

At that, Roxanne decided to simply walk away instead of cursing her ex friend in the face. She felt the girl's spell hit her shoulder as she turned around.

52. Bore

What a bore! The professor was just droning on and on about the wonders of Mark Twain and how he was just THE greatest humorist ever. Personally, Roxanne didn't find the guy that great. He wrote about the Southern backwoods of nowheresville, for Merlin's sake! Please, the only part of the South she was interested in was New Orleans. Now there was an interesting place. As the guy went on and on, Roxanne had to resist the urge to spell his mouth shut. Instead, she decided to put her head down on her desk and take a nap.

59. Ignore

Yes, Roxanne was happy with Konrad. Loved him, even. But for some reason, she just couldn't ignore the feelings that she was developing for one of her coworkers. Not anymore. It was a conundrum of pretty epic proportions. Not that she would be able to do anything about it ever, even if she wasn't seeing anyone. So, she just settled for sneaking looks across at his desk, hoping she hadn't been caught. Or, in other words, acting like a school girl. Not so great when one was a thirty-eight year old prosecutor for the British Ministry of Magic. Damn emotions.

93. Chicken

At five years old, Roxanne had never seen a live chicken before. Baked, fried, roasted, what have you, but never live. Her parents decided that it was time to change that. So, off to a family friend's farm it was. Where they were greeted by an extremely mean rooster. Who attacked poor Roxanne. Ever since, she has been afraid of live chickens. She has no problems eating them, though.

*Disclaimer: No chickens were harmed in the writing of this drabble. Though, why one would WANT to protect such a mean and delicious creature is beyond this writer. Really.*

74. X-tinguish

How does one extinguish a grease fire? Roxanne wondered as the flames leapt up from the pan. Connecting the dots in the wrong pattern, she decided to put it out the same way one would put out any other fire. By throwing water on it. Only, that made the fire bigger. What did she do now?!?!? Luckily, her roommate came home then and called the fire department.

By the time they showed up, the stove was a total loss. As the fireman explained how to properly contain a grease fire, she blushed. All she had wanted was some bacon!

86. Daring

Daring. Roxanne knew the meaning of that word. After all, it something her friends had always said she had in spades. But this, they would think was a little bit too far. Which meant she had to be very careful who she spent that one phone call on. Her parents, she had already ruled out. She didn't want the lecture tonight. Her brother was too young to be of any help. So, she sat, handcuffed, trying to figure out which of her friends would be quickest with the bail money but slowest with the chastisement. Merlin, protests DIDN'T work.....

61. Kiss

Roxanne's first kiss was nothing to write home about. Just her and some guy (see, she couldn't even remember his name!) in one of those rooms Hogwarts had that just seemed to crop up out of nowhere whenever one needed them.

Her second kiss was a little more special, considering that she had actually been seeing the guy for awhile. Well, that and he had taken her out for a really fancy meal first.

After her (well okay, she'd actually lost count by that point) however many kisses it was, she knew that this one was going to be forever.
