Drabble #26- Hogsmeade

Lily and James walked through the snow in Hogsmeade together. This date was to be a learning experience for both of them, but Lily felt strangely comfortable next to James. He slipped his hand into Lily’s and her cheeks went red. He stopped and held her face in his hands. "You're freezing." he said. Lily held the gaze of his sharp hazel eyes. "Let's go into the Three Broomsticks."

Lily allowed herself to be led by the hand into the warm pub, and to a booth in the back. James left and soon returned with two foaming mugs of butterbeer.

Drabble #27- Snowball

After two soothing mugs of butterbeer, Lily and James exited the pub. Snow was flying everywhere on the street, and it wasn't until Lily was hit in the back with a snowball, did she turn around and join in on the snowball fight.

Her target: James
Her mission: Snowball him until he calls uncle.

The battle was fierce, neither side gaining much ground before having to retreat again. Finally, out of breath and freezing from the wetness of the snow, Lily and James collapsed on the ground next to each other.

James put his arm around Lily, and she smiled.

Drabble #28- Chocolate

Lily and James returned to the common room late that night. After a quick peck on the cheek from James, Lily retired to the girls dormitories. She noticed that Mary was still awake, and sat on her bed.

"How did it go?" Mary asked as Lily got dressed for bed.

"Fine," Lily said, grinning. Mary rolled her eyes and lay down to go to sleep.

Once she had her pajamas on, she pulled out a bar of chocolate that James had bought her in Honeydukes and started munching it. She got half way through and decided to save the rest.

Drabble #29- Newspaper

Although Lily was hopelessly falling for James, she wasn't completely oblivious to the world around her. One bright day in March, she was sitting in the common room with the Daily Prophet open in front of her. But, she wasn't reading it.

Really, she was watching her friend Mary having an in depth conversation with a certain Sirius Black. Trying to hold back the giggles, she continued to watch them flirt with each other.

"What are you laughing at?" came a voice from behind her. Lily jumped. "James, you have got to stop doing that to me!" she cried indignantly.

Drabble #30- Divination

Although Lily had dropped Divination after her fourth year, she still stopped by to visit Professor Martina every once and a while.

After a lovely luncheon with her on a rainy Saturday, the Divination professor made an interesting remark. "Are you sure he's the one?" she asked, wide eyed.

Lily started. She hadn't ever mentioned James to Professor Martina before. "P..Perhaps," she stammered.

"Then go for it." the professor smiled. Lily sat mouth agape. What could she mean? She wondered. Remembering that Professor Martina was the Divination professor, she let the remark slide. It was nothing to worry about, right?

Drabble #31- Potions

Lily walked down to her Potions class with a jacket over her robes. Although it was the beginnings of spring, it still got very chilly in the dungeons. She walked through the door with some difficulty because of the bag of notes and books she was taking everywhere.

As she and Mary sat down, Mary whispered, "Why do you take that thing everywhere? It’s huge!"

"N.E.W.T.S., I have to get ready for N.E.W.T.S." she hissed as Professor Slughorn started the class. Lily glanced at James, just as Serverus Snape’s hand shot into the air. The couple burst into silent laughter.

Drabble #32- Care of Magical Creatures

Unicorns and Hippogriffs: How are they Similar? How are they Different?

It was a good title for an essay. But was it good enough to get and O on this N.E.W.T.? Lily pondered for a few moments, then squished up the parchment and burned it.

Investigating Similarities and Differences of Unicorns and Hippogriffs

Lily's brow furrowed as she threw that title away. It would have to be catchy but informative, she knew that much. Professor Kettleburn was rather tough when grading essays, and this was a N.E.W.T. essay. This essay would define whether or not she could be an auror.

Drabble #33- Defence Against the Dark Arts

Lily sat watching in anticipation as her classmates battled through the practical Defense Against the Dark Arts N.E.W.T. The test was an obstacle course filled with all kinds of perils including a nasty group of grindylows and a boggart. At the end, they were required to perform defensive spells on a dummy that had been conjured up by the professor.

James, Sirius, Remus and Peter emerged from the course virtually unscathed. But Mary, on the other hand, was out of breath and shaking when she finally got out. When it was Lily’s turn, she took out her wand, and entered.

Drabble #34- Arithmancy

A drop of sweat slid down Lily's forehead as she sat bent over her Arithmancy N.E.W.T. All of the numbers began to look blurry. She sat up and checked the time in the hourglass at the front of the classroom. There was about a half-hour of time left in it.

Sitting just in front of her, was Sirius Black. He was sitting with his feet on the desk and Lily could see that he had barely written anything on his exam sheet. She chuckled a little to herself and turned back to her own exam. Just a few more equations...

Drabble #35- History of Magic

Lily raced down the second floor corridor towards the stairs. She was rushing to get her first N.E.W.T. exam result. The History of Magic final hadn't been too terrible, but she was anxious to see how she had done.

Once she reached Professor Binns' office door, she stood calmly and let her breathing slow down, then knocked gently on the door.

"Come in," came the slow, monotonous voice of the only ghost teacher at Hogwarts.

“I was just wondering if I could…” Lily stopped as the professor held pointed to her exam sheet, which was sporting a large red O.

Drabble #36- Charms

Charms was definitely Lily's best subject. She had always loved it. Her wand was specially designed for it. Now, on her Charms N.E.W.T., Lily was flying through like a summer breeze.

At the end of her exam, Professor Flitwick approached her with a smile on his face. "I am pleased to tell you that you have achieved the highest score possible on this exam. I would be more than happy to recommend you to the Elite Charms Development Cooperation in Beijing, China, Miss Evans." he squeaked.

Lily glanced at James, “I think I’ll be sticking around here for a while.”

Drabble #37- Feast

The doors to the Great Hall opened with a bang. It was the end of the year feast and Lily was late. She came running through the now open doors with a stack of papers in her hand and a huge grin on her face. She ran to where James was sitting with Mary and Sirius. James grabbed her by the shoulders as she came close. "Whoa girl, slow down, take deep breaths" he said, smiling.

Lily did as he said, and then showed the papers to her friends. "O's!" she said between gasps. "All O’s on all my N.E.W.T.s!"

Drabble #38- Thestrals

Lily rested her head against the side of the carriage as she rode away from Hogwarts castle for the last time. Her time there had been great and she had learned so much, including exactly how she felt about a certain James Potter. She smiled as she thought of him.

Glancing ahead of her, she saw that the carriages were moving on there own, or so it seemed. She knew by now that they were pulled by amazing creatures called thestrals, and could only be seen by those who had witnessed death. Personally, Lily was glad she couldn't see them.

Drabble #39- Bore

Lily pulled her trunk along up the walkway towards her house. She was home. After a long year at Hogwarts, she was back in the Muggle world. When she knocked on the door, there was a muffled commotion inside the house, and the door opened a few moments later. Her mother and father gave her a great hug. She glanced into the house and noticed her younger sister, looking bored on the couch. Petunia had always hated the fact that Lily was a witch. Even though Lily was older than Petunia, she was teased all the same about her "abnormality".

Drabble #40- Room

Lily was in her old room reminiscing about before she left for Hogwarts over seven years ago. She was brought back from her thoughts as her mother walked into the room with an envelope and a started expression on her face. “An owl just flew through the front window and dropped this on my lap.” She handed the envelope to Lily. It held a piece of parchment with four simple words. ‘Look out your window’. Turning to her window, Lily saw James grinning up at her and waving from the front walk. She laughed and ran downstairs to greet him.

Drabble #41- Gape

Lily burst through the front doors and ran into James' arms. He grinned and kissed her forehead. Lily blushed as she turned to see her parents watching from the front doorway. Walking towards them, she said, "Um, this is James Potter. He's my, um, boyfriend." That still sounds strange, Lily thought.

Lily gaped at James as he stuck out his hand to her father and said, “Pleased to meet you, sir. It has been my greatest pleasure to date your daughter. If I could talk to you for a moment…” Lily just stared as the walked into the house together.

Drabble #42- Author's Choice: Ring

Walking with James in the park, Lily was thankful for the chilled breeze blowing through. James placed his arm around her shoulder as she shivered. They continued to walk in silence for a few minutes until they reached a bench. James motioned for Lily to sit down. She did and waited for him to do the same, and gasped when he got down on one knee next to her.

"I love you so much, Lily. I want to live with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?" He opened a ring box in front of her.

Drabble #43- Hoot

Oh, yes. Yes! A thousand times yes!" Lily yelled. She grabbed James around the neck and kissed him. When they finally broke apart, James hooted and Lily laughed hysterically. James grabbed her hand and gently placed the thin gold band around her finger. Lily smiled as the solitary diamond glinted in the dazzling sunlight.

As they were walking back to Lily’s house, James finally spoke up again. “That was what I had to talk to your father about earlier. I had to have his permission for your hand in marriage.” Lily smiled. She wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Drabble #44- Untie

Lily sat in her room, with the package wrapped in brown paper and a piece of twine sitting in her lap. How cliché that such a wonderful gift could be wrapped in such a plain way.

She slowly untied the twine and pulled the paper apart. Inside was a beautiful white dress with intricate embroidery and silver lace along the edges. She held her breath as she lifted it out of the paper. A few moments later, she stood in front of the full length mirror admiring her reflection. She would be Lily Marie Potter in just a few hours.

Drabble #45- Dress Robes

Lily walked slowly toward the front of the church, her eyes focused on one person alone. As James stood there in his dress robes, Lily couldn't help but smile, remembering how much she had despised him just last summer.

She smiled even wider when she saw the look on his face. The same goofy grin with his glasses askew just like always. His hair, although tamed somewhat, still stuck out in the usual places.

Lily stopped walking. She had reached the front of the church. The priest began his speech but Lily didn’t hear. She only had eyes for James.

Drabble #46- Dragonhide gloves

Lily knelt outside her new home with James. She pulled on her dragonhide gloves and began to dig holes. She placed seedlings in the holes and packed in the dirt around them. Making sure no Muggles were passing, she pointed her wand at the watering can and muttered an incantation. The watering can glowed gold for a moment, then turned back to rusty brown. As she watered the seedlings, leaves sprung from the ground which grew into thick stocks and eventually, red roses had sprung from brand new rosebushes. Satisfied with her work, Lily brushed herself off and went inside.

Drabble #47- Vex

As James stalked out of the room, Lily let out a great breath of air. Why had she ever thought that this marriage would work out? Why hadn't she foreseen that she would just continue to fight with him? That it would be just like old times? She knew he was trying to vex her on purpose.

As she tried to calm herself, she felt the heat leave her face. Remembering the hurt look on James' face as she began to retaliate to his antics, she felt suddenly guilty. She was going to have to try and make this work.

Drabble #48- Sweet Tooth

Recently, Lily had noticed her sweet tooth growing more and more prominent recently. She would crave chocolate one day, and apple pie the next. Today, she was shoveling chocolate chip cookie dough into her mouth like there was no tomorrow.

She heard the pop of an apparition just outside the front door. James was home. She rushed into the kitchen, threw her treat into the trash can and quickly washed her face off. She had just found the solution to her eating problem, if you could call it that.

"James," she said as he walked through the door. "I'm expecting."

Drabble #49- Quill

Lily picked up her quill and dipped it in her ink bottle. Touching it carefully to her parchment, she thought very carefully. Then, as if a light had turned on in her mind, she began writing furiously.

Lily was definitely wary of keeping a baby book. She had been so worried about if her new life with James would work out given the state of things. Professor Dumbledore had just informed them of a You-know-who resistance called the Order of the Phoenix, and they had willingly joined. Now, with a child on the way, she was beginning to regret it.

Drabble #50- Cauldron

Lily looked up from the eggnog in her cauldron. She smiled at James. Looking around the room, she saw Frank and Alice Longbottom, Albus and Aberforth Dumbledore, Dedalus Diggle, Marlene McKinnon, Emmeline Vance, Remus Lupin, Benjy Fenwick, Edgar Bones, Sturgis Podmore, Caradoc Dearborn, Rubeus Hagrid, Elphias Doge, Gideon and Fabian Prewett, Alastor Moody, Dorcas Meadowes, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew. The entire Order of the Phoenix had gotten together at Godric's Hollow for a special Christmas celebration.

Lily started passing out eggnog with an uneasy feeling in her stomach. How could they be celebrating when there was so much danger?
