Barty sighed. It was his first lesson of his 7th year. Herbology. Not only did he hate it but his father had forced him to study it. “I’ll get my revenge on you father,” he thought, “Well after I have joined the Dark Lord.” He smiled to himself.
“Welcome 7th years,” the Herbology professor said, “Hurry into the greenhouse, we have work to do.”
Barty trudged along behind everyone else. On time wasn’t usually his style. But neither was doing what the teacher said.
“Right today we shall be feeding the Venomous Tentacular.”
Finally something with his kind of style.

“Die you unworthy muggle,” Barty laughed, “Die. Ha ha!”
He pointed his wand and fired the infamous unforgivable at a poor muggle. They collapsed to the floor in a flash of green light. Barty pushed up his sleeve drew a line next to several others, just below a large dark mark.
“That’s fifteen muggles this summer,” he laughed manically.
He apparated back to Hogsmeade, ready for his final year. During the summer he had become a member of Lord Voldemort’s loyal Death Eaters. He looked up at the usual horseless carriages.
“What the…” he stared.
They were horseless no more.

Fudge entered the room. Barty was sitting, waiting. With Minerva McGonagall at his side.
“Here he is Minister. The named Death Eater,” McGonagall said.
“Very well you may leave, Minerva.”
McGonagall left, and a dark, hooded creature entered.
“No no. Keep that thing away from me,” Barty screamed.
“It is for my protection Bartemius,” Fudge smiled, “You did kill your father and many others. What is stopping you killing me?”
“The fact that I am wandless and that you have a wand,” Barty sneered.
The thing swooped.
“Noooooooo” Barty went silent.
Fudge walked out of the room.
“He’s been kissed.”

Barty rubbed his eyes sleepily.
“Yodelayeehoo”
“Who is that?” he muttered groggily, he wasn’t a morning person.
“Yodelayeehoo”
“Father tell that person to shut up,” he shouted, “I would like to sleep before I go to school. The muggles will laugh at me if I fall asleep.”
There was silence.
“Yodelayeehoo”
“FATHER”
He looked out his bedroom window to see his father yodelling with another person.
“MOTHER. Father’s singing,” Barty shouted, “I want to sleep.”
He slumped back down into the bed. He placed the pillow over his head and drifted back off to sleep. He hated his father.

With the help of Wormtail, Barty dragged a cauldron into his living room.
“Just like our Master said Wormtail,” Barty sneered.
“Y…yes…Barty,” Wormtail stuttered. He was scared of this boy.
“It will take a month to prepare. And I want it perfect. No mistakes, or you are dead,” Barty smiled, sarcastically.
“Yes I know. You must help as well,” Wormtail said, bravely.
“And I will. I know my job in this and you are unworthy to tell me what to do. For I am the Dark Lord’s most loyal.”
One by one they dropped the ingredients into the black cauldron.

Barty giggled like a little boy. “Hurry up Wormtail. I want to make this potion quickly. So I can get to Hogwarts again.”
Wormtail flittered along, his body hunched. He had so much riding on this potion. Barty would kill him, the Dark Lord would kill him.
Finally it was finished.
Barty laughed manically, drinking a goblet full.
His body shuddered and stretched. His brown hair turned grey. He was old.
“Yes. Wormtail. It is complete. I didn’t know you made potions.” He laughed, his voice very much lower. He had become Alastor ‘Mad-Eye’ Moody. The Polyjuice Potion had worked.

Barty kicked the trunk in his office. “A Yule Ball?”
Dumbledore had announced that they would be having a yule ball, therefore Barty would have to dance.
“Lets hope Moody can dance,” he laughed.
He loved being a spy. And Potter was playing into his hands.
“I haven’t got any,” he mimicked Harry’s pathetic voice.
Barty laughed viciously.
“You won’t have any when I am through with you.”
He sighed, running his fingers through his brown hair.
“Well that is after this stupid Ball.”
He kicked the trunk again, and took a swig of the polyjuice potion.
“Arg…bleuch…arghhhh” he moaned.

Barty walked down to the Great Hall. Clomp clomp clomp.
“Bloody false leg,” Barty thought, “How can Moody live with this everyday?”
He spotted pathetic Harry Potter standing with Ronald Weasley.
“What is he wearing?” Barty snickered to himself.
“Nice dress robes Weasley,” he said aloud, “They bring out the colour of your eyes.”
Ron gave the Professor an evil glare.
Barty walked away. Clomp clomp clomp.
“Well we can’t all wear Armani Dress Robes,” he laughed, “But we could at least make an effort.”
Barty headed in to the Great Hall, the ice covered decorations shining.
“Disgusting” he muttered.

Barty sheepishly walked into class.
“Hi I’m Barty,” he smiled, hoping to get to know the children.
“You’re a poo poo head,” one of the boys said before kicking him in the shins.
Barty cried, before smacking the boy in the face.
“Bartemius,” a woman shouted, “We do not tolerate that behaviour. Go and sit in the corner.”
“He started it” he replied, ‘accidentally’ causing the woman to come out in a rash.
“What has happened there?” she whimpered, “To the corner now.”
The small, brown-haired five year old sat in the corner. He knew he would never like muggles.

“Hi. I’m Bartemius Crouch,” Barty purred at an older girl.
“I’m Lily Evans,” she smiled.
“And I am James Potter. Her boyfriend,” he huffed.
“I…I wasn’t doing anything,” Barty slumped.
“Good,” James smirked.
“Snivelly at 10 o’clock,” Sirius muttered in James’ ear.
James and Sirius disappeared from view.
“So he’s your boyfriend?” Barty frowned.
“No he just hopes he is,” Lily laughed.
“So…fancy joining me one time, to er explore?” he smiled.
SLAP
Lily slapped him across the face.
“What do you think I am?” she screamed.
“I was just asking,” Barty shied away in shock, “That’s a no then?”

For Bethany...she chose the number
“Right today we are going to practise what we have learnt,” announced McGonagall.
Barty sniggered, “Nothing then.”
“No Mr Crouch. You are going to duel with the person standing next to you. Taking it in turns to disarm each other.”
“But we only know one spell,” he muttered.
“Then you should be good at it.”
They split up into pairs and practised the spell. Barty got pretty good at it. Well he could disarm. Just not his partner opposite.
“EXPELLIARMUS” he yelled, firing it at his partner.
The wand flew out of their hand.
“Yes” Barty cheered “I did it”.
