34. Parseltongue

Oliver and Cordelia were automatic best friends from the moment they met. And now that they’d been at school together for four months, they spent all of their time together.

After doing everything there was to do, the two of them began talking about different stories they’d heard about the school. Soon enough, Cordy brought up the story of the Chamber of Secrets.

In the middle of her story, Ollie got a brilliant idea and interrupted her.

“We should try and speak parseltongue! Hasssseeeee-eeeehhssssseeeeee.”

Cordy couldn’t hold in her laughter and she laughed so much she rolled off the couch.

94. Allergic

“Timmy, you gotta try these!”

Never in his life did he think to dip fruit in chocolate, but after he ate a chocolate covered strawberry, he was sold.

Timmy playfully rolled her eyes and picked up one of the fruit.

“You’re such a nerd. I can’t believe you didn’t know about this. I just want the chocolate though.”

Ollie stuck his tongue out at her and watched and she ate the chocolate, revealing the fruit she’d grabbed was a pear.

“Timmy, no!”

As quickly as he could, he swatted the pear out of her hand.

“I just saved your life….”

48. Leprechaun

Ollie just didn’t understand why Timmy was taller than him. It wasn’t fair.

And while Timila had never bragged about it, every time he was around her, he felt like a munchkin from The Wizard of Oz. But if he had learned anything at all after being her brother, it was to laugh at himself, and this Halloween he would do just that.

Standing by the Great Hall in his costume for their birthday breakfast, he ignored the people laughing as they walked by.

Finally, from the top of the steps, she spotted him and burst out laughing.

“A LEPRECHAUN?!”

90. Present

Valentine’s Day. The day Ollie was finally going to get to see Cordy again!

Oliver had planned asking her to be his girlfriend in the summer, once school was out of the way, however, a certain Darcy girl had yelled at him to just do it and now he didn’t know what to do.

As he walked over to Hogsmeade to meet up with his bestest best friend, he considered the pros and cons of asking today. The pros won.

By the time he was at Madam Puddifoot’s, he’d made his decision. He just hoped it was a good one.

99. Trunk

It wasn’t news that Ollie was terrible at hide-and-seek, but today things were going to change.

Now that he and Tim had charmed trunks and just about anything could fit in them, he figured he could too. He hadn’t been there long when he fell asleep on his clothes.

About an hour later, the top of the trunk opened up and Timmy, who seemed to be in a frenzy, was screaming across the house that she’d found him.

And then his mum ran into the room and Oliver thought he’d never seen her so scared.

“Oliver, you are so grounded!”

97. Dictionary

‘The dictionary defines love as an intense feeling of deep affection.'

As soon as Ollie finished writing that, he realized how corny it sounded and crumbled up the sheet of paper. He was trying to figure out the how to tell her he loved her -- more than a friend -- but he couldn’t find the right words.

Flipping through his dictionary, he searched the word ‘affection’ and rolled his eyes at what he read.

‘A gentle feeling of fondness or liking.’

Oliver groaned and closed the dictionary. Why wasn’t there a class that taught students how to talk about their feelings???

41. Thestrals

Oliver and a fellow classmate stood next to the carriages and watched as various students went up to pet what he could not see. The only reason he knew they existed was because they had learned about them in Care of Magical Creatures.

“Can you see them?”

Ollie looked at Brian curiously, waiting for an answer. After what felt like ages, the boy nodded and slowly and sighed. That was definitely not the answer Oliver had been expecting.

“Oh...I’m really sorry...that you had to go through that.”

As long as he couldn’t see them himself, he’d be grateful.

40. Spell

Kali pulled Oliver to the dance floor and he gladly danced along, not worrying about who was looking. After all, it was Halloween. He was happy. ‘

And just as he thought that it almost felt like Kali put a spell on him (though he knew she hadn’t), the song came on.

Oliver was never one to sing, but tonight was his birthday, so he figured there was no reason not to.

“I put a spell on yoooouuu…”

He made sure to point at her, so she’d know he was singing to her, and Kali sang along.

“...and noooow you’re miiiiine!”

12. Charms

After just a few classes, Oliver already knew what his favorite class was. He never thought it would happen in his first year at Hogwarts, and yet….

As the professor gave out directions for that day’s lesson, Ollie happily wrote down everything being said and went over the wand movements in his head.

His mind wandered from that to wondering if the professor loved what he did. Oliver was sure if he’d ever taught Charms, he’d love it. But as of right now, he was planning on being a real life Superman, so teaching was definitely out of the question.

87. Staircase

Ollie and Cordy had done just about everything there was to do at Hogwarts, and now they needed something new to do. It was the weekend and they needed a break from school.

“It’ll be like tag but on the staircases. Even if you get close, the staircase could move at any time. Got it?”

While she had been here for three years already, this was still his first, and he wasn’t sure if he could manage running through the stairs without falling, but it was worth the risk.

“Okay, so TAG YOU’RE IT!”

And with that, he was off.

82. Careful

For some reason, Tim had decided to give Ollie a gift, and he was far more excited than he thought he’d be. On birthdays and things, it was normal to expect a gift, but a surprise gift was a new level of excitement.

“Okay, just be careful with it.”

He watched as his sister reached into her backpack and pulled out what seemed to be a little green twig. Once it was right in front of his face, he realized it was a bowtruckle.

Holding his hand out, he waited for the creature to climb onto his hand.

“Thank you!”

85. Snappish

Every day, Ollie promised himself he’d be better, and every day when he was getting ready for sleep, he realized he hadn’t succeeded. He couldn’t figure out what exactly was wrong with him, but so many things annoyed him throughout the days and he was continuously snapping at people.

The only thing that helped Ollie was the idea that the school term was almost over. Maybe once he was home, he’d talk to his mum about his problem. It could just be stress from school, but he didn’t want to be like this forever. He wanted to be nice again.

27. Owl

Oliver ran to the kitchen from the backyard, more excited than he’d ever been in his life. Timmy and Aria just stared at Oliver jumping up and down, waiting for some sort of an explanation.

“TIMMYYYY MUUUM THE OWLS ARE FINALLY HERE!!!!”

Timmy’s eyes went wide and she ran out of the kitchen and over to the backyard to see if it was true. Oliver pulled on his mum’s arm, trying to rush her to the backyard so she could see the owls as well. Not long later, there was a high pitched squeal.

“OUR HOGWARTS LETTERS ARE FINALLY HEEEERE!”

86. Daring

Oliver had never been the daring type, but if someone else was willing to take part in something with him, he was that much more likely to do it. And so when Cordy suggested they jump off the cliff in Porto Venere together, he found it hard to say no.

“We’ll jump on three, okay? And no letting go of each other.”

He took a deep breath and nodded. Then together, they walked up to the edge and looked down. It was definitely farther than he expected but he was with Cordy, so it was worth it.

“One...two…….three!”

22. Kneazle

After hearing so much about it, Oliver and Timila were finally seeing the amazing Diagon Alley, and they were loving every minute of it. There were so many cool witches and wizards walking around. They’d even gotten a glimpse at someone getting their wand!

As they walked past the pet shop, the twins tiptoed to look through the window. And while there was plenty to look at, a weird looking cat caught Oliver’s eye.

“Mum, look at that cat! How come it looks funny?”

He thought it was so weird, he couldn’t help but laugh.

“That’s just a kneazle, sweetie.”

39. Duel

“Okay, students, raise your wands.”

Ollie shakily rose his wand and cringed a little when he heard the students around him laugh. Was it his fault he was nervous?? He had no idea why he’d let anyone convince him into joining the dueling club, he hated fighting in any way, shape, or form. They made him nervous and when he was nervous, his brain would freeze up and what use was that?

“Ready...set...DUEL!”

Oliver slowly opened his eyes and looked around to see that he was laying flat on the ground. Dueling was definitely not for him.

24. House elf

Ollie just didn’t understand why his mum always made them do so many chores. It was Summer and he wanted to play.

Not long after he had started cleaning, he grew bored and decided to walk across the hall to see what Timmy was doing, only to find her on the floor, playing with her toys.

He sat down next to her and looked around at the mess in her room.

“Do you think if we ask mum to hire a house elf again, she’ll finally say yes?”

Timila looked up from her toys and shook her head.

“No way.”

25. Sorting Hat

Smiling at his fellow housemates, Oliver ran over and sat down at the Slytherin House table, but there was no time for celebrations because he needed to see where his twin sister, Timila, would be sorted.

He waited patiently, never looking away from Timmy and the sorting hat. He’d never been away from her for more than a few hours so she had to get placed into the same house as him.

“LOOKS LIKE...GRYFFINDOR!!!”

Almost simultaneously, both of them frowned. What was he going to do without his best friend around? He knew attending Hogwarts was a huge mistake.

33. Classroom

Almost a month had passed since Ollie’s fight with Cordy and he felt it was time to revisit their favorite place. He had assumed it was exactly as they’d left if, but when he opened the door to the abandoned classroom, it was as if they’d never been there.

The two of them had spent so much time setting it up to be their own haven at the school and now it was bare. The only thing left behind was an old desk.

If he hadn’t been sure of it before, Oliver was positive their friendship was definitely over now.

19. Wand

On the first official day of Spring, Ollie sat outside by the lake, waving his wand around, trying to practice everything he knew for the OWLs he’d have to take in a couple of months, but he kept getting distracted by his own thoughts.

He felt as though he’d been studying since the beginning of his fifth year and all he wanted to do now was lollygag.

Looking around, he made sure no one was looking and waved his wand to make bubbles of all sizes appear around him. Now this was definitely the way to spend a sunny day.

32. Common room

When Oliver wasn’t in class, he was spending most of his time studying in the library for the upcoming NEWTs. Now that his last year was really coming to an end, he realized he needed to take the studying thing seriously if he wanted to get into a decent wizarding university.

But today was not a day for studying. It was Sunday and all he wanted to do was lounge around in the common room, so he was doing just that. He’d taken up the biggest couch in the room and wasn’t getting up for anybody. Let the ‘me-time’ begin!

59. Ignore

“Louth, please don’t ignore me! I’m sorryyyyy!”

Ollie was laying on the floor, with his face as close to his pet bowtruckle as he could get.

“I promise I’ll bring you with me next time! I just forgot….”

Since Timmy had given Oliver his new pet, he’d never left Louth behind, but for whatever reason, he’d wasn’t thinking and he’d been rushing to meet Cordy and forgot. He was also gone all day, which made things much worse.

“Pleeeaaase forgive meeeee!”

Louth pouted and turned his back to Oliver. It didn’t seem like he was giving in any time soon.

6. Divination

The divination professor walked around the classroom, explaining something that was making Oliver feel completely discombobulated. In all honesty, he just wasn’t one to care much about the subject either. He had enough trouble figuring out his day-to-day schedule, there was no way he’d be able to handle the whole future. He was only thirteen years old, after all. Teens had enough going on what with school and ~romance~. If it was up to him, he’d switch out divination for a class that would teach him how to flirt with girls. That was definitely something he’d try his best at.

55. Egg on

Though he was half asleep by the lake, Ollie could still hear some commotion behind him. He was going to ignore it until he actually paid attention to some of what was being said and realized someone was being bullied. And to make matters worse, the bully’s lackeys were egging him on the entire time.

As quickly as he could, Oliver got up and stormed over to the younger group of boys, pulling out his wand on his way. He was definitely more a lover than a fighter, but he couldn’t just sit back and watch. This was too important.

71. Untie

Not only was Oliver extremely bored, he was fidgety too, and the fact that Brian was sleeping in front of him (instead of studying) didn’t make things better. And while Ollie wouldn’t normally have any issue taking a nap in the library, he just wasn’t tired enough today. He wanted to do something.

Getting onto the floor, he crawled under the table and over to Brian’s feet and began untying his friend’s shoelaces. As childish as he felt, Oliver was enjoying the thought of Brian almost falling over -- he’d never let his best friend hit the floor -- at some point.
