10. Arithmancy

Arithmancy was quite possibly his worst subject. He had tried telling Esme that several times, but as positive as she always was, she encouraged him to keep trying.

“I know this is your fifth year already, but I believe you can do it.”

Ollie couldn’t help but laugh at her positivity. It was sweet, but unrealistic really.

“If I can do it, then why don’t you tell me if I actually did this right?”

Esme happily looked over his work and beamed.

“You did it right!"

“....I did it??”

He couldn’t believe this. An actual miracle. Maybe Esme’s positivity was magical.

62. Amortentia

Oliver was sitting in the snake pit, minding his own business, reading his Charms book, when he heard a small group of girls across the room whispering (rather loudly). He wasn't trying to eavesdrop, he wasn't the type, but they seemed weirdly suspicious.

Trying his best to focus, he went back to reading his book but every so often a few words would reach his ears.

“What if…...and then we can…...LOVE POTION!”

He glanced at the girls but didn't recognize any of them. Someone was going to be in huge trouble. Ollie was just happy it wasn't him.

1. Herbology

Though Ollie normally sat next to someone from his own house in class, he decided to sit next to Tim so she could explain things a little differently than the herbology professor did.

While she was re-explaining something about bubotuber pus and how it helped acne, his mind wandered a bit to the future and it concerned him a little.

“Tim, do you think we’ll still be friends when we’re eighty years old?”

It was a random thought, but one worth interrupting her for. The two of them had already been through too much stuff.

“Yeah, I think we will.”

61. Kiss

“Okay, hold your arms out like we taught you with Barb, and I’ll place them there.”

Timila and Oliver’s newest baby siblings had been born and they were finally getting the chance to hold them. Another set of twins, just like them.

The older set of twins sat next to each other, more eager than ever, and Barb sat in their mother’s lap.

Finally, Jon picked up one baby and placed him in Ollie’s arms and then picked up the other and placed her in Timmy’s arms.

Ollie couldn’t help but smile and kiss the baby’s forehead.

“Hi, little brother.”

36. Muggle

On the first day of vacation, Oliver woke up early and went out for a run. Thankfully, everyone at home was still asleep.

Maybe he ran faster than normal this time or he had just been distracted, but before he knew it, he was in the city. Figuring he still had some time before he needed to head back home, he stopped into a cafe.

As soon as he entered the door, he nearly ran into someone waiting in line. How was the line so long at eight in the morning???

Clearly muggles relied on their coffee way too much.

60. Joke

Now that things between Ollie and Jon were settled, Ollie felt it would only be right to spend more time with the man. After all, he was his stepdad. Oliver just wasn’t sure how to spend time with him.

Oliver walked over to Jon in the kitchen and waited a bit before talking.

“Jon, do you like jokes?”

“Hey, of course I do. Got any good ones?”

Ollie smiled and nodded and then worked through his brain to find a really great one.

“How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?”

“....ten-tickles?” Jon laughed a little.

“...................................YEAH.”

13. Quidditch

Even though it was January and it was ridiculously gelid outside, Ollie didn’t care. He was going to play quidditch in the backyard with his dad and that was final. They had made plans for it the day before, and his dad had promised he wouldn’t forget, so he wouldn’t. A promise was a promise.

Oliver sat down and waited for over an hour but his dad never showed up...

Timmy sat down next to him and looked at him.

“Ollie? I can play with you if you want?”

He just gave her a sad smile and shook his head.

88. Sweet Tooth

Oliver was rolled up in a ball on the couch of the Slytherin common room, holding his cheek and groaning. A bowl of vanilla ice cream sat in front of him, slowly melting away.

He was about to yell for Cordy to come down from the girl’s dorms when he remembered they were no longer on speaking terms. How great.

“I hate my dumb sweet tooth!”

His hand still on his cheek, he slid off the couch and slowly made his way out of the common room and up to the infirmary. Surely they knew how to help with toothaches.

38. Patronus

He had heard how hard conjuring up a patronus would be, but Oliver didn't care. He would do anything to find out what in the world his was. Maybe he'd never actually need to use it, but being prepared never hurt.

After trying three different happy memories, Ollie had a scintilla of hope that this next memory would be the one.

Closing his eyes, he drew circles with his wand first and thought hard about the happy memory. He yelled out the incantation and opened his eyes to see nothing more than a string of silver.

Well, practice makes perfect.

43. Head[mistress]

Somehow, Oliver was late to class again. The only reason he even woke up was because his stomach was angry at him and growling louder than ever. As annoying as the growling was, Ollie was so grateful for it.

After getting dressed lightning fast, he ran out of the common room. He actually felt almost like a juggernaut, completely unstoppable. Or at least he was until he ran right into something.

Groaning loudly from the floor, Oliver rolled to his side to see that he’d run into Headmistress Hawthorne.

“Oh my gosh…I’M SO SORRY!”

Wasn’t that was just his luck?

49. Yule Ball

Oliver couldn’t believe he was actually going to a yule ball. He was just happy he had learned how to slow dance when he was little.

One of the best parts was that he’d asked Esme to go with him and she’d said yes! Going to something like this with her would actually make it fun.

He walked into the great hall and searched the room. Spotting her by the food table, talking to Juno, Ollie walked over to them, beaming.

“You both look amazing!”

He held his hand out to Esme and bowed a little.

“Care for a dance?”

26. Quill

“Why do people still use these things?”

Ollie kept dipping the quill in ink and scratching the paper over and over to see what would happen but...nothing happened. He looked up at his mum helplessly.

“You said all I had to do was dip it in the ink and write, but that’s what I’m doing and it isn’t working.”

His mum put Barb back in her crib and walked over to him.

“Maybe this quill is only meant for decoration? What do you want to use a quill for anyway, Ollie?”

He looked up at her and sighed.

“Becauseit’scool.”

28. Timeturner

Oliver couldn’t believe there was only a few months left of school. As much as he had always said he couldn’t wait for school to finish, he almost wanted to go back in time.

If Ollie had a timeturner, he could go back to his first day at Hogwarts with Timila. They had been so close back then. And he could go back to meeting Cordy and Brian and Esme and all of his other great friends. He was actually going to miss everything that had happened here.

He couldn’t even imagine what was going to happen in the future.

44. Ford Anglia

“It’s just like the Ford Anglia Ron Weasley crashed into the Whomping Willow!”

Oliver and Cordy had gone walking around London, spending time together, when he spotted the car and he immediately ran over to it.

“What if it’s the real one?!”

Cordy laughed and ran her hand over the hood of the car as Ollie peeked through the window, hoping to see something cool.

“Does it look magical somehow?”

Ollie pouted and shook his head.

“No...it’s just a muggle car.”

She took his hand and squeezed it lightly.

“One day, you can have your own flying car, okay?”

45. Licorice Wand

“I’M GONNA GET YOU.”

“Nooooo!!!”

Oliver and Barbara moved across the living room, using licorice wands as play swords. He had been spending a lot of time out of the house, and he had decided today was dedicated to Barb.

Before he knew it, Ollie found himself stuck in a corner with his little sister wagging her licorice wand in his face.

“I surrender, I surrender! You win!”

Barb cheered and jumped up and down.

“I finally beat you, Ollie! I’m the best.”

When she wasn’t looking, he reached up and stole her licorice wand and took a big bite.

56. Fight

After tossing and turning in bed for over an hour, Oliver decided ice cream would be the only thing that could help him.

He made his way over to the kitchens, thinking about the fight he was in with Timila right now. They had been fighting a lot recently, and it was driving him crazy. Once upon a time, they’d been best friends.

Honestly, he didn’t know why they were in a fight. He just felt like he couldn’t talk to her and she was always mad at him….

All he wanted was for things to go back to normal.

47. Portkey

Oliver set the sun hat onto the ground in their backyard and stepped back to stand next to Timila.

“You think we did it right?”

Timila shrugged and looked at him.

“There’s only one way to find out, right?”

Ollie smiled a little and nodded. Both of them stepped up to the hat and put their hands on it, hoping they managed to turn it into a portkey on their own.

As soon as his hand touched the hat, Ollie shut his eyes and waited for something, anything to happen. Eventually, he opened his eyes.

“I don’t think it works.”

100. Homework

Taking a nap in the library wasn’t exactly what he had planned to do for the day, but Ollie had been staring at his Divination book for a good ten minutes and the words just weren’t reaching his brain.

Sure, he had homework due for all of his classes, but Oliver seemed to remember someone saying sleep was the most important thing for a person.

By the time he woke up, he looked around the library and noticed the librarian going around letting people know it was closing time. So much for getting homework done.

“Guess I’ll try again tomorrow.”

37. Animagus

Brian and Oliver were sitting in the Great Hall, attempting to get some studying done. After all of the time they spent together while Brian was in the hospital, it was safe to say he was one of Oliver’s best friends now.

“Ollie, have you ever thought about what you’d wanna be if you were an animagus?”

Ollie leaned back in his chair, balancing on the back legs, and thought about all of the animals he could possibly be.

“Maybeee...I dunno. I’d be my patronus, but I don’t know what it is yet. I’m going to say...a bear.”

15. Room

“Keep your eyes closed. We’re almost there.”

Ollie’s mum led him to his newly-refurbished room with Timmy following close behind.

“You’re going to love it, Ollie! Just like I loved mine.”

Oliver was pretty sure he had never been this excited in his life. A brand new room that didn’t look like a little boy’s room anymore!

“Open yours eyes.”

His eyes searched the room and with each new thing he saw, his smile grew bigger and bigger. It looked so cool, he was at a loss for words.

Timmy flopped onto his bed.

“I think he likes it, mum.”

2. Muggle Studies

Oliver slumped into his favorite desk in the library and opened up his muggle studies book.

He had always been fairly good at the subject, but after his talk with Professor Stewart at the beginning of the term, he took every lesson a little more seriously and really considered what it would be like to teach the subject.

While he was so set on Charms, originally, he knew he had to keep his mind open.

It wasn’t long after he had been staring at the textbook, he decided Muggle Studies could definitely probably...maybe be a good fit for him.

89. Past

“You can do it, Ollie!”

Ollie looked up from his bicycle as Timila sped past. She had managed riding on her own just ten minutes ago, and every time she passed, she cheered. He couldn’t even be upset with her.

Biting his lip, he put both feet on the pedals.

“One more time, mum. I can do it.”

She smiled down at him and began pushing him along.

“Just focus on pedaling, okay?”

Once he had gotten up to a comfortable speed, he looked back to see his mum had already let go of the bike.

“YOU DID IT, OLLIE!!!!!”

92. Chocolate

After saving their allowance for a few months, the twins had finally managed to save up enough money to buy chocolates for their mum for Valentine’s Day. Today was the day!

Ollie peaked his head into their mother’s room with Timmy close behind holding the chocolates and handmade-card.

“Mum, are you awake yet?”

When their mum nodded with her eyes still closed, he took that as his sign to head in.

“HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!”

They both ran and cuddled up to her and Ollie thought that he would never need a proper Valentine as long as he had his mum.

93. Chicken

Aria Kyle sat in front of little Ollie, trying to get a spoonful of peas into his mouth, but he just wasn’t having it. Ever since he’d first gotten a taste of chicken, it was all he wanted, and it was driving her crazy.

“CHICKEN, CHICKEN, CHICKEN, CHICKEN.”

She sighed and tried feeding him the peas again. Under the sounds of Ollie’s chanting, the susurrus of his stomach growling could be heard.

“Oliver, if you don’t eat your peas, you will starve. PEAS FIRST.”

Little Ollie wiggled in his seat and crossed his arms over his chest.

“I WANT CHICKEN!”

5. Astronomy

Ollie was lying on the floor of the Astronomy Tower when he heard footsteps approaching and then saw a pair of boots attached to Juno Darcy. Now she was definitely someone he’d like to have around.

“It’s you!”

She laughed and sat down next to him.

“Hey, Oliver.”

“The stars told me you were coming up.”

He winked at her and rolled over onto his side to see her properly.

“They also said we’re gonna hang out more this term.”

Juno raised her eyebrows and considered what he said for a moment.

“Okay...as long as there’s food involved sometimes.”
