Incomplete Drabbles The forum is home to all drabble threads that didn't quite reach their 25/50/100 target, but are definitely worth keeping on SnitchSeeker.

#25 - Sorting Hat

Click. I take my first photo of the Great Hall while entering. Someone shoots me a reproving look and I put my camera away.

We are lead to the front of the Hall, where a stool with a hat is waiting. Click. In my mind I take another photo.

At long last it's my turn to sit down. GRYFFINDOR!, the hat shouts. He said, "You are brave enough to take photos everywhere - even if you shouldn't."

I sit down at the Gryffindor table - and then I see him. Harry Potter. My camera is in my hands again. Click.

#27 - Owl

I don't like birds. No, really.

That's why I was so dumbstruck when an owl arrived during my breakfast on July 15th. A real living owl, yes.

It calmly landed in the middle of the table, looking as though nothing could ever scare it. And most curiously it had a letter in its claws.

"Shush! Get away from there, you stupid bird!", my mum shouted at it. "Go!" She reached out to the bird, which promptly bit her left index finger. "Hey!"

"Mum! I think there's a letter with the owl", I interrupted. "Who would send mail with an owl?"

#75 - Yodel

After a long day at Hogwarts I am under the shower, enjoying the warm water and happily thinking about my latest run-in with Harry Potter. Although, now I think about it, he didn't seem to really notice me. Well, I was able to take a nice photo of him and maybe he'll sign that one for me.

I'm in such a good mood that I start singing, or rather yodelling, an old song my dad plays all the time: In the town where I was born, lived a ...

Suddenly someone bangs on the door. "Shut up in there immediately!"

#11 - History of Magic

Click. I enter the History of Magic classroom and find a seat. Click. A photo of the view out of the window. A few of my classmates start shooting me looks, but I don't care.

Click. Professor Binns has just entered the classroom - through the wall next to the door. Great photo.

Throughout the lesson I keep taking photos. There isn't anything else to do. The light of the camera goes off every few seconds, but Binns doesn't notice.

"Hey, Colin," someone hisses next to me. "D'you know that ghosts aren't visible on photos?"

I didn't think of that.

3. Transfiguration

"Transfiguration is a terribly difficult subject," Hermione Granger had warned me at breakfast.

"And you'd better not mess with McGonagall," Ron Weasley had added.

I nervously fumble with my camera while waiting for the professor's arrival. Click. The motion is soothing me. Click. Ah, that's better. My fingers are more relaxed after taking a photo.

McGonagall arrives. Stern, severe looking.

Click.

She shoots me a look, but says nothing. While she explains today's lesson I want to take another photo.

Click.

Another look. I don't notice it. She clears her throat. "One point from Gryffindor for not paying attention, Mr Creevey."

#99 - Newspaper

When I was younger I used to read the newspaper all the time.

Well, actually I didn't read it - I looked at the pictures and my dad had to read the text for me. I liked the photos. The way they could be simple or artistic, colourful or dark and grim.

When I saw a wizarding newspaper for the first time I was amazed. The pictures were actually moving!

Click.

I took a photo of the newspaper.

"You know your picture won't move, right?" someone said. I'm disappointed. "I will show you how to make it move, alright?" I smile.
