Incomplete Drabbles The forum is home to all drabble threads that didn't quite reach their 25/50/100 target, but are definitely worth keeping on SnitchSeeker.

Astronomy

Class was boring - that wasn't a surprise. Since when has Astronomy been any fun?

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sirius pointing his telescope the wrong way, trying to peek into another class. Professor Signore whacked his head.

"Ow!" He whimpered dramatically. I chuckled and scribbled some answers. Yesterday, we'd charted movements exactly like these. It was so easy, but it was taking most people forever to complete.

Exasperated and bored, I roughly pointed my telescope towards the ground.

When I saw the white glint, a huge grin spread across my face. Astronomy wasn't half-bad after all!

Telescope

Excitement of finding the final ingredient overrode caution as Sirius and I bounded up the stairs, barely managing to stay under the Invisibility Cloak. Remus was in the Hospital Wing. Peter was struggling over homework. When we reached the top of the Astronomy Tower, I threw off the cloak.

Using the telescopes on their highest power, we looked towards the grounds.

“Oy, Padfoot,” I whispered. “There,” I positioned the telescope and stepped back.

“Brilliant!” He grinned, face lighting up with animation. We memorized the area to the most miniscule detail. After all, Giselle flowers weren’t visible to the naked eye.

A/N: So far, all the drabbles I've written are connected. So it would behoove you to read them in order. Just advise, though. Whatever floats your boat, right?

Hogwarts, a History

“Oh, Jamsie!” Sirius sang. “Why is it taking so long?”

I glanced up at him. “Well, if you helped, it might not.”

He languidly doodled on the library’s Hogwarts, a History. “What, and risk blinding myself by squinting to read the miniscule print? No thanks!” Sirius whispered loudly.

“We’re not going to read it like this, Padfoot. I’m going to enlarge it when I find the page. We are wizards,” I said, deliberately patronizing him.

He smacked me on the head with the book he had vandalized.

I glared at him. “That book is fat!”

“So?” Sirius grinned mischeviously.

“Ow!”

Dragonhide gloves

Finally, I found the page. Quickly enlarging it, I scanned the instructions. “All right, so after we pick the Giselle flowers, we lay them to dry for a couple days in ‘vivid sunlight.’ Whatever. Then…we need dragonhide gloves.”

“Sure, we have those!” He grinned excitedly.

“Uh, no, we don’t. Remember, when you created a fire in Potions and then we tried to put it out with our gloves and they got burnt?”

“…No?”

I shook my head. “Well, I guess we’ll just borrow Moony’s.”

“Wait, why didn’t we use our wands for the fire?”

“….”

“Look who forgot magic now!”

Pensieve

The four of us crowded around the silvery liquid. It contained the painstakingly-obtained memory of our Transfiguration professor becoming Animagus. The experience contained information on the last stage of concocting the potion, which we couldn’t find in any books.

“Ready?” Remus asked.

We nodded.

When we came out, Sirius was alight with excitement and I was having trouble containing my delight.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Remus asked, for the hundredth time.

“Relax, Remus, becoming Animagus is the least we can do for you. Right guys?” I looked to the others.

Peter nodded cautiously. Sirius exclaimed, “’Course!”
