100 for the Mystifying Minerva McGonagall - Sa13+ Seeing as I've recently finished some ficlets, I've decided to take a stab at a drabble thread. And who better to try The HP universe belongs to JK Rowling. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l4...gallbanner.jpg Banner by Me Started 6/2/11 19/100 Completed 1. Herbology 2. Muggle Studies 3. She let out a sigh. “What have you done this time?” “We were just making the potion Snape wanted us to.” “Then why are you covered in soot?” She knew that was something she probably shouldn’t have asked. “It kind of exploded. It wasn’t on purpose.” Right. Like she was supposed to believe that. “10 points from each of you. Please, just leave my office.” She stroked her forehead as the twins left. It was going to be a very long seven years with those two. Minerva was in for it. |
A tabby cat sat atop Minerva’s desk, idly watching the new first years while they worked diligently. Then Ron Weasley and Harry Potter rushed in. Minerva watched as they took in her absence and merely glanced over the tabby. The cat seemed to roll its eyes before it started to transform into a person. Minerva looked at the two boys, who seemed to be amazed at the woman now standing in front of them. It never ceased to amaze her how the students reacted to her being an animagus. It was quite entertaining. |
Minerva rushed towards the Great Hall. She’d gotten wind that two of her students were fighting, which was always something she hated to hear. It meant taking points from her own house. All because of a stupid fight. She let out a sigh as she saw the crowd of students. “All right! Everyone back to their common rooms! Or you’ll be losing house points as well.” That got them moving. She let out another sigh as she saw who was fighting. “Do you two boys ever stay out of trouble? My office.” The twins groaned and headed to her office. |
Mini-Challenge: Hop Into Spring It was a lovely spring day and Minerva was strolling through the grounds enjoying it. It had been a great week. She hadn’t seen the Weasley twins more than once and her house was on track to win the house cup. Everything was going great…until she heard a student screaming. She rushed over to the sound of the screams to find the Weasley twins rolling around on the floor, while a first year was tied to a tree. Minerva quickly began to untie the boy and watched him run off. “My office now you two.” Her spring day was ruined. |
Minerva watched the students from her seat at the staff table in the Great Hall. The start of term feast was going great. The food was wonderful as always and Lupin seemed to be fitting in just fine. She took a sip from her pumpkin juice as a crash emitted through the hall. All of the staff seemed to look up, trying to pinpoint the sound. Of course it had come from some first years from Gryffindor. She was going to have to teach these students to be more careful. She couldn’t have them breaking everything that they touched. |
Minerva silently graded papers as the first years practiced their spells. Today was going to be an easy day for her. She wouldn’t be seeing the Weasley twins in any of her classes and she was going to enjoy that fact. “What did you do Seamus?!” She looked up from her desk to see flames erupting from the desk of one Seamus Finnigan. Minerva quickly hurried over and put out the flames. “What happened Mr. Finnigan?!” The young boy just shrugged his shoulders. Minerva let out a sigh. Usually the only flames she was x-tinguishing belonged to the Weasley twins. |
Minerva stared up in awe at the beautiful castle in front of her. She couldn’t believe that this place was going to be her home for the next seven years of her life. It was completely breath taking. She made her way with all of the other first years towards the lake. She looked at the row of boats that the other students were climbing into. Minerva climbed in and was soon joined by a young boy… “Professor? Are you all right?” Minerva was pulled out of the past to look into the face of Hermione Granger. “I’m fine, dear.” |
“Heads up professor!” Minerva ducked as a snowball soared over her head. She looked to find a very guilty looking Dean Thomas. “S-Sorry.” “It’s all right Mister Thomas. No harm done.” Dean went back to the snowball fight he seemed to be having with Seamus. Minerva just chuckled and picked up her own pile of snow and shaping it into a ball. She threw it in Mister Thomas’s direction and laughed when it hit him in the chest. “Just because I’m older doesn’t mean I don’t know how to make a snowball.” She grinned and left them to their game. |
Minerva stroked her forehead. This was the fourth first year Gryffindor student she’d had to see in the past two days. All because of the same reason too. “Why did you charm Professor Snape’s hair so that it would be pink?” “They dared me to do it!” The little first year protested. “Who did?” Minerva asked, even though she already knew the answer to that question. “The Weasleys.” “All right. 5 points from Gryffindor. Back to the common room.” Minerva watched as the first year left. She was really getting sick of the Weasley twins and their so called dares. |
Minerva looked up at the portraits of past Headmasters on the wall. She didn’t feel right sitting in this desk. Albus should still be sitting here, not her. She looked around the room. It was nice, but it wasn’t for her. She was rather tempted to go back to her old office, but she had business to attend to. School business, that only she as Headmistress could take care of. Minerva let out a sigh and looked at the wall, where Albus’s portrait would soon be hanging. This room would never really feel right to her. |
Minerva listened in as two first years started to gossip about Harry Potter. She eyed the two young students who ran off somewhere else. Minerva let out a sigh. She couldn’t believe that the whole school thought Harry was the heir of Slytherin, all because he could speak parseltongue. She wasn’t there to witness the incident, but she had heard a lot about it. She just couldn’t bring herself to believe that Harry was doing those horrible things. Minerva would never believe it. Never. No matter how many students tried to convince her otherwise. Then again, speaking parseltongut wasn’t normal… |
Minerva chuckled as another round fireworks went off. Dolores ran up to her: an exasperated look on her face. “Aren’t you going to try and stop them?!” Minerva just chuckled. “Why would I waste my time trying to stop them? It’s nearly impossible to do. But if you want to chase them: go right ahead.” Minerva just grinned as Dolores ran off. This was just what the woman needed. The things she was doing to the students were absolutely dreadful. For once the Weasley twins were actually doing something that she approved of. She would never tell them though. Never. |
Minerva was lecturing her students on the proper behavior that they should be exhibiting. Her house was getting in an awful lot of trouble and it wasn’t just a few select students. It was the whole lot of them. “Further more: daring first years to do things that are against school rules, makes you a rule breaker as well.” She was interrupted by a loud bang against the window. “Who’s owl is that?” She watched as a first year red head timidly raised his hand. Minerva let out a sigh. This was just the first of many Weasleys to come. |
“What’s wrong? I got your message. You said there was something urgent.” Minerva was practically out of breath. She had been dragged out of her bed by a message from Severus. She had no idea what could be so urgent that couldn’t wait until morning. She held her robe around her as she looked at Severus. “I found these two pilfering through my potion supplies again.” Minerva looked to the two red headed second years that Severus was pointing to. “You brought me down her in my pajamas for this? Severus, this really could have waited until morning…” |
Minerva let out a sigh as she was finally able to sit down and relax in her office. She opened her eyes to find a box of chocolates sitting in front of her. She didn’t see a note and she figured there was nothing wrong with it so she opened the box and ate a piece. It was the best chocolate she’d ever tasted. So she ate another piece. And another. Soon the whole box was gone. Then she started to feel all funny. And big blisters started to form on her skin. Minerva really hated the Weasley twins… |
“The Yule Ball is tradition and I will not have you two ruin it. So I expect you to be on better than your best behavior. Got it?” “Yes Ma’am!” Minerva looked between Fred and George as they saluted her. She let out a sigh. She had a feeling that they would do something to ruin it. “You can go.” As they walked out, Minerva couldn’t help but wish that she could ban them from the ball. It would make her life (and every other professor’s life, for that matter) easier. She couldn’t do that. Dumbledore said it was wrong. |
“Pomona, I’m so sorry about the Whomping Willow. How’s it coming along?” Minerva watched as the other woman let out a sigh. “It’s coming along all right. Thanks for asking.” Minerva couldn’t help but notice that the other woman had been curt with her since Harry and Ron had crashed into the tree. It wasn’t her fault that the two second years had done something so stupid. After all, the children’s lives were more important that than of the plant. Pomona just didn’t seem to understand that matter. She hoped that she would come around…and soon. |
“Calm down Delores. It was only a joke.” “A joke Minerva? A joke?! Have you seen my office?!” Minerva looked around the stout woman to see the mess that was inside. There were papers everywhere and a few pixies still flying around. “I have. And I really don’t see the big issue. It shouldn’t be too hard to clean up.” With that, Minerva turned away. She couldn’t help but smirk. For once she was okay with something like this. She made a mental note to go easy on the two red heads who had most likely done this. |
Minerva sat in the stands watching the Quidditch match. She had full faith her team would win. Even with Oliver’s choice in beaters. She had been keeping her eyes on the young red heads the whole game. She clapped whenever her team scored a point. Hufflepuff was still winning though. Minerva took her attention from the red heads just in time to see the golden snitch being caught. She jumped up from her seat and started to clap wildly. Minerva didn’t care about the looks she was receiving. This was the first time her house had won in a while. |
