Emma Malfoy was in the Common Room on a couch close to the warm fireplace. On her lap was her Herbology homework. Yuck. Herbology. Her least favourite class. She tried her hardest to focus and do her homework, but that wasn’t working. To Emma, plants were boring; she would rather be out on the Quidditch Pitch. Looking over at her best friend, Sel, who looked as if she was studying very hard, she sighed.
“What’s the matter?” asked Sel, looking over.
Emma made a face. “Herbology.”
“Fun,” exclaimed Sel, with a smirk.
“Yeah, lots of fun,” replied Emma sarcastically.

6. Divination
Selena cleared her throat, pretending to be all mysterious in Divination class.
“What do you see?” Emma asked.
Selena continued to waggle her fingers above the crystal and squinted.
“Hurry…” Emma sighed.
“I see…” Selena started as Emma’s eyes widened, “a boy named Allie and a girl named Emma snogging each other.”
Emma’s face turned red and she moved the crystal ball in front of her eying Selena.
“Well, I see a boy named Diggy Greenwood and a girl named Selena snogging each other,” she retorted.
Selena sighed. “Well, I guess divination sucks because we know what’s going to happen.”

Emma leapt into the Common Room dressed in her Slytherin Quidditch uniform. Sel was once again on the couch, sketching. “Guess what today is Sel?”
“What?” asked Sel, as she looked up from her sketchbook.
“THE FIRST QUIDDITCH MATCH OF THE YEAR!” chirped Emma.
“Good luck! And you better not die Emma Astoria Malfoy.”
“I won’t, I promise.”
“Good. You better.” Said Sel before smirking.
“What’s the smirk for Sel?”
“If you fall Alan will save you.”
Emma blushed deeply. “SEL! His name is Alex.”
“Alex, Alan, Alice, Alfred. Same name,” replied Sel, waving her hand in the air.

22. Kneazle
Mini-Challenge#7 - Halloween
“Hey Sel, what are you going to be for Halloween?” Emma asked as they sat in the Slytherin common room.
Selena was busy trying to unwrap a lollipop before she glance up. “A Kneazle,” she said proudly.
“A Kneazle?” Emma asked, arching one brow.
“Yeah, a kneazle, gosh, do you have hearing problems?” Sel joked.
Emma shook her head. “But, no, seriously, what are you going to be?”
“I'm serious! I am going to be a kneazle!” Selena said, opening her sketchbook to show Emma the costume drawn inside.
“That looks like a dog.”
“Well, it’s a kneazle!” Selena huffed.

It was their first year.
“You’re just a stupid, prejudiced pureblood. You’re a Malfoy, which means you’re evil” yelled a fifth year at Emma.
Tears running down her face, she headed towards the Lake. On her way, she ran into someone shorter than her.
“Umm.. I’m sorry..” she began.
“Emma? What’s the matter?” asked her bestie's voice.
“Someone yelled at me because I was a pureblood and a Malfoy,” sniffed Emma looking at Sel.
“What? Is that person insane? Malfoy’s are not bad or evil.”
“It was a fifth year..You really think so? ”
“I know so,” replied Sel, smiling.

“I do.”

“Emma… Emma… Pssst, Emma,” Selena said as she continued to shake the napping girl.
Emma’s eyes fluttered open as Selena smirked.
“What’s up?” Emma asked, stretching.
“Guess what I drew a picture of,” Selena said gleefully.
“Show me,” Emma said, smiling.
Selena opened her sketchbook and showed Emma the picture. THE FUTURE was on top and arrows pointing at a boy and girl named Emma and Alex.
“SEL!” Emma exclaimed as Selena ran.

Sel looked up at the sky. Her eyes were fixed upon the rolling clouds. She yawned. Why was she so tired?
“What’s the long face for?” asked Emma, her bestie coming over to see her.
“No sugar..” mumbled Sel.
Grinning the blonde reached into her small bag and pulled out a huge container of candy and tossed it at her.
Sel’s eyes widened and opened the bag quickly. “Do you know that you’re my best friend in the whole wide world?”
“Well… I try.” Emma told her, smirking and pulling out a bag of sweets for herself.

Selena was napping when Emma entered the dorms. Emma quickly looked for a pen near her. After all, it was time for a little payback.
“Sel, wake up,” Emma said, quickly hiding the marker.
“Whaaa?” Selena groaned as she awoke and looked in the mirror. “OH!” she exclaimed jumping back. “I look handsome,” she said with a smirk as she stroked her fake mustache.
“Sel I drew on you when you were asleep,” Emma offered.
“Napping,” Selena corrected, still admiring her new facial hair.
Emma just couldn’t win this game, could she? Emma let out a groan. She was defeated.

Emma stood in the mirror looking at her light blue dress. Her hands shook partially with excitement and partially because of nervousness. Selena, dressed in a black dress, watched the snow fall.
"Are you ready?" asked Emma, looking over her shoulder.
Selena sighed. "For my death on the dance floor?" she joked, meeting Emma's eyes.
The blonde smirked. "You won't die. You look great."
"Ha, thanks Emma. You look pretty too. I'm only going to the ball because of Diggy."
"Even though its the Yule Ball? "
Sel hummed. “ Yep, even if it is the Yule Ball.”
Emma chuckled.

“Hey Emma, if you had a time turner, what would you do?” Sel asked, staring at the puffy clouds.
“I suppose go back in time, that’s what a time turner is for,” Emma said, a little smirk on her face. “What about you?”
“I’d go back in time too, back to my first year,” Selena said, nodding.
“Why first year?”
“If I wanted to be cheesy, I’d say because that’s when I met y’all, but I just really wanna go back and get in trouble with my parents,” Selena said, smirking.

Emma and Selena made their way over to the front of the huge Hall. They had literally just met at Diagon Alley two days before and were friends now. A weathered hat sat on a stool in front of them. It began speaking.
"Sel, what house do you want to get into?"
Selena smiled at Emma. "Slytherin. And what about you?" she asked. The Professor beside the hat started to call names.
"Slytherin too.” explained Emma as she went on to tell Sel her family’s story. The Professor called for Emma. After Emma was sorted, Selena’s name was called.
“Slytherin”

Selena continued to attempt to balance the book on her head, Emma doing the same.
“I’m sure I can balance it longer than you!” Selena bragged.
“No, you’re going to lose!” Emma giggled.
Selena turned and stuck her tongue out at Emma, as Emma did the same.
“You know, Sel, we’re wasting our time doing this,” Emma sighed after thirty seconds.
As soon as she said that, Sel’s book fell on her foot. “OW!” Selena exclaimed. “Hogwarts, A History is a very painful subject… it’s like a brick of history of pain on your foot,” Selena sighed from the ground.

“Now all we add is a dash of peppermint..” chirped Sel. She was sitting on the floor with her cauldron in the Girls Dormitory. The door opened and Emma walked through. “Hey Emma!”
“Hey Sel! What are you brewing? I thought Potion’s homework was an essay this week,” said Emma.
Sel smirked. “Its nothing. Don’t worry about it. Hey, I want you to give this to Alex for me.”
Emma raised an eyebrow. “Why? Are you two friends now? What will this potion do?”
“Yes, in a way. This potion will help with your future relationship,” explained Sel suavely. Smirk.

Whenever something happened, it was only logical that she went to Emma for help. So there she went, practically tearing the castle apart, looking for her Emma Malfoy.
“EMMA!” Selena exclaimed as she raced over to her friend. Yes, Sel was not happy. She had a giant floppy green hat… and her hair was green. She was a freaking leprechaun. “Help me!”
Emma tried not to laugh. “I’m sure it won’t be that hard to wash it out?” Emma offered.
“Emma… I’m a leprechaun! You have to be one too if I have to.”

"To be or not to be..." cried Emma, reading a HUGE book. She was forgetting that she was not alone. Anyway, muggle plays were actually not too bad, even though muggles complained about them.
"Umm.. Emma, what are you reading?" asked Selena, raising her eyebrow.
"Shakespeare's Hamlet."
"Can I see it?"
The blonde nodded and handed her friend the book. Selena put her head on the book and let out a sigh. Emma raised an eyebrow as she watched her friend relax.
"It makes an okay pillow. But it’s not as good as A History of Magic though."

Selena watched as Emma paced back and forth and back and forth as she went on about love, life and dramatic stuff.
“I do remember well where I should be, and there I am. Where is my Romeo?” Emma said dramatically, pacing back and forth.
“Emma… can you stop for a moment?” Selena asked.
“Why? What’s wrong? Did I sound funny?” Emma asked, eyes wide.
Selena shook her head. “You were fine. Your pacing is making me dizzy,” Selena said before she leaned back onto the carpet. “And Shakespeare’s boring.”
Emma giggled and nudged Sel with her foot before resuming.

The crazytastic best friends sat in the Common Room with a bag of candy sitting beside them on the couch. Selena was reading a letter, whilst Emma was reading a Quidditch magazine. Selena sighed and put the letter down.
"What's the matter Selena?" asked Emma, gazing at her friend to see what was wrong.
"I have.. a sister." she explained, looking numb.
"Is that bad?"
"I don't even know her."
"She'll be nice. Hopefully"
"Hopefully Emma but.. My mother never told me about her," explained Selena, still numb. Emma turned around to face her friend. “She lied to me Em.”

“EMMA!” Sel exclaimed as she tossed pillow after pillow off of her bed.
Emma moved trying to avoid the flying objects as her bestie threw them. “What’s wrong Sel?” she asked.
Sel continued to mess up her bed, now resorting to dumping things out of her bag. “I can’t find my wand!”
Emma watched her friend continue to make a mess before spotting a piece of wood lying in a shoe. “You mean the piece of wood lying in your shoe?“
Sel looked at her sneakers and grinned sheepishly. “It must’ve fallen there when I was playing hide and seek.”

Emma stared out the window of the Seventh Floor Tower and watched the clouds pass by. She heard footsteps walking towards her; she turned her head slightly to see Selena standing to her right.
"What's on your mind?" asked Selena, looking out at the sky.
"The sky. Hopefully I can go to play Quidditch this afternoon," began Emma. But no one on the team was there.
"Have fun. See you in the Common Room" said Sel, beginning to walk away.
Emma smirked. "Hey Sel! Want to play Quidditch?"
Selena made a face and chuckled. "No way. I'm allergic to Quidditch."

"TONIGHT. WE FEAST LIKE KINGS AND QUEENS," Selena exclaimed as she raised her goblet in the air.
Emma laughed and nodded. "This is our new castle and we are one more step closer to world domination!"
Selena looked around the flat that the crazytastic besties had recently purchased. It was still a bit bare and the two were sitting by the kitchen counter with some take out from the restaurant down the street. It wasn't much yet but she knew things were going to be awesometastical.
"This is our new home," Selena beamed.
"This is our new castle," Emma corrected.

It was their first Christmas in the flat. It was about six in the morning and the two women sat underneath the festive tree. Christmas carols played in the background. Emma passed a colourfully wrapped present to Selena. “This is for you!” she said, hiding a smirk. Oh how she had planned this present for years. This was a prank that Selena had pulled on the girl back during their Hogwarts years and it was finally time to take revenge.
Selena eyed her sceptically, shrugged, and then opened the present.
BOOOM!
“Oh well played, Emma. Well played,” chuckled Selena.

While Emma had gone as a ballerina, Selena had decided to go full out dragon. And no one did Halloween in the building the way the crazytastic besties did it. The doorway was decorated with cobwebs and incredibly realistic looking spiders.
The door swung open and Emma smiled at the child. "TWICK OR TWEET," the little girl said.
"GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD TO EAT," Selena shouted jumping in front of the doorway roaring.

“Jacuzzi time!” said Selena as she dashed past Emma’s room. Emma jumped from her seat and quickly got dressed into her bathing suit. This was the first time that they were going to use their shiny new Jacuzzi. This was going to be awesome!
By the time, Emma made it into the Jacuzzi, Selena was nowhere to be found. She panicked. Had Selena drowned?  She ran to grab the phone and she heard someone chuckling. Turning around, she saw Selena with a beard of bubbles on her face. “Em! Em! Guess which Headmaster I am?”
“Dumbledore. Merlin, you scared me.”

I watched the two-legged females run around my home as I gnawed away on the dark haired one's shoes. They were pointy. I didn't like that.
"Emma, I can't find the portkey!"
"Sel, we just got that! How did you lose it?"
The two continued to make a mess of my home and I walked over, shoe still in my mouth before jumping onto an overturned sofa cushion.
"CLARKE STOP EATING MY SHOES," the dark haired one shouted.
Silly human. I nudged the cushion aside to reveal a rubber duck.
"Emma, I found the portkey."

10. Arithmancy
They had been house hunting all day.It was almost as tiring as trying to understand what numbers meant in Arithmancy class. “House hunting’s worse than Arithmancy and Herbology classes combined!” complained the blonde as they got out of the taxi.
“I know,” said Selena as she glanced at their map of inner London that they had purchased two days ago.
With sore feet, the two girls climbed the many stairs and made their way into a new flat. Opening the door, the two girls looked at each other and giggled.
This was the perfect.
“Em, we’re home.”
“It’s beautiful.”
