100 Drabbles for Princess Hallie

These are drabbles for my seventh year character, Hallie Washington. Through these drabbles we'll get to watch as Hallie adjusts from being homeschooled in New York, to going to Hogwarts.

13. Quidditch

“What’s wrong New York? Quidditch isn’t fashionable enough for you?” One of the seventh year boys asked her. She raised her eyebrows at him, clearly not amused.

“I’ve never cared for Quidditch and never will.” Hallie declared, of course everyone knew this by now. Once word got out that she didn't like Quidditch, it spread through the school quite fast.

“Where you going?”

“To the library.” She lied, she was going to nap during the match.

“Oh no you're not New York.” He laughed.

“I refuse to go to that stupid match!” She exclaimed before stomping out of the Hall.

It seemed as if everyone had ganged up on Hallie when they drug her down to the Quidditch pitch, ignoring her hateful comments about the sport and how she threatened to get them into trouble somehow.

So there she was, forced to watch a Quidditch match. With her arms crossed in front of her, she sat in the middle of the Slytherin section of the stands.

She had tried desperately to drown out the loud noise of everyone cheering, but it just didn’t work. And Hallie was getting more annoyed by the second.

The match wasn’t even to the half-way point when Hallie stood up, and left. She was nearing the bottom of the steps leading down to the dungeon when someone picked her up and placed her over their shoulders. “PUT ME DOWN!” Hallie screeched as she began to kick her legs.

“Sit through one match, that’s all we ask.” The unidentifiable boy told her as he marched her right back down to the Quidditch pitch with her over his shoulder like a backpack.

“I won’t tolerate this behavior.” She told him as she formed fists and began to punch his back.

Hallie stood there in front of the empty pot, plant and mound of dirt, staring at the three things. “You expect me to do what?” She asked the professor.

“It’s just simple repotting. A first year can do it.” The professor said with a sigh. Hallie was such a handful the majority of times.

“Can’t you just make a first year do it then?” Hallie asked the professor with a major side of attitude. “I mean, why waste my valuable time if a first year can do it.” She said with a shrug of the shoulders.

“You heard me correctly Miss Washington.” The professor clarified.

Hallie stood before the professor, still a ways away from the plants and compost that she was supposed to be repotting, mouth gaping wide open.

“You’ve got to be kidding.” Hallie repeated for a third time. “Detention!” She screeched. How dare the professor give her detention because she refused to be degraded to a first year’s level.

“Detention and a loss of 10 points from Slytherin.” The professor added on.

Hallie was outraged. “You can’t do that!” She yelled slamming her fist down on the table.

Hallie had waited until the last possible moment to do her homework…once again. She found it more comfortable to lay in bed and sleep than to do her homework. But the thought of possibly failing seventh year, and being forced to go back and repeat it by her parents made her jump on her homework.

Books lay out across a library table, Hallie sat there and stared. She had no idea where to start. She hadn’t taken notes during class either. So that was a bust. And it seemed that no one liked her enough to let her borrow notes.

2. Muggle Studies

It was the first day of classes, and Hallie was already wishing she would have skipped classes for the entire day. Muggle studies was a waste to her. She had lived among Muggles for all of her life, she could pass this class without even trying.

So, instead of staring off blankly at the professor, Hallie put her head down on her desk, and fell asleep, only to be poked awake at the end of the class by the professor’s wand in her shoulder. “Nice of you to join us, deduction of five points.” The professor said pointedly.

Hallie stood there in front of her work table with a large smile plastered on her face. She was quite proud of her work. She had successfully turned the old ugly toad into a nice shiny pair of high heels that happened to be exactly her size.

The professor however wasn’t happy. “Miss Washington, you were supposed to transfigure the toad into a book.” The professor clearly told her…again. The first time she had changed the toad into a mirror.

“But Professor, these shoes are so much better than any old book. Or a new one for that matter.”

6. Divination

“Miss Washington, do you know why you’re failing Divination?” The Slytherin Head of House questioned the seventeen year old.

Her response was a shrug of her shoulders, there was a pause before she opened her mouth to speak. “Wait, I’m in Divination?” She asked, clearly she had no idea.

The elder Slytherin rolled her eyes. “It’s one of the classes you’ve been sleeping through every day of the week for the last three months. Ring a bell?”

“OH! Well, do you blame me? It’s terribly boring.” She said with a yawn, just thinking about it made her sleepy.

12. Charms

“And who are you?” The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor asked.

“Hallie Washington.” Hallie told him as if he should have already known that.

“You’re not a first year are you?”

“Obviously not, I’m a seventh year.”

“Where are you supposed to be?”

“Charms, why?” She asked, her temper starting to rise.

“Wrong floor, this is Defense Against the…"

“Okay, okay.” Hallie huffed as she turned around and stormed out of the room. She was a new student at Hogwarts and the school easy to get lost in.

24. House Elf

Hallie was wide eyed as she stared at the unfamiliar yet familiar creature before her. “What can Tula help Miss with?” The house elf asked, ready to do anything for the seventeen year old girl.

“What…what are you?” She asked, though she knew exactly what Tula was, she had never actually seen a House Elf before. It was too risky living in the middle
of New York City to have a house elf in the family.

“Tula is a Hogwarts house elf. What can Tula do for Miss?” Hallie stood there, still in a bit of a shock.

48. Leprechaun

Hallie was casually flipping through a book in the library, when she came across a section on leprechauns. For some reason, the creatures really intrigued Hallie and she sat there and read the entire section.

Only after she finished reading about leprechauns, she realized she was reading a book…a Care of Magical Creatures book nonetheless. She flopped the book down in the chair next to her and looked at the cover.

Deciding that it wouldn’t hurt to see what else was in there she picked it back up and went to check it out.

No one was to know.

14. Hogwarts, A History

Once again, Hallie was missing from a class. And once again, there she was, sleeping in the library. This time though she had fallen asleep on top of her copy of Hogwarts, A History.

“Come on Washington.” Someone said poking her in the shoulder. “Professor said you’re not missing another one of his classes.”

Eventually the poking worked and Hallie sat up, a few stray hairs sticking up on end. “Fine.” She huffed as she slammed the book doubled as a pillow shut. “But if I’m grumpy it’s not my fault, you’re the one who woke me up.” She declared.

64. Nap

It was snowing outside and everyone around Hogwarts was getting into the Christmas cheer, all except Hallie. She was homesick, wanting to see her family and she was sick. It seemed like the worst time ever to get sick with nearly every class having exams.

Once classes were done for the day, Hallie found her way back to the dungeons where she told a first year off for sitting in her favorite napping chair. Chair finally vacated, she plopped down in the chair, pulled her legs up to her chest and watched the fire as she dozed off.

41. Thestrals

Out of all the creatures in the book Hallie was reading about magical creatures, the one she refused to read about thestrals. She had never really learned much about them, but she found them extremely weird and creepy. And who wanted to read about thestrals.

So she skipped the chapter about thestrals without even looking at the pages, she much rather learn about something that wasn’t so creepy.

“Watch were you’re going!” Hallie told one first year. She continued walking down the corridor, it was true that she was a new student and hadn’t even been in Hogwarts for 24 hours before she started to act like she owned the place.

Hallie gave a huff when two first years darted in front of her. “Seriously?” She questioned, “Can none of you be careful and not walk against the wall so the older, important students can get through?” She asked in a way as if she was commanding them to do just that.
