Sometimes Lux got the impression that her sister didn't trust her driving skills... At least when it came to her son being in the car.

As understandable as it was to be protective, she was a good driver. She had done well on her tests and hadn't gotten in one accident so far. Hopefully she never would.

Harrison would be safe with her.

"Willa, I'm not Ron Weasley. He will be fine."

"I have no idea what you are talking about." Willa frowned at her sister.

No surprise there, Lux thought.

"He crashed his dad's Ford Anglia into a tree."

The idea of magic school was very interesting even if she wouldn't be attending it for a few years.

If she did at all.

Lux had come across her older brother's copy of Hogwarts, a History. Naturally the eight year old was curious.

Opening the cover, she was hit in the face with jibberish. She did not speak Latin, but her brother would know.

"Lenny, what does this mean?" she asked as she brought the book over to him.

“It means 'If you can't take the heat, don't tickle the dragon'." Laughing, he started tickling her, causing Lux to squeal.

One of Lux's favoruite things to talk about was Mermaids. Ariel in particular, but Mermaids in general as well.

She had found a book on them at the library and was having a hard time putting it down.

"Lux, you know not to read at the dinner table." Of course she wasn't paying attention because her mind was in another place.

"Did you know that Merpeople are found all over the world? They are even at Hogwarts!" SHE had been aware of that, but had her parents?

Her mother shook her head in amusement. "Your dinner is getting cold, Lux."

Exams were approaching, and that meant only one thing: Lux was stressing out.

There were textbooks all around her and wads of crumpled up paper littered on the floor. Hopefully the librarian wouldn't mind, but she wasn't exactly in the state of mind where she cared overly. Instead she was more focused on memorizing this recipe because otherwise how was she supposed to be able to brew the darn potion.

Sighing, she dropped her head to the table. A pensieve would be great right about now.

"Adi, remind me again why I decided to major in Potions."

Teddy's depression was really worrying her.

Every time that someone asked him if he was okay, he would say that he was. But Lux knew otherwise. She knew HIM. He was not a good liar, and she was sure that he was very aware of the fact... but he kept doing it regardless. It made her really sad to see her best friend like this and all she wanted to do was hug him and help him feel better.

To make Teddy happy once more.

All she could do was support him and listen. That, and offer lots of hugs.

Today was just one of those days where she didn't want to do anything.

Lux could blame it on university, because it tired her out so much sometimes that all she did was mooch around the house wearing a sweatshirt and track pants.

After spending some time watching Netflix in the living room, she decided to go upstairs and read for a little. Teddy had lent her a new Sherlock Holmes book that she needed to read and discuss with him. That thought in turn reminded her that she had letters to send to him and Bella.

Where was her chocolate?

Pouting, Lux searched through the drawer in the kitchen but there was none to be seen. Apparently she had managed to eat two bars of it since last night but it wasn't her fault; baby was developing a love of sweets and demanded them.

She patted her belly. Only four more months to go and they would have their little one here with them. She was so excited to be a mother and hoped that she would be as good at it as her sister was. For the moment, however, she was most interested in FOOD.

"UGHHHH. I think I ate too much," Lux moaned as she lay across the couch in her living room. It had been worth it, however, to eat candy with Teddy. Even if he probably felt the same way she did judging from the look on his face as he sprawled out across the love seat.

Now she finally understood why people said that it wasn't a good idea to eat too much candy at once. She had always thought it was a muggle urban legend.

"Next Halloween I think we should pace ourselves more, Lux."

He was right about that.

Judging by how much she loved looking at the different stars and planets sometimes Lux wondered why Astronomy wasn't her favourite subject. Then she would read the textbook and remember how incredibly difficult the subject could be. Black holes made little sense as did a lot of the other aspects of space.

"Why can't we just look at pretty things in the sky and let everything else be a mystery?" she asked Adi. She loved mysteries but preferred the ones that actually made sense to her.

The chuckle she received in response came as no surprise; she knew him well.

"DON'T LET IT TOUCH YOUR SKIN!" Lux exclaimed as she watched the jar of Bubotuber pus fall from her hands and hit the floor, shattering.

THIS was the problem with potion making; sometimes the containers got slippery and even gloves couldn't help with it. She gave Zhenya an apologetic took. "Sorry about that."

Her friend shrugged and smiled. "No worries. It happens." Not like they wouldn't have everything cleared up in a moment... Using her wand, Zhenya repaired the broken container and cleaned up the remaining mess.

Adding the pus to their cauldron, Lux smiled. Even acne cures were important.

What a glorious day!

It was hard not to be cheerful on the first day of spring: the weather was getting warmer, birds were singing, and summer was getting closer by the day. Lux couldn't get over the wonderful feeling that the season brought.

In order to celebrate the occasion, she had made a wreath of white lilies which she was proudly wearing. It looked good against her red hair; even during times like this she couldn't clash colours. She had also bought herself some candy because... well, she didn't NEED an excuse to buy candy since it was amazing.

One of the worst things in the world was a poor sleep.

At least that was how Lux felt as she tried her hardest to stay awake during the lesson. Muggle Studies was one of her favourite classes and quite easy, but the Second Year was having a hard time paying attention. Could she just... close her eyes for a moment? She didn't have to fall asleep or anything, she just needed a little rest. It wasn't HER fault that she had been plagued by bad dreams the night before.

Resting her head against her desk, she immediately fell asleep.

Moving her fingers along the rows of bottles, Lux made a face. Where had the powdered Dragon horn gone? All she could see was Dragon blood and Dragon Claw Ooze. Neither of them were what she needed. Clearly she had let her supply run out and had forgotten to grate some more. Silly, but it WAS a common ingredient and she used it a lot.

Heading over to her work area, she set about grating a horn into powder. As she worked, she hummed a tune to herself. Being a potioneer was a lot of work but she loved it.

The prospect of confronting a Boggart wasn't one that Lux was looking forward to but she DID know that there was nothing to fear. Not really. Reading the textbook she knew that whatever she saw would be merely an illusion created in order to terrify her.

Still, she was not looking forward to practical experience.

Taking a deep breath, the Second Year braced herself before entering the classroom. She was putting on her brave face but that shaking wardrobe in the center of the arena wasn't helping matters.

How would heights be transferred to a creature?

Lux was so angry right now. Earlier she and Willa had a fight over the engagement and the fact that she was 'too young' and had 'accepted a proposal from an idiot'. Could she hex her sister into next year? Please? It would help get out a lot of the anger and aggression even if it didn't change the fact that Willa wouldn't come let alone be the Maid of Honor.

She would have to ask someone else... but who?

WHATEVER.

Frustrated, Lux picked her wand up off of her desk pointed it at a picture of Willa.

Biting her lip, Lux glanced down at the recipe and made a mental checklist of all the steps that they had completed. Everything seemed to be in order and the potion looked exactly as they figured it should, but she wanted to be extra thorough. This was one of the creations that she and Zhenya had worked on for months, formulating and using trial and error to get the perfect results. Brewing was the REAL test, however.

Satisfied, she nodded. “Just need to x-tinguish the flame and let the potion cool then we can try it,” she told her friend.

With a small shudder, Lux listened to the wind roar.

"It is absolutely gelid outside!" she said sadly, using a word that she had recently learned while reading a novel. It was always good to increase ones vocabulary though sometimes it ended up hurting her head with all the new words floating around in there.

Adi raised his brow as he looked out the window. "I'm assuming that means cold and icy?" There had only been a little bit of snowfall when he arrived at Lux's house and now it was a mini blizzard.

One of Lux's favourite things to do while in Diagon Alley was look at the different animals at the Menagerie. Even though she was not at school anymore, she did like going down there and probably always would. Could you get any better than ice cream, candy, and animals? She thought not.

Smiling, she made her way towards where the kneazles were kept. Normally Lux was more of a dog person, but cats were nice too and kneazles were basically cats. Her eyes were already on one who seemed to want attention from her.

It was something that Lux was rather ashamed to admit, but ever since the acromantula incident when she was a Sixth Year, she was dreadfully scared of spiders in every shape and form. How could she not be when those huge beasts had tried to eat her and one of her best friends?

This was something that she and Cinna had gone through together, so she knew that her best friend would understand why the sight of a small spider crawling across the ceiling of her room had her wanting to cry.

Lux couldn't help that she was so fearful.

Maybe it was because she was such a nerd, but History of Magic had been one of Lux's favourite classes while she had been at Hogwarts. It made her happy that Teddy loved the subject too because very often it seemed that people felt that she was weird to like it so much. Well, she didn't care too much what people thought of her, but it still made her really happy to know she wasn't alone.

Currently she was reading one of the history books that he had bought recently and had finished within a day. What a perfect afternoon.

Hanging out with Hady was something that always made Lux really happy, and now that her little sister had graduated from Hogwarts, that meant that they could spend even MORE time with each other.

Currently they were at Floreans with Adi enjoying celebratory ice cream. It wasn't every day that a friend graduated and did very well on NEWTs! They were both so proud of Hady. "Now you are officially one of the adults even if Adi will never agree." Haha, Lux liked teasing her best friend, but it was true; he was super protective.

Frowning slightly, Lux gazed into the floor length mirror. She just wasn't sure if she liked how she looked.

"Do you think I should wear my hair up or down?" she asked Bleu while turning around slightly so that her friend could see it easier. Bleu would definitely know what the best option was to go with the dress that Lux was wearing and she wanted to look extra nice since she was going to the Yule Ball with Bay. There was no one else she would ever want to go with and he was her boyfriend.

With no small amount of difficulty, Lux pushed down on the trunk with all her might. Not that it made any difference; the thing still refused to close.

Times like this she really wished that she was old enough to do magic outside of school. As it was, she would get into big trouble for it and that was something that she really didn't need in her life. Muttering to herself, she decided to sit on it and see if that made a difference. Not really because she was small despite her eating habits.

It was an hour before Defense Against the Dark Arts, but Lux was having a hard time finding the motivation to get out of bed. This was a problem because she needed to get ready and then eat breakfast. There was no way that she was ever going to enter a lesson hungry, and given her healthy appetite she would need more than a piece of toast.

Why couldn't she just lollygag today?

Normally it was something that Lux preferred not to do, being a good student and not lazy, but last night had been bad for her. Stupid nightmare.

Lux was leaning towards the snake enclosure, trying to get one of the creatures to come out of hiding and say hello to them. This gesture only served to confuse Adi, though he was used to this kind of behavior.

"What are you doing?"

"Speaking Parseltongue," Lux whispered back to that none of the muggles could hear them. The last thing they needed was to get into trouble for exposing magic. In all likelihood people would just think that they were nuts. "Help me summon them."

Amused, Adi shook his head and laughed. "Sure thing, Mermaid..."
