Conservatory - First Floor
Sitting directly in the back of the castle on the first floor is the large conservatory. As you enter the room you are greeted with the warmth that the room keeps all year round. Looking up you will see the room's ceiling is all glass to allow the sunlight to come directly in. A brick floor leads you to the different sections of the conservatory. The first section consists of mundane plants and herbs. This is where you can research and work with more of the no-maj plants and learn the different herbs you can use for ingredients in potions as well as cooking. A section is designed for students to be able to plant flowers or help with the school's garden. The pukwudgies use many of the vegetables and fruits that are grown in this section for their ingredients in the kitchen. As you continue to move through the conservatory you will find the tamer magical plants and then a seating area for lessons. As you walk in the beauty of the plants of Ilvermorny, you would never know that you are walking in a circle and headed back towards the front of the room. The last section is roped off and charmed to keep all the dangerous plants out and you in, unless you have permission. Caution is needed for these plants and you aren't supposed to cross the rope. Nicely keep following the brick around the area to the front of the room once more to exit the conservatory.  | |

There were many things that Willow was. Being incredibly patient was certainly one of those things, and being abundantly caring and sympathetic were other words that could be used to describe her. Though she was far too humble to state such things about herself (she rather show it through her actions to all humans, creatures, and plants alike), her placement in Pukwudgie was very fitting of her.
Her head tilted to the side when Hunter mentioned that he had not heard the melody of the honking daffodils. Truth be told, it was likely that they would hear the same noise if they were to go pay the daffodils a visit, but he always perceived their honking as their way of playing music for those who were listening. Sometimes it really was a matter of how you look at -- or hear -- things.
What was unquestionably clear to her at this moment in time was Hunter's excitement about her mentioning of Niffler's Fancy. The girl's smile widened, pleased to be in the presence of, what seemed to be, another plant enthusiast.
That smile of hers only grew when she heard Zion's voice. So the other boy did speak! She of course drew no attention to that but instead twirled around in an attempt to get her bearings. After a complete twirl and a half, she stopped, held out a pointed hand, and stated, "I think we need to go this way."

Z looked better, which was an immense relief to Hunter. Not because he couldn’t handle the cousin at his worst but because it was difficult for him to see Z in any kind of discomfort. Yes, these two shared quite the bond! And the other boy wanted to help look as well for the Niffler’s Fancy! “Yep! I’ve never seen one and well… now that I think of it, there must be tons of plants out there that I haven’t laid eyes on.’’ Excuse Hunter for looking quite forlorn at this realisation!
Yes, Willow. Hunter was indeed a plant enthusiast. It had stemmed {no pun intended} from his mother’s collection of plants his father had gotten his mother from countries he visited. Now, Hunter watched in amazement as Willow twirled. “Don’t you get dizzy from doing that?” Didn’t she get giddy from her loud energy level? Hunter had so many questions! But those would have to wait.
“To the Niffler’s Fancy then!’’ came a rather enthusiastic declaration and he led the way in the direction Willow had pointed out. |

With every minute that passed, Zion felt better. He felt more and more like he could keep walking on and talking about plants and less and less like he might faint right where he stood. Right now the plants were winning this round. As nice as the ground probably was, he didn't feel like becoming one with it anytime soon.
Zi kept a pretty close eye on Willow now, what with her twirling around and speaking to the plants and such, he didn't want her banging into him.. or him into her. That happened enough to him at him with his own siblings. He tended to get overlooked sometimes being a bit on the smaller side for his age and on the quieter side too. Not that he minded it much. He didn't. He liked his quiet and his siblings. He still had an outgoing nature to him just not.. as high energy as the others. Plus he also had Hunter.
"Don't worry, now that we're here at school.. we'll be getting to see all kinds of plants and things." Zi grinned a bit at Hunter, giving him a little nudge with his elbow. They had plenty of time to see all the plants his cousin wanted to.
Waving his hand, Zion gestured for Hunter and Willow to lead the way to the Niffler's Fancy!

While the two had their moment together to discuss that the Niffler's Fancy was indeed what they wanted to see, Willow had busied herself with more twirling, looking at the nearby plants more closely, and doing another round of twirls. While she liked to think that she was being mindful of where her twirling antics were taking her, there really was no rhyme or reason to it. She was just letting her bare feet take her wherever they wanted to take her.
Did she ever get dizzy though? "Sometimes," the blonde responded simply. "But there's a way to not get dizzy." She would demonstrate it, of course. There were plenty of opportunities for that since they had, if she remembered correctly, a bit of a trek ahead of them to get to their destination.
Speaking of destinations, Hunter was already leading the way. His enthusiastic declaration personally made her even more excited to show them the gorgeous rare plant. This only resulted in more twirling from her. See how she kept on staring at a specific place as she twirled? That was her secret.
After numerous twirls, a turn here and there, almost getting distracted by a different plant or two, and more twirls, a plant with gleaming, copper-like leaves was within view. "Gentlemen, I present to you the Niffler's Fancy."

Zion might be overlooked by their other family members but certainly not by Hunter. Hunter might be shy or timid at times but when it came to this particular cousin, there was no room for either; he was always too busy being in his protective element. Why was why Hunter was all too happy that Zion was okay now. “That’s true! I hadn’t known this school kept all these plants.” He couldn’t wait to share all these details with his parents!
But um… why did Hazel twirl that much? Was it entertainment for the plants or was this something she did for fun? Hunter had the sneaking suspicion that at some point in life, he’d find out. He wasn’t quite sure he believed her when she said there’s a way to not get dizzy. “Uh huh. Sure.” Hunter was going to leave his skepticism right there.
Quite a few twirls later {not on his part since he’d look outright silly}, he finally feasted his gaze on the plant indicated at. “It’s the most beautiful plant ever!” Hunter marveled. | |

Zion wouldn't necessarily say that he was overlooked, not by everyone. Just.. mostly by Zach. He was sure it had something to do with the fact that they were only a few months apart and that his brother felt like he was stepping in on his space and taking all the attention but that had never at all been what he was trying to do. The entire situation had been extremely complicated for little kids and sadly it had transferred along with them as they got older, there was still that.. annoyance between them at times. That was a story for another time however. Hunter was the greatest of cousins and Zi was very appreciative of him. "These are probably some of the plants we'll learn about in our lessons is what I'm guessing." The young boy couldn't know for sure but it was a fair honest guess on his part.
Just watching Willow twirl around and around was making him dizzy and he was standing still! There was no way there was some sort of trick to not getting dizzy with all of that spinning round and round she was doing. How she didn't tumble right over, he didn't know. He was thankful that she didn't though!
With a tiny shake of his head as he followed along, his very light blue eyes landed upon a very shiny plant. It kinda made his eyes hurt a little. "It's really bright."Pretty, for sure.. but bright. And shiny. "There aren't any nifflers around, are there?" Sorry but he had to ask. A boy needed to make sure he wasn't going to get knocked down by a creature that wanted all the shinnies for itself.

Even though all the twirling she was doing might have made the boys dizzy, Willow did not feel the same. She did, after all, know the secret of not losing one's balance or ending up feeling nauseous. Twirling for years and knowing how to use the spotting technique really did pay off. As for why she was twirling, well, she would answer in the same way if someone asked about her bare feet: it was all for fun!
Speaking of fun, looking at all of the plants was just as much fun as twirling. The temptation to join the two together was tempting, but she knew that most plants weren't fans of such an activity, so she settled for just admiring the Niffler's Fancy with those large eyes of hers. She reached out a hand to gently caress the plant's leaves.
"Yes, it certainly is beautiful!" Willow agreed with Hunter, all that twirling she had been doing clearly having no effect on her. "I wonder how long its home has been here. They are quite rare, you see."
A giggle escaped her mouth after Zion's words reached her ears. Yes, its brightness was kind of the point of naming the plant Niffler's Fancy. She herself was quite drawn to its enchanting appearance. Her giggle, however, was in response to the question that had been asked, which she replied with, "I'm fairly positive that there aren't any in the conservatory. I imagine all the leaves would have been stuffed inside Niffler pouches ages ago if any had found their way in here."
