Right Guys I have no idea where Lily's been to but I suspect she's really busy with school just like I am but I was afraid we would lose all you dear readers and the story would go in the inactive threads If I didn't post soon. This is just a little chapter to pass the time nothing really happens but nevertheless I hope you like I wrote this in about half an hour. Thank You To All Or Loyal Readers Who Waited.



It grew colder as the weeks went by causing a lot more colds around the school then usual. The wind blew through the grounds and whipped round the branches of the trees there causing a loud screaming noise to fill the air. Frost settled on the grounds in the morning causing a crunchy sound whenever someone stepped on it. On this particular Sunday morning the frost had settled more than any other day signalling Winter drawing in. With a crunch of my feet I rubbed my cold hands together to try and stay warm, as I breathed out a faint cloud of mist formed itself before blowing away. I was waiting for someone. Feeling the cold I jumped lightly from foot to foot hoping she would come soon, it wasn't usual for her to be late and I was beginning to wonder. Just as I was about to turn around and leave the edge of the late to search for her I saw her rushing towards him.

Ginny Weasley – who was wearing a large warm coat over her casual clothes and a white bobbled hat sat on her head to keep her warm, her flaming red hair sitting flat against her shoulders. She looked beautiful. She too was wearing gloves but I knew she could feel the cold. As she neared I notice a smile on her face which in turn brought one to mine.

“I'm so sorry I'm late. I got caught up” She said as she jumped into step next to me. I took her gloved hand in mine and kissed her cheek lightly,

“It's alright, I was just about to go in search for you” I said as we began to stroll forward. The lake sat to the right of us and I took pleasure in looking over it, the water had yet to freeze over like it did every winter but I bet the water was so cold you'd freeze in it anyway. Stopping just a short away from where we had started and under a tree that me and Ginny both liked to sit under when we when we finally got some time alone and let go of each other's hands to sit on the cold ground.

I saw a shiver go up Ginny's spin as she got comfortable and before she could say anything I gathered her up into my arms and gave her a squeeze. I felt her snuggle close to me as she tried to get warm.

“Ginny I do wish you'd not participate in the games next month” I started with bringing up the conversation we'd had may times before. I heard her sigh,

“Harry you know I have to, My name was chosen and besides I want to participate” She told me for like the uptenth time that week. It was my time to sigh, I know there was nothing to do but I still felt there was something I could do to help. “Look at when you where in the Tiwizard Tournement, You couldn't back out then why should I now?” She added turning a little in my arms to look at me.

“At least let me help” I said knowing I was going to lose this battle yet again, “I don't want to see you get hurt” I added looking over her face. Leaning forward I felt her lips touch mine for a moment before pulling back. Moving her hand she leant it on my cheek before saying,

“I can defend myself perfectly but I'll look after myself I promise”

I watched her for a moment more trying to force my thoughts onto something else. I knew she could do it and I would be routing for her just as much as everyone else just I'd love to have her by my side throughout it all. Sighing my defeat I gave her a smile and pulled her close to me once more. It was certainly cold and I was suddenly wondering why they hadn't decided to meet in the common room by the fire, it was certainly early enough that no one else would be awake for a while.

“Winters coming” Ginny said rubbing her hands together, She turned her head to look over the lake like I had done a few minutes before. I too turned my gaze in that direction. Not far from where they sat a bird picked at the ground looking for food that he hoped would be there, It's black coat keeping him warm in the cold. We watched it for a moment before it opened it's wings and flew away.

“Should we go in? It's getting really cold” I heard my girlfriend say as she shifted in my arms. I felt guilty in asking her to meet me outside now, when I knew it would be this cold.

“Sorry” I said moving to stand up, Taking her hand I pulled her up next to me. She moved closer so she was practically in my arms once more.

“It's alright, I like being outside just I'm frozen to the bone! Let's go find a fire to warm ourselves before breakfast. Besides people might be waking soon” She gave him another kiss once more and I wound my around around her and brought her closer not ending the kiss. When It did end I felt my cheeks hot and my lips slightly swollen. Ginny looked the same, smiling I took her hand once more and lead her towards the castle saying nothing as it didn't need saying.

sorry this has taken so long! and that it's so short!

I smiled and brushed some hair out of her eyes.

Hermione blushed beneath her freckles. I don't think she's gotten used to the idea that we're “together” now. I hadn't. We were sitting on the rug in front of a burning fire, in the common room. I love the way the fire casts a glow on her skin.

“Uh, 'Mione?”

“Yes...Won-Won?” she teased.

I grimaced and she laughed. “C'mon...”I moaned. “This is serious.” “Oh, I'm sorry.” She tried to plaster on a serious face but failed. I rolled my eyes and scratched my arm. “I was wondering if... if you'd like to run away with me.” Hermione gasped and was instantly serious. “Ron..” I placed a finger on her lips to keep her quiet. “Look, I'm not saying we should elope, though I am open to the idea,” she smiled slightly when I said this. “Just, go to Australia, leave behind the Golden trio and maybe...we could find your parents.”

Her eyes shone and she burst into tears.

Not exactly the reaction I wanted. “Please don't cry.” I brushed away the tears with the back of my hand. “It was only an idea.” But she was on top of me, knocking me down onto the rug and kissing every inch of my face, half-sobbing. “Uh...what?” “Th-that is the sweetest th-thing someone has ever told me.”

“Why are you crying?” “Because I'm so touched!” She finally met my lips and after kissing me for what seemed like hours she pulled away and smiled a watery smile at me. “I would love to go to Australia with you.” She kissed me again, and this time I was over my shock and kissed her back, on hand in her hair and an other on her back.

When we pulled away, I'm not sure who did it. Maybe we pulled away at the same time? I dunno. She smiled warmly at me. “I love you.” she whispered. Warmth spread out through me, and I don't think I've felt happier. “I love you too.” She smiled again and helped me get up.

“Wait! What's that?” She pulled up my sleeve and frowned at the green spot on my arm. I tugged my arm away and shook down my sleeve not meeting her gaze. “Ron...is that what I think it is?” she asked, her voice wobbly. I said nothing and my silence spoke louder then words. She gasped and laid a supportive hand on my shoulder...

This. Is. So. Cute!

The days till the first class came and went quickly for everyone; even those that were not competing were feeling nervous for those that were. I was feeling nervous for my friends that were competing; not for Draco, however. He had caused me and my friends so much trouble over the years that I really couldn't care that much about him. Sighing, I closed the large bound book I had been reading and placed it on the redwood table beside the sofa I was perched on. It was late at night, and I was sitting in front of the roaring fire in the common room. Not many people were still up, and for that I was glad. I should have been happy, I know, but I wasn't. Something was bugging me – eating away at me – and I was hopeless at figuring it out. All I knew was that something bad was going to happen soon; I suspected in the games.

Shaking my head, and the thoughts away with it, I rubbed the exhaustion from my eyes and stood up, yawning and stretching my arms. I should probably get some sleep, I thought. I knew tomorrow was going to be a busy day: The last day of normalcy before the games. Friday, to be exact. I was both excited and scared. Now, however, my bed welcomed me and I went willingly to it.

The next morning, the sun shone brightly and I was woken by a loud bang that came from somewhere on my right. Groaning, I turned to my side to find the source: my friend and best mate Seamus was jumping on his left foot as he held his right in his hands. He hopped around the stone floor muttering curse words to himself as I watched, and I couldn't help but laugh.

“What have you done mate?” I asked him, pushing myself into a sitting position in bed. Seamus turned at my voice and gingerly placed his foot on the floor once more.

“Sorry if I woke you mate, dropped my book on my foot...” He bent to pick it up from the floor and threw it at me as I tried and failed to hold in the laughter. Dodging the book, I bent over, holding my sides as I continued to laugh. “It's not funny!” Seamus cried. I nodded and wiped the tears from my eyes.

“Of course, sorry mate, but how on earth did you manage that?” I asked catching my breath. Seamus began to explain how he had woken up early and started reading before deciding to change and go to breakfast without waking anyone up. I sat down on the side of my bed again and looked around the room. More people were groaning and shifting in the beds indicated they too were slowly waking up. It was a Sunday after all; no one likes being woken up this early on a Sunday.

“...and then the book just slipped from my fingers and fell onto my foot!” Seamus was telling me as I focused my attention back on him.

“Nothing just slips from your hands and falls you know…” I told him, going in search for some new clothes. Seamus did the same as Neville sat up in bed.

“It does, we are wizards, anything can happen!” Seamus insisted.

“You probably just imagined that something happened, you probably dropped the book,” I tried telling him, but Seamus was shaking his head vigorously.
“No, someone made it move, I had a firm grip on the thing..” he insisted. I sighed as I pulled some jeans and a top on.

“What are you on about?” I heard Harry ask from the other side of the room as he stood up from bed; turning my head, I watched him stretch.

“Seamus thinks someone's making his books fly across the room,” I told him, rolling my eyes.

“I never said making them fly, besides my book fell onto my foot!” Seamus cried, and again I rolled my eyes.

“You’re tired mate, what time did you get to bed last night?” I asked him, pulling on my shoes.

“Earlier then you, that's for sure. What time did you finish that book of yours last night?” I heard Seamus ask; I shrugged and hazarded a guess.

“I dunno, midnight. I couldn't sleep…” At last I was ready for the day. I sat back on my bed as Seamus, too, put on his shoes and Harry pulled on a jumper. As for Neville? He was still sitting in bed, looking green in the face.

“You all right Neville?” I called across the room, making him jump; he looked my way but said nothing. In the end he nodded and pulled the covers off himself and stumbled out of bed.

“Yeah..” He sounded half hearted about his answer however; I figured I had a fair guess as to what he was thinking.

“You'll do fine mate, you’re a hero, never forget that,” I reassured him. Neville smiled at me—a smile which I returned—but I couldn't shake the feeling he had a good reason to be afraid, something wasn't right. “Anyway, I'm starved let's go to breakfast!” Jumping up from bed, I walked towards the door and Seamus followed with Harry. Stopping at the door I turned to Neville, “You coming mate?” I asked.

“I'll be down in a minute,” He responded with a nod.

“I was NOT imagining it when I said someone made my book fall!” Seamus cried as we left the dormitory. So he was still on that. I hit him mockingly around the back of the head and said;

“Give it up mate, you were dreaming...” With a laugh I ran down the steps and into the slowly filling common room below.

But oh, no I don't have a good feeling about this. Everytime something big happens at the school, something always goes wrong.... I hope it's no one but especially not Gin, though that would make for interesting chapters.

PAMS!

I couldn't stop the shivers of excitement that were running down my back. I had no idea what the challenge was, just that the moment the curtain infront of me was lifted, I would have to run and grab the portkey.

My bright, flaming, red hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, keeping every strand of hair away from my face. I wanted to run out into the stadium and start whatever I had to do.

I couldn't help but think of Harry wishing me luck earlier and my heart skipped a beat.

Harry sighed and pulled me into a hug. “Be careful...” I smiled gently and stroked his cheek. “Don't be stupid. I'm going to be fine.” He shook his head but didn't say anything.

“Go on and kick some butt.” He murmured but I wasn't concentrating on that, just how close he was and how I could taste his scent on my tongue. I leaned in closing the distance between us and he placed a hand on the small of my back, the other on my neck, holding me in the kiss. I stroked his lower lip with my tongue and he let me increase the passion of the kiss.

A throat cleared. We pulled away and I clenched my teeth. Why were we always interrupted? It was getting ridiculus.

Harry sighed. “Good luck Ginny.” I pecked a quick kiss on his cheek and gave him a look that hopefully told him that we'd pick up where we left off.

From the expression on his face he certainly got it. I winked and smiled at George who was quirking his eyebrow. “C'mon brother. Let's go win this challenge.”

And now, there I was, biting my lip in anticaption.

A bell went off somewhere in the distance and the curtain rose. I moved into the dazziling light. I could see Neville, George, Malfoy, Pavarti and Lavender looking all slightly confused to. A massive goblet stood in the middle of the arena. The crowd fell silent. Neville was the first to break out of his trance. He ran at the cup and I suddenly chased after him, adreniline pumping in my veins. It made me run faster and I was the second to reach the portkey.

I grabbed it and could feel the portkey viberate underneath my touch and everyone except Pavarti sailed up in the air. She shreaked in outrage but it was fading into the distance. I didn't want to think about her. It was her fault if she'd lose. I gave Malfoy an ugly look full of hatred and smiled awkwardly at Neville. I let go of the goblet when I could see the ground., wanting to be the first to get a head start.

“AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!” Blood roared in my ear and I hit the ground with a thud. Soon others were falling around me but I was already on my feet, not bothering to brush the muck and grass stains on my shins. I was in a clearing in a heavily wooded area. The sky above me was a deep purple of dusk – strange, seeing as when I left Hogwarts, it was noon.

The purple of the sky was silhoutting the trees beautifully. It took me a moment to start breathing again and then a roar echoed throughout the forest. I jumped in surprise, whipping out my wand. I exchanged a look with George and Neville, gave them a smile that hopefully said 'good luck' and headed into the forest.

I wondered through the forest, my wand out at the ready. I couldn't help but think of the prize. Another roar shook the forest and it was louder and much closer. I walked towards it, knowing that it was probably the ticket to winning the challenge.

I walked out into another clearing and stopped in my tracks. ('Oh yes! Now this will be fun' I thought) A chimera was standing in the middle of the larger clearing, facing away from me. My heart started to pound and I was shocked, even though I was so excited. I thought the Wizard Games was supposed to be safe? Different from the triwizard tournament. I barely registered that Neville was sending hex after hex at the chimera. I was finding it hard to breathe.

I'd never seen a chimera before. Just sketches, and a few roaring pictures in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them' and 'the Monster Book of Monsters'. It was more amazing and terrifying then any of the pictures or discreptions. It was huge, with the head of a lion. It had the middle of a goat and the tail of a dragon. Steam was issuing out of both it's nostrils. I think I read somewhere that the females could breathe fire.

I came out of my trance long enough to shout “DUCK NEVILLE!” Neville looked around before hitting the ground. A long stream of turqoise flames sailed over the air above his head. I grimaced. What the hell? Why had I just helped my competition? A distant scream and cheer. I felt confused. Where was that coming from? The chimera turned around and a low growl rumbled in it's throat. Whoops. I remembered my wand, and shouted the first jinx that popped into my head. “CUNFUNDUS!”

The chimera blinked and started meowing, lying down on it's belly, licking it's uh...hooves. Neville smiled at me. “Thanks Ginny.” “What do we have to do...?” But even as I asked, I knew. The chimera was shimmering slightly, much like a port key. Neville sighed, “It's a portkey – to get back home.” He confirmed. “We can't destroy it, 'cause then were stuck here, but we have to touch it.” I sniffed. “That's great. Just great.”

Then George, Draco and Lavender emerged from the forest at almost the exact same time. Just then, the chimera decides it didn't want to be a cute little kitty anymore. It roared in angry and shot fire at Lavender who squealed and just had time to fall on her stomach. “We have to work together!” I shouted at the others. “THERE'S NO OTHER WAY!” We shot spells and hexes at the chimera, sometimes one of us would get close to the monster but it would roar and shoot streams of fire in our ways and we'd lose our nerve.

“WE – NEED – SOMEONE – TO – DISTRACT – IT - WHILE – OTHER'S – GET – TO – THE – MONSTER!” shouted Neville as everyone's jinxes bounced off the Chimera harmlessly. “LET – MALFOY - STAY!” Shouted George, jumping out of the way of flames. “WHAT?!” Roared Malfoy. I gasped and pushed him down to the ground as flames flew over both of our heads. He looked slightly disgusted at me as I lay on him, breathing heavily. Blushing heavily, I rolled off and stood up. “I'LL STAY!” I shouted. “NO WAY IN HELL!” Snapped George and Neville choroused “NEVER!”

I grimaced and sniffed. “GO...Now.” I said softly as I cast a bat bodey hex at the chimera, making it look at me and roar in annoyance. Everyone ran, and I stayed put. As soon as Lavender touched the chimera the monster and the scene around them faded to reveal the quidditch arena, millions of people roaring and cheering. It. Was. Fake? I felt stupid and dimwitted, wanting to get sick.

I looked down not meeting anyone's gaze. How could I not have realized?! Angie, McGonagall and Flitwick were sitting at the very front, positively beaming. I knew my cheeks were red, glowing like I just stook my elbow in a butter dish. I met the one pair of eyes I really cared about – Harry's. He gave me a smile but there was something in his eyes that told me the smile was forced. My own flickered.

“We will call up the contestants one by one to judge them.” McGonagall's voice was magnified by her wand. “Pavarti Patil.” Pavarti walked up, looking disgruntled. “We were very sorry that you missed the 'port key'.” McGonagall said formily. She rose her wand and, much like the Triwizard Tournament, shot a silvery ribbon that took the form of a 1. Angie and Flitwick both shot out a 0 and a 1. Pavarti walked off into the back of the stands to sulk. “George Weasley.” George walked up, grinning.

“Due to the fact you were willing to sacrefise Mr. Malfoy, you will lose points. But other than that you did a fairly well.” McGonagall announced before shooting an 8 from her wand. Flitwick gave him an 8 aswell. I felt myself clench my fists. Would Angie be biast because George was her boyfriend? Turns out I was very wrong. George got a 5. He didn't look too pleased.

I did pretty well. Second best, next to Neville. I leaned against Harry's knees. I usually sat like this. I yawned. What a bloody day. Ridiculous. I was incredibly tired but didn't want to sleep. I didn't want this feeling to end. The happiest I've been since the war and F-Fred died. Harry and I had had our own celebration, including a lot of stuff Ron would slaughter Harry for.

“Gin?” “Yeah,” I said sleepily, leaning my head back to awkwardly look him. “You are really good out there.” I grinned tiredly. “Thanks.” He paused. “You looked pretty hot too.” I wasn't so tired any more. I hopped up and grinned excitedly at him. “Oh really?” He blushed and looked away. “Yeah...” I kissed him softly.

Okay, all caught up.
