Im sorry guys, for the long wait and all. But here is the next chapter, and before i start i'd like to say thank you to Maura for her help again.

So much was happening at once, and it wasn't long since the last battle - the biggest battle I had ever witnessed. I wasn't going to pretend and say that I was not scared, because hell, I was scared out of my mind, but now there was some sort of wizard games going on. The castle hadn't even been rebuilt yet! Not even a little. But that wasn't my place to say. I had better things to do anyway, now that the world was safe. (Thinking that made me smile wryly to myself. It sounded so cheesy and fake, like something from a Muggle comic book. “Super Potter saves the world from the evil villain Lord Voldemort!” the tabloids would scream.) I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind as I made my way down to the Great Hall, taking the stairs two at a time. I was pretty hungry.

Just as I touched the floor outside the Great Hall, I almost ran into Luna, who was as dreamy as ever. I smiled, it had been so long since I had seen her, and she naturally brought a small smile to my face even if she was still loony.

"Hello Luna" I said politely, not really in the mood to stop and chat.

"Hello Hermione, I hope you are well?" she asked in her slow, dreamy voice. I nodded my head. We exchanged words for a few minutes more before I broke off (I really was hungry) and headed inside the Great Hall itself. Dropping into my seat next to Ron, I pulled the nearest plate towards me and began to wolf down the food. I watched Ron raise his eyebrows at me as if he could only be the pig in their relationship. I rolled my eyes.

"What?" I asked around a mouthful of food.

"Nothing." He responded, shaking his head. I put another forkful of food into my mouth before settling my cutlery down. I looked around me to notice who was or wasn't there. I recognized a few friendly faces as I flicked my eyes around, but there were also some people I only knew by face, not name.

"Where are Ginny and Harry?" I asked Ron; I looked left and right up the table to see if they were somewhere else along the table, and I just hadn’t seen them. No such luck. Ron shrugged his shoulders. Not that he'd care to be honest. I sighed.

Boys.

"So are you going to enter the wizard games?" I asked him, perking up. I smiled my sweetest smile in his direction and waited for his answer. I took a small sip of my pumpkin juice; Ron gave a short laugh before he answered.

"No thanks, I’ve had enough excitement for one lifetime," He said.

"Come on Ron, this is different! You should enter, it'll help you in the future." I felt I might have been my usual bossy self so bit down hard on my lip. He’d never liked that. I had the strange idea that we had already had this conversation, like déjà vu. And by the look of Ron's face he thought so too, but I wasn't backing down.
"You’ll win, I just know it!" I added smiling, he shook his head.

"No" he simply said taking a sip of his drink. I gave him a playful glare. "You enter, then," he said, looking at my face.

"Maybe I will," I joked sticking my tongue out at him. Ron suddenly leaned forward and kissed me lightly on the lips. I jumped a little in initial shock, but then I relaxed, leaned forward, and my eyes drifted closed. After a second it grew deeper and I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. One of his hands cupped my jaw, and I could feel the other on my back, pressing me closer. My stomach tingled. This was why I loved Ron so much, for moments like this. After what felt like a lifetime, but could only have been few seconds, we broke apart.

"You’ll do great" he whispered in my ear, he was clearly out of breath.

"Whoa, if that’s going to be your reaction, what are we waiting for?" I whispered, suddenly serious. After another small kiss I reluctantly pulled away and made to grab my bag. Parchment and Quill in hand I began to scribble.

"What are you doing?" I head Ron say next to me, but it felt light-years away all of a sudden.

"Entering of course," I replied finishing what I needed to write. Standing up, I put my hand out for him, which he took instantly. Bag over shoulders we headed to the entrance hall. It was only a short walk, but with Ron's hand in mine I loved every second of it.

"I was only kidding you know," Ron said as we stepped into the entrance hall. The goblet sat in the middle of the room. It was subtly there, but our eyes were drawn straight to it. It looked a lot like the goblet of fire, but different in features. We stopped, both taking a deep breath before stepping over the white line that surrounded the goblet. I stood on tiptoes to drop my piece of parchment into the object, setting myself on my own two feet, Ron holding my waist to help (I had always been on the short side) and stepped back out of the magic circle pulling Ron with me. It was done. There was no turning back, though I had the sudden urge to un-enter. I was hitting myself mentally. What was I doing? I was now entered into the tournament, and what if it was my name that actually came out? I didn’t want all that! How had Harry done it? I panicked.

Before I could dwell on it anymore I felt Ron squeeze my fingers as we watched the cup. "You’ll do great!" he repeated, looking sideways at me. I didn't reply, I didn't need to reply. He knew what I was thinking. After one more look at the goblet we turned and headed towards the grounds, hand in hand, unaware that the now surprisingly quiet Great Hall had watched the whole thing.

Great chapter Eviee!! I love Ron and Hermione so much! I really liked the fact that Hermione entered the tournament and not Ron.... it's original!

sorry for the delay everyone, I made a nice long chapter to make up for it AND this is a two part chapter. So after Evie posts the next chapter, I'll continue this. With a linky to this to let you catch up!

Chapter 13 part 1:
McGonagall; A History

Some Suspicous Person...

I stared at the copper cup with blue flames. I sighed. "I'm going to do it." I took a deep breath in and pulled out a crumpled tissue. A slightly used tissue. ...Maybe not. I thought vaguely and looked around the wand-lit room. Pieces of burnt paper lay around the Goblet. I tried not to look at the names but I couldn't help it.

I glanced down and gave a low whistle. So the Goblet didn't think Harry Potter should enter the Wizarding Games. ...Weird. I gulped and grabbed that piece of paper. I quickly scribbled out Harry's name and wrote my own with an everlasting quill. I stared at my scribbled writing.

"I can't do it. I'd be crap in the Wizard games."

But I guess I was holding the piece of paper to loosely and a blast of wind sailed through the open door and lifted up the parchment. It zoomed over the Goblet and I let out a sigh of relief that it didn't land in the blue flames. But the Goblet had other ideas. The flames went extremely high and caught the piece of parchment with my name on it.

"Oh no." I whispered hoarsly.

Then I heard steps running away. ...Someone had put my name in. Now all I could do was hope that the Goblet would NOT chose me.

Normal P.O.V

Headmistress Minervra McGonagall liked to think she was a tolerable woman.

She tolerated with the first years when they were homsick - sometimes she'd even brought them hot choco and gave them a hug. She tolerated Fliche's constant whining. Heck. She even tolerated the Carrows - she would always do stuff like that for her pupils.

...But she would not tolerate what was before her eyes right now.

It was great to see love after such a legendary war. And Minervra knew all to well that teenagers had...well, feelings but this was rediculous! The young couple hadn't even noticed her presence. They were in a corner, looked in a tight embrace up against wall. The two were kissing so fiercly that Minervra couldn't even tell who was who! All she could tell of their features...well nothing.

She cleared her throat. The two continued. She cleared her throat again...louder this time. No responce. Minervra was getting ANN-OYED. She whipped out her wand and whispered "Aguamenti." Water flooded from the tip of her wand and shot the young couple with water.

The two turned around and looked incredibly annoyed. Their glares
disspeared only to be replaced by fierce blushes. Minervra thought she'd be surprised. ...Of course she wasn't. The Weasleys' were involved. ...They usually were.

“Mr. Weasley! Miss Johnson! What do you think you are doing?!” Of course she knew exactly what they were doing – but she would make them blush. That was, the McGonagall way was it not? It wasn't the Minervra way but still. The couple shuffled their feet. No answer. Minervra narrowed her eyes. “I wish for an answer. I will wait right here until I hear one.”

George Weasley looked up at Minervra. A frown flashed across her face but disappeared quickly. When Minervra was watching him, the young wizard seemed to having fun but know Minervra could see load sof emotions in his wide, sad, brown eyes. And not one of them was happy.

“Uhm...Well, professor- Headmistress McGonagall, we were...we were...well, we were snogging...”

Ugh. She hated that term. 'Snogging.' People could atleast try to sound posh or something but nope. They choose to use something that sounds like passing a disease. Actually 'snogging' or kissing was passing diseases!

“Well, I do NOT want to see it again. No public displays of affection. There are youngsters around here.” Minervra snapped (but not too harshly, mind you), while fiddled with the golden band with a single ruby on it. Angelina and George went a deeper shade of red. “Yes, Headmistress.” They said in unision. Minervra sighed and turned on her heel and walked off.

McGonagall walked to her office and shut the door. Albus Dumbledore's painting was now moved over a space. Over her desk, Severus Snape's portrait was gazing out the window while all other portraits slept.

“Severus.” Minervra gave him a curt nod which her returned. She sat at her desk and stared at her ring. Her beautiful ring. She couldn't stop the memory that she loved so much. But after that memory, she knew her most hated would come.

A twenty-year-old Minervra McGonagall came running to the sound of the door opening. There, at the front door was one of the most handsome men she ever saw. “Artie! What are you doing here?” She gasped, but sprinted over and hugged him anyway. Artie ruffled his mousy, floppy hair, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

“Well, I was wondering, Minervra. Minnie.” He stepped away from her and pulled something out of his coat pocket. When he opened the tiny little box there was a gold band inside with a single bright red ruby. Minervra's eyes widened. “Will you marry me?” Minervra kissed him. “Of course!” Artie giggled stupidly. “Great. Hehehe.”

Minervra smiled. Then the next memory hit her hard and she winced.

The stone wall felt cold against my hand as I leaned across it, peeking around the corner slightly to watch the couple that stood there. He held her in his arms while she had her arms wrapped around his neck. They were in a passionate embrace totally oblivious to someone watching them. I felt anger boil up from my stomach. She was totally stealing my man! He was mine and that...girl was stealing him. My hands curled up into fists as I continued to watch and just as I had the mind to storm in and make a scene I heard someone say my name behind me.

"Lavender?" I whipped around to find Neville behind me, nervous. I sighed.

"What do you want, Neville?" I asked him, peeking back over my shoulder at the kissing couple. I didn't notice Neville look as well.

"You should leave them alone, you know," He responded. Oh, sure, trust him to be the responsible one.

"What do you really want?" I asked, getting a bit annoyed. He looked more nervous than before.

"They love each other you know, maybe you should leave them be," he continued looking down at his hands. I knew now why he had come to me, and frankly I didn’t want to hear it.

"Just leave me alone" I turned away from him to find that Ron and Hermione had left while I had been talking to Neville. I turned my frustration towards him

"Why couldn’t you have left me alone?" I demanded, "I will get what's mine sooner or later and I don't care what anybody says!" I cried before pushing past him and running down the hall. I whipped tears from my eyes as I ran, not really caring who saw me, as the halls were more packed these days due to the coming cold weather. I knew I pushed past a few people and heard yells as I ran. Some were full of concern, some anger.

Within minutes I was outside in the cold weather, I pulled my not so warm jumper towards me as I ran a good distance away from the castle. I threw myself down to the ground and burst into more tears. I really don't know how long I was on the cold grass before I felt someone sit next to me. I peeked though my fingers and wiped my eyes to find Ron sitting next to me.

"Neville told me he saw you," He said after I had sat up fully, my face quickly re-buried In my hands. He continued, "You need to stop this, Lavender. I love Hermione and that's that." I let my hands drop to look at him.

"But what about us?" I said.

"There is no us, and there never will be!" I heard him say. Tears started falling from my eyes again. "You need to understand that." He added last before standing.

"You'll regret it...choosing her over me," I threatened.

"No I won’t, she's the most beautiful women I’ve ever met," he said, standing up and walking swiftly away. A thought came to my mind as he went: It must have hurt him a lot to say what he said, because he had never been an emotional person. Maybe he was changing, I thought.

I wiped the rest of my tears away before standing up, brushing any grass from my clothes. I wouldn't stop loving him, I knew, but I also knew he was right: I needed to stop loving him. Find someone else. With a sigh I began to walk back to the castle.



I felt Ron sit down next to me at the breakfast table, Ginny sat on the other side of me while Hermione sat opposite with Neville. It felt like the old gang, plus extras were all together again. I smiled to myself at the thought, but Hermione broke my thoughts.

"What’s the matter with you Ronald?" I looked at my best friend; I had to admit he seemed annoyed. The famous red ears were showing.

"Nothing." He mumbled, pulling a plate of food towards him to stuff into his mouth. I left it at that: I didn't need to know any more. Let’s say it's a guy thing. Hermione, however, didn't; I groaned as she carried on and looked at Ginny. She smiled at me. She too knew where this would end.

"There's most certainly something wrong with you Ronald....and you would mind not stuffing your face?" Hermione asked, clearly annoyed. Ron threw his cutlery down on his plate and looked up at Hermione, swallowing the rest of his food.

"I told you I was fine," I heard him say as he glared at his girlfriend. Oh dear this was going bad. I tried to break in…maybe keep a little peace…?

"Guys, maybe now's not the right time?" I asked politely.

"Stay out of this, Harry!" they both said in unison. I sighed and went back to my food.

"Well, you don't look fine. I only wanted to know what's wrong," Hermione shot at him.

"Why can't you ever believe my answer? You’ll always question me!" Ron also cried, as their voices began to get louder.

"Well maybe if you didn't lie to me all the time, then I wouldn’t need to question you!" People were beginning to turn and stare, though most of them were already used to the couple’s arguments. It was always fun to watch.

"Lie to you? Whenever have I lied to you?" Ron demanded. Hermione put her knife and fork down onto her plate as she answered.

"All the time! I can never trust you, Ron!" she yelled at him. I looked up at her surprised - I had so far been trying to ignore the latest argument -she had never said anything like this before. I looked at Ginny and Neville in turn - they too were shocked and looking at Hermione. Lastly I looked at Ron. His face was bright red, though his ears were redder. He was glaring at Hermione.

"Fine!" He cried after a moment throwing his arms in the air, "We're through," He added more quietly, pushing away from the table and storming out of the Great Hall. Everyone stayed quiet; everyone in the hall was staring at either Hermione or Ron. I looked at Hermione; she had tears in her eyes.

"I didn't mean..." she whispered.

"It sure sounded like you did…” I said before someone sat down next to me. It was Lavender, I groaned. I really didn't like the girl and neither did Hermione, who was now glaring again.

"What do you want?"

"You’re wrong you know," Lavender started, her voice quiet so only Hermione and I could hear her. Everyone else in the hall began to slowly go back to their own things, clearly thinking the scene was old news. "He told me earlier that he thought you were the most beautiful woman in the world." I heard Lavender continue and was stunned. Ron never said anything like that, even if he thought of it. Hermione was clearly thinking the same thing, as she covered her mouth with her hands and tears fell from her eyes.

"I...I…" I heard her say. Standing up, she ran from the room without finishing her sentence.

"Did he...really...say that?" I heard Ginny ask, clearly more stunned, and she was after all his sister. I turned towards her smiling.

"He sure did." I replied.

"That’s...that’s so sweet." She replied, and turned her eyes to look into mine. I felt my insides melt when looking at her; she was the most beautiful women I have even met. I told her as much as I kissed her on the lips.

“I'm just going to the shops to get more formula for the baby. Okay?”
Minervra McGonagall pecked her husband's cheek. He sighed. “Alright.” She jostled the sleeping baby in her arms and handed him over. She pecked the baby's forehead and nuzzled his cheek. “I'll be right back, Charles. Okay?” She looked up at Artie. “I will.” she promised.

He was only worried, as he had a right to be, because they recently had to go into hiding because Artie had killed a deatheater who had used the Cruciatis curse on Minervra and force her into becoming a deatheater. They knew the deatheater's wife and siblings would come and try to hurt them.

“I love you Minnie.”

“I love you Arthur.”

“If you asked me to travel across broken glass in my bare feet I would. I would do anything for you. Because I only want to make you as happy as you make me!” He had whispered the very same words on their wedding night. She stroked his cheek.

“Why are you acting like this is the last time we shall see eachother?”

He gave her a soft, gentle kiss on the lips that lasted forever it seemed. “It may very well be.”

His kiss never had ended. Minervra still felt it burn on her lips. She was glad about that but she forbid herself to think to much about it for it always made her cry.

She apperated into her lawn. She was allowed to becaus it was one of the many all wizarding towns. Wizards surrounded the house. Flames spilled out of windows. She screamed. “Minnie! Minnieeeeeee!” Artie's voice shouted. She ran into the house even though wizards tried
to stop her.

Flames. Everywhere. The flames made shapes of dragons and snakes and the like. Dragon breath. “ARTIE!” She shouted, only weeping as she climbed over flaming rubble to find her family. She could hear coughing and a baby's crying from the Sitting Room. She ran in coughing and spluttering.

Artie was trapped under the fallen couch. In his stretched out arms were Charles, coughing and crying. Minervra sprinted over as fast as she could. She scooped Charles and tried with one arm to lift the couch but flames were now licking it. “Minnie....G-go.” Minervra was panting and then looked down at Artie who reached out to her. “Not without you!” She took his hand. “Please...Go...” And then he no longer had a grip. She stood shocked but then calling from outside. She ran, covering Charles nose and mouth with her jumper.

Tears ran down her face.

Outside Minervra fell to her knees and hugged her baby to her chest. “Artie..Oh Charles what will we do?” She wept and kissed the top of her son's head. “Mmmmaaaa.” “Mama's here.” She rocked her baby slowly. And then breathing stopped. Charles lovely little heart stopped pounding. Minervra stared at her son. She rose to her feet.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

“Please. No. Please. No. Not Charles.” She listened to her baby's pulse. Minnie's sister walked over and took Charles away and covered him with a white blanket. “DON'T TAKE HIM AWAY! HE CANNOT BE GONE!” She yelled falling to the ground once again and hitting it with her fist.

Laughter. Harsh laughter pierced the air. Minervra looked up. A dark skinned woman with harsh black eyes in a dark green cloak stood before her. Minervra shoot up. “You.” she whispered and ran after the fleeing deatheater. Wizards grapped her by the arms to restrain her as the dark woman dissaperated. “YOU KILLED BOTH OF THEM!”

Minervra sobbed into her hankerchief that was enscribed with 'To Minnie with love, Arthur xxx'. Five years later, Minnie and Artie's mother went after the deatheater for vengeance. It was Artie's mother who killed her. But she ended up killing herself with guilt. Minervra stared at her ring and stopped crying.

Because of Voldemort had caused her to lose the chance of growing old with Artie.

Her Charles would never kick a ball.

And now he was gone.

And she could finally live again.

She stared at her hankercheif and hugged a picture of Artie, Charles and herself to her chest.
