Brown eyes turned to the shopkeep again. They were easy to take care of it seemed, "Maybe Joe won't mind. Seems like it doesn't need much at all." She looked back at Roman and smiled as he put the little one on her shoulder. "He is pretty calm" Which was another added bonus to having him around and Joe not caring. Feeling the puff snuggle against her hair she reached up and gave it a gentle pet. "Super cute." She was sold, it was lightly bouncing and up against her hair. How cute was that??


"Do they get lonely?" Meaning without another one? Maybe just one wasn't a good thing, but she didn't want to get more then one either and was happy when Roman made that decision of just one. Yes, just one was plenty. "I'd never put him in a cage." Not something so small. This little thing could fit nicely into her purse. No way did she need a cage for it. Lifting the little cutie into her hands she looked at him and nuzzled her nose against his fur. "Yes this is the one I want." Her brown eyes went to Roman, "What should his name be?"

Edmund Fairfield had told his daughter to pay a visit to Zonko's whenever she had the time. And since this weekend, she had finished her homework earlier than usual, the little Slytherin decided it would be a great time to venture the shop during this Hogsmeade weekend. And yes, her father was such a child at heart. How very Gryffindor, indeed. Besides, Zonko's was one of the shops she was looking forward to visiting... the other being Honeydukes.

Clinging tighter to her coat, Vivian skipped towards the shop and pushed the door open. She kinda wish she had someone with her, like Skylar probably or Ariadne or Kye or one of her main Slytherin girl friends. But today, she was on her own. Not that she was sad or anything, but some company wouldn't hurt.

Her eyes flew directly to the DUNGBOMBS. Oh yeah, she'd buy and smuggle some inside the castle soon. And maybe save a couple for when she arrived home for Christmas break too. Her dad would be so thrilled about the pranking thing, but mummy Fairfield wouldn't. Still, Vivi was bringing some of them home whether they liked it or not.

She held up a dungbomb and asked the closest person near her (Henry). She didn't know him, but he might have some good stuff to say since he looked older and more experienced. "Are these any good?" For pranking purposes, you know.

This was a nightmare. Emerald started up at the dud and faulty firework wondering if she should use her wand to make it disappear or just let it explode. Glancing to the younglings she looked from the girl to the boy with a slightly wide-eyed and horrified expression as she declared. "You may both buy fireworks but you are not buying a set from this faulty and unpredictable batch. I don't want you to get badly injured by a ware you buy in my shop." Granted she sold a lot of prank wares that could cause some harm but those were never on a scale that could cause permanent injury. A firework had the ability to do that.

Before Emerald could answer the question about prize for fireworks the dud firework hovering by the ceiling above their heads exploded and it started to rain down roses in various shapes, colours and sizes over their heads. Sighing with some relief she said to the younglings her blue eyes drifting between the boy and girl."Firework boxes cost 4 galleons. Frogspawn soaps go for 2 sickles a piece. Do you want to look at other prank items too?"



Emerald listened with one eye to the couple as they conversed about the pygmy puff and where it'd live and such. They seemed like genuine creature lovers at least the woman which she saw as promising for the pygmy puff's well being. Looking over at the man she shook her head. "No the cage is not inclusive it costs extra as well as food and if you want a collar or a leash for the little furball." Emerald didn't mind some haggling though in good fun.

Her gaze dropped to look at the furball before she raised her gaze to the woman's and said thoughtfully. "If you both work full time jobs then I'd suggest buying two pygmy puffs so that they can keep each other company when you are away. All pets can get lonely just like people." Emerald was just looking out for the little puffs.

Ariadne Grahn had definitely heard of Hogsmeade weekends, but wasn't sure exactly what they were. Durmstrang didn't have them. Students generally just let themselves out with the ceremonial dagger and came back before curfew or risk getting locked out in the snow. And nobody wanted to be caught in the snow in Northern Sweden, that was just a death wish. So naturally, she didn't expect the swarm of young children everywhere. She did see prank opportunity, however, and as they were more likely to stock up for the kids, well - here she was.

Right there, at the shelves, the seeker carefully inspecting a bar of frogspawn soap and wondering how much of a rise she'd get from sticking it in her friends' bathrooms. And which ones would react in the best way.

Maybe Justine.

James always took the opportunity to get out. Always. Didn't matter that it was in the middle of the winter and weather was less than desirable. An out was an out. And he liked the cold, matter of fact. It had always been like this though, he used to love Hogsmeade weekends as a student too. Mostly because they were easy ways to get girls. All you had to do was throw on an innocent face and ask for company on a weekend date and forutnatley, they didn't normally just stop at the butterbeer. What an absolute classic. It worked every time.

Being that Hogsmeade was one of his fonder memories from his own school days, it was only appropriate to venture into one of the shops that held those fonder memories. Meaning first destination: Zonkos. Which, by the way, was perfect considering he owed Airhead and Poncho Paul some presents.

But... Where to start.... Frogspawn soap? He made his way over to that shelf, noting that he wasn't the only one with the idea. "Sure that isn't too devious for you?" he said, addressing the woman beside him with a smirk.

Well, heeeelllllooooooooooo.

Colt decided to check out Zonoko's because why not? He needed to prank his little cousins. Well some of them were little and others were the same height. He had to escape his crazy mom and his aunt anyways from their nagging back home. He opened the door and realized it was kind of crowded in this place. He couldn't really even move but he was determined to go to the back and check out what they had. As he maneuvered his way, he saw a familiar face. He grinned and thought he might as well scare her.

He managed to get a creepy spider toy and let it dangle above Echo's head and waited to see her reaction.

Looking around she was just amazed! everything was so cool, looking up she saw a rather large spider. "why hello there" she looked up even further and saw that there was a hand attached to it. Following the arm down she saw that it was Colt.

"nice try, you want to scare me try covering me in dirt or messing up my walk in closet" she tossed her hair back.

Looking around him he seemed to be alone. "you with anyone?" she asked while still wondering if he could maybe show her around.. "because if you are.... well its my first time here believe it or not and i dont know any of these things!!! wondering if you could show me a few things?" Echo felt like she was rambling but meh, she didnt care she wanted to see all the weird cool things.

Colt smirked and noted that. "I will make sure of that next time. I will get a bucket of dirt just for you. I think I get that in the wizarding store if I hurry.." He was of course kidding but in diagon alley all bets were on. "Messing up your walk in closet? I never thought of that but even if I did I think you would call the cops on me. You would consider me a robber.." Yeah he saw her plan. He looked around himself and shrugged, "Yeah I am alone usually." He didn't mind his own solitude anyways.

"Wait it is your first time here...?" he asked skeptically. "How could you not visit this place?" I mean this place was legendary. Well I mean if you aren't a joker then that's probably why. "Yeah I could show you a few things.." He wondered if she was hitting on him. I mean they were the same age and all. Thought aside, he beckoned her to walk with him. "I'll show you this one.." he picked it off the shelf. "This is called the sneakoscope..so basically this thing will light up if someone untrustworthy is around.." He held it for her to hold it.

Henry was still looking for the fireworks when he was soon distracted by other things in the store before he had even gotten anywhere near them. It wasn't all too surprising though, given Henry's nature and the fact that this store had amazing and fun things out on display. Stopping near the edible pranks, they reminded him that he still had several canary creams that he had bought over summer that were still uneaten. How had he forgotten those?

He was lost in thought and half-tempted to buy some Turtle Tarts when a voice snapped him out of his reverie. "Huh?" Henry turned to see who was talking, spotting a younger girl nearby. Was she asking his opinion about them? He figured so, since she was looking right at him.

"Yeah, those work great," he nodded. "If you are looking for something that really stinks." And they did. Not exactly his style, but they worked well for what they were meant for.

Ariadne had never had trouble securing a date, really. Not since she was fourteen and secretly hoping a boy would ask her to the wizarding village ten minutes from school. However, time proved that the less you cared about whether boys care about you, the more they trip over themselves wanting you. Which was an attitude she had taken great care to preserve. Oh, Ariadne, what would your mother say?

Congratulations, probably.

Her musings were cut short, however, with the appearance of someone nearby her. And was that a challenge? Merlin knew she had serious trouble backing down from one. But no, this was likely just casual conversation with a stranger. Possibly flirting, but it was too early to tell. The brunette turned, all heart-stopping smile and amused expression. "Hardly," she said, a dangerous glint in her eye. "Though you seem familiar with the place - does this soap lather well? I quite need it to last a while."

It was one piece of ammunition in a long, long war - you see?

Also, he was very very pretty and she could appreciate nice things. As Cordelia would say: Hellooooooooooooooooo, gorgeous. Never mind the fact that she could already feel the crick starting to form in her neck from looking up at him even in her heels. Oh well. There was no true beauty without pain.

"no no no, no need for a bucket of dirt" putting her hands up she kind of knew he was joking so she smirked. Call the cops?? Colt was being crazy she wouldn't do that to him? Giving him a blank stare she didnt answer, seriously he thought that she would do that???

"yeah, first time.. normally just go get tea or a haircut or even new robes" she didnt have a need to come here, but it peeked her interest today so why not right.

yay, Colt was being nice to her for once. which was a change. "a sneakoscope??? it lights up...if what??" did he say someone untrusthworthy... he handed it to her, for some reason she expected it to start to light up and do something else, heyy guess Colt is trustworthy... who knew. Echo wasnt going to make a big deal about it but she kept talking. "cool" she said and handed it back to him.

"what else?" now she was starting to get excited.

Roman grinned,"Yeah...I don't think you have to worry about your dad, Nat. They seemed alright to me, no trouble at all so I think you'll be able to take care of them quite easily." He chuckled a little when he watched the little puff ball settled comfortably on top of her head. "Hey there, don't get too attached now...I need some petting and attention too." Roman teased, playfully pinching her cheeks lightly.

"We need a cage, french-fry...what if...he wander around when you're asleep or in class, we can't have that." Pets got lost all the time, no matter how small or big they were. "How about this...maybe an enclosed tank with everything he needs inside. There'll be food, water and things...whatever you think its best for him?" he suggested. Looking back at the shopkeeper, one eyebrow raised,"Pygmy puffs have leashes too? Cool. You can walk them."

He thought again whether they should get another one. He answered the shopkeeper lady,"Hmm...maybe one is good for now. We'll let him out to play among the other pets in school. Pretty sure there are others who owned a few."

She looked so damn adorable nuzzling with the little one. Ehem. Naming the pygmy puff was a tough one though. He shrugged,"Puffball? Powder? Can't think of any good ones right now...you choose Nat."

Well of course they worked great, Vivian thought. She wouldn't have expected this shop to sell rip-off products anyway. Though maybe sometimes there were manufacturing problems, but she wouldn't have thought that wizards would have such cases. Magic, after all, did its job very well. She wasn't quite satisfied with the older boy's response, but she considered for a second. "Is it worth buying and pranking my parents when I get home for the break?" Her dad would be so proud of her, she could feel it.

But then her eyes surveyed the other products. She knew there were varieties of prank objects here and she wanted to know what would work BEST, and not just great. She knew they all worked great. Vivian looked back at the older boy. "I need your opinion though," she said, not even caring that the boy was a complete stranger. Pranksters at heart were all connected in a way. It was such a connection. "What would YOU prank your parents or siblings with for Christmas?" Like something that screamed 'Happy holidays! Here, have some pastries that will make your ears grow ridiculously large at an alarming rate.'

"By the way, hiiiii!" The Slytherin flashed her pearly whites at the boy. "My name is Vivian! Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself." She then picked up a bar of frog spawn soap... and cringed. Really? That was insane... insanely aweeeeesooooomeeee!

Oh, it was most definitely a challenge and most certainly flirting too for that matter. In fact, James often tied the two together in a neat little bundle. What was flirtation without a bit of a challenge thrown into the mix, hm? Not fun, that's what. James liked to see how far he could push buttons, it was one of his signatures. Her reaction wasn't one he was entirely expecting, but he liked it. And to show this, his smug lips pulled ever-so-slightly into a a subtle upwards curve.

Who knew what you could find in Hogsmeade, eh?

"Quite well," he nodded, picking the bar from her hands and turning it over in his own. "But it does get messy," he flicked his eyes over to the beautiful woman once again, wondering just how she'd take the disclaimer. "Don't plan to stick around for it's aftermath, do you?" It struck him as a curious sight, she looked well-put-together. What she needed the soap for, that was the current mystery he'd like the answer to. He was very curious.

It was great to be king back in his true element. Merlin knew being around kids did terrible things to his sanity. However, with casual conversation... His usual confident, smug demeanor could finally flourish properly.

Ah, well, see - Ariadne didn't know exactly what his intentions were and thus couldn't exactly take him up on the challenge right then. But flirting was good, she could do that. Piece of cake, she had years of experience under her belt. And that subtle, smug smile? That was definitely pushing all the right buttons. The way it made her pulse quicken was wonderful. Here was someone who could keep up with her - rare as it was.

Maybe Cordelia was right after all, Hogsmeade did seem quite a magical place.

His voice, Merlin, reminding her knees not to turn to jelly was proving to be quite the task. But she needed to be upright for this - and swooning in heels, although attractive, would only prove to be counterproductive. Not the look she was going for in this setting - that blushing maiden look was for high society tea parties. But this? This was a challenge. There was no doubt about it now, especially with the emphasis on messy. Goodness knew she was totally incapable of moving away now, and straightening up and cocking her head to the side - all coy - she smiled. "Now, why ever would I plant such a wonderful gift and not stay behind to watch the result?" And insert pause here, for dramatic effect. "Unless you're the type who prefers not to engage."

Because that would be such a shame. He was pretty. Cowardly would be such a damper. Knowing how and when to make an escape was attractive, though. And it was an art. She'd been working on refining her timely escapes over the years - had he? Oh, she played this game well.

Chandler didn't particularly care for the joke shop, but he figured if Rome wanted to go there it wasn't too bad. Ugh. Kids though. The little ones. None of them had manners and they always seemed to be scuttling about, running into things, and TOUCHING him. Standing as much out of the way as he could, Chandler shot a look at Roman that CLEARLY said, Are you kidding me right now, dude?

Dragging a hand through his hair he raised a brow and waited for his bro to do whatever it was he came here to do. Maybe they could hit the Hogs Head next?

Didja y'all hear that scream??

The Curly Top guffawed at Bentley's less than dignified expression of surprise. "Yeah yeah smack me all you want I still GOT YOU hahahahahahaha!!"

But oh look Bentley dropped things "Awww shucks Bentley for me? So many of my favorite yah shouldnt've." he angled his head and batted his eyelashes in mock flirtation at his fellow Gryffindor. Oh my Gilderoy he's just killin it!

But he suddenly dropped all jokes and teasing when the shop lady showed up. And HELLO SHOP LADY! "Oh that was just Bentley practicing his Moaning Myrtle voice for a play." he said in all seriousness, although try as he might, he just couldnt keep himself cracking a mirthful grin.

”I’m impressed,” he was… Very. Not in regards to the fact that she chose not to play coward, but mainly in regards to how quick she was on her feet. It was refreshing to see that someone could keep up at his pace. Though, her words were impressive too. It was evident that his judgements had been made much too early because she was rather devious. Wasn’t she?

”Are you asking if I’m a coward?” he asked, still with the same subtle, smug grin in place. Leaning forward so that he could lower his voice only slightly and still be heard, he continued, ”Because I will assure you, I am not.” He lingered for only seconds before “returning” his attention to the items on the shelf.

”Am I allowed to ask what it’s for?” he asked nodding to the soap in her hands, mischievous glint in his eye. His previous assumptions had been proven incorrect, now his curiosity had peaked. ”Or is that classified,” was she the ‘if I tell you, I’d have to kill you’ type? Somehow, he doubted it. But he did know that she obviously wasn’t a regular in this particular shop based on the way she had asked her very first question. That and he would have definitely noticed had he seen her before. Her face was not one of those you’d easily forget. Or would want to, for that matter.

Truth be told, Maddie found many of the items in Zonko's juvenile. Still, there was the occasional item that inspired a new potion or two and so the brunette popped in from time to time, just in case. After navigating herself and Thornton into the shop, she slipped past a group of younger students and down an aisle where the sounds of laughter were somewhat muffled. It was as good a place as any to chat, she decided.


"So, how are you? How's home? Tell me everything." She knew he was operating on a rigid schedule but surely there were updates worth talking about, yeah?

She figured the cage would be extra and really she still didn't feel she needed one. "He'll want to play with the other pets. Elle has a hedgehog, maybe they would be friends." Could a pygmy puff and a hedgehog? She hoped so at least. She was going to find out soon since she'd be taking this little cutie back to school with them. She smiled at Roman when he said about Joe, "No I think we'll be okay with him." She hoped at least. He didn't want her to have a cat, but he had never said anything about a puff. That would be what she used when he questioned it.

Giggle...


She was giggling at his words about petting and attention. "No getting jealous of snowball." Yes, snowball was the perfect name, though she hated winder he just looked like a snowball with all his fluff. "He'll just sleep cuddled against me, won't you." Pulling the puff off her head she gave it a kiss and set it back on her shoulder. She looked at the shopkeeper, "We both are students so I dont' think he'll be alone much." She knew she always looked older, but she was only 16.

"Okay, I want him and food for now." She was saying no to the cage and the leash for now. She just didn't feel she needed either.

Ariadne shrugged one dainty shoulder. "I'm quite impressive, last I checked." Humilty? Nothing but a little white lie. Confidence was more attractice and easier to carry out anyway. And devious? Oh, definitely. Thought the innocent look was something quite necessary to carry out her plans with the precision they required - someone had to believe she was not truly capable of them if she wanted to acquire assistance. Devious might as well be her middle name, really.

Ooooooh he picked up on her challenge, did he? Ariadne was intrigued, and on high alert now as proximity also meant that his cologne was invading her senses. This guy was actually worth her time, it appeared. Wonderful, she knew she'd spotted well. "I was simply enquiring about your modus operandi," smiled, all eyelashes and innocence as she plucked the bar of soap back out of his hands. "However, if cowardly isn't your style, I must say that I'm impressed." And his pranking technique wasn't the only thing she was impressed with. He was quite skilled with words.

Classified? She could have laughed, but she would settle for an amused smile and small shake of the head. She could definitely be the 'I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you' sort, but not about such a trivial piece of information. "So many questions, Mister - " she let herself trail off, eyebrow raised expectantly. She wasn't about to pretend she hadn't caught his name, that would have made her look quite the fool considering they hadn't mentioned either. "It is a mere piece of ammunition in a long, long war. And I do believe that you know quite well what it does." You don't look to be an idiot, gorgeous.
