During a Warner Bros. Discovery quarterly meeting, CEO David Zaslav gave some updates and insight on the Wizarding World going forward. Some details about that are below.
The biggest bit to note from the Variety article, according to a Warner Bros. source, there are currently NO active Wizarding World projects in the works at any stage - and yes, this includes any sequels to the
Fantastic Beasts saga.
Zaslav's biggest focus was on bringing franchises back to the Warner Bros. slate, including something tied to
Harry Potter, if he's able to convince J.K. Rowling.
“...And a focus on the big movies that are loved, that are tentpoled, that people are going to leave early from dinner to go to see — and we have a lot of them. Batman, Superman, Aquaman, if we can do something with JK on ‘Harry Potter’ going forward, ‘Lord of the Rings,’ what are we doing with ‘Game of Thrones’? What are we doing with a lot of the big franchises that we have? We’re focused on franchises.”
