Video: First Half-Blood Prince US TV spot (UPDATE #2)
A preview segment for Half-Blood Prince was aired earlier this evening on the CW network in the US, during the film The Game. We have a summary of what was shown in the video, which ran for about half a minute:

Dumbledore and Harry are talking and Harry mentions a girl and says "she's just a friend...." and then they show Harry and Ginny leaning in for a kiss. Next we have Hermione smacking Harry in the library. Then it switches to a scene in a hospital (Ron's poisoning) and Lavender leans over the hospital bed and says "I happen to be his girlfriend". Then it shows a shot of Hermione looking up at the Quidditch stands, smiling really big at Ron (new shot of Ron during Quidditch shown). Next shot that I remember is back at the hospital wing and Hermione responds to Lavender with "I happen to be his friend". You see Harry, Dumbledore, Ginny, Hermione, Lavender, Ron and Snape in this scene. Maybe McGonagall too. Then Dumbledore says "Ah, to be young again..." and then you see Harry smiling really big in the common room.
Ah deary me. That wasn't so great... I find HBP the darkest book in many ways... and this is looking suspisciously like romantic comedy. Shame, it's my favourite book. It should be done properly (with proper gore in the sectumsempra scene! ha no they would never do that...). WB should stop appealing to kids/preteens so much - they're not the ones with the money! Ok mini-rant over. sorry
I thought it was great. And remember, we have seen the dark preview of the movie. This is 30 seconds of the romantic elements. I'm sure the next spot will focus on the dark. The movie I'm sure is at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours long so there is plenty of time for both. I think Yates is doing a great job and alot of the previews I have seen have shown that he is sticking closely to the book. Call me a sap, but I was hoping for the hospital bed scene with Ron. I thought they would have cut that.

I love how they are really starting to show the relationships, because lets face it, not matter if we are witch/wizard/muggle, we all hit romance in our teenage years. haha
I really do hope they stay true to the book in the 7th one, and show those moments with Hermione in Harry when Ron leaves them. Nothing serious, but it did make some people believe that Harry and Hermione would get together.
But I just want that to happen because I am more of a Hr/H shipper haha

LOL. But I never understood why some people thought that though. Godric's Hallow was def a sweet moment, but nothing on a romantic level. Apart from that they barely spoke to each other while camping and it was depressing and quite boring. I had to flip ahead to make sure Ron was there lol.
Besides, why would JKR spend all that time developing R/Hr just to have the biggest cop-out ever in the final book and put H/Hr together? Well this all just IMO lmao.
