Paint.the.Limelight 04-26-2007 11:04 PM

In any case, it looks as though whoever IS holding that sword is about to cut off hermione's head!

pwned kidster 04-27-2007 06:19 PM

luckyangelkmf 04-28-2007 03:45 PM

wow! an emotional book....i'll probably cry when i read it!!! But i still so like the US version alot better!

MusicalHermione 05-04-2007 12:37 AM

Whats the difference between the children's and adult version? Is it just the cover?

lunatic 05-08-2007 07:26 PM

I am both happy and sad, in the same time :S I'm looking forward this one, but this will be the last :( anyway, the covers are telling a story: Harry and Voldemort will (naturally and eventually) fight and Harry will have a new power, maybe Dumbledore is helping him from the sky. Ron and Hermione will help Harry for searching Horcruxes, and this trio will find Voldemort's treasure. And the last remaining Horcrux will be the Slytherin medallion.

HP_Babe 05-10-2007 10:59 AM

It looks as if Harry and Voldy are either fighting the same thing or grabbing for the same thing. And I was thinking that maybe since it's called "Deathly Hallows" that its refering to the veil, because the veil is where all the dead people go, right? And possibly the that curtain in the US version is the veil, and this is how Harry keeps in contact with like Dumbledore and Sirius.

bbswimmergirl12 05-20-2007 05:09 AM

when i get my book im going to be crying too. Even if they don't kill harry (they better not kill him) ill still cry cause it the last book and i wont get to read another new hp book again *blink back tears*

Supernova 05-22-2007 03:52 PM

GODDANMIT!! why the hell did i have to go and read this. Know i have this sinking feeling that Harry is going to die.

Supernova 05-22-2007 04:02 PM

I know everyone is going to think I’m really stupid for not having realized this before when everyone else obviously has , but I thought the other thing on the cover with Harry was a deathly hollow not Lord Voldemort.:head:

barabas black 05-28-2007 07:23 AM

well I am going to hate not having another harry potter book to look forward to!!!. I admit honestly, I never cried at the books, I just got really friggin ****** off at rowlings for killing my first and second favorite characts. I know I may sound weird, but dumbledore was my favorite character. I loved dumbledore more than harry. my second favorite was sirius. I guess I have harrys perspective. I can see what harry saw in dumbledore. his wise saying and his knowledge made him feel like a great mighty wizard he was. yes, It sounds crazy, but harry wasnt my favvie. and the US version is really cool, but If that is the locket on the adult version, I honestly expected a better design than that!!!!!. If harry dies, I will kill rowlings.J/k. but I will be sooo ****** that people wull flinch and thnk im going to throw the dang book at them.lol

Chudley.Cannons 05-30-2007 04:27 PM

I love the British Adult edition and the American edition. I don't really like the British Children's edition.

Can't wait... Loved all the covers.
The man said it's a very emotional book, well add to that the fact that it's the ..... l-l-l-l-l-a-a-as-s.... Can't even say it... :(

catapillar83 06-08-2007 09:14 PM

gee this is all really exciting, but saddening at the same time. The last book =(

ProfessorKagome 06-12-2007 04:21 PM

In my opinion, it looks like he-who-must-not-be-named is holding his hand out like he was saying stop rather than reaching for something. Maybe something is comming at him and he's holding his hand out to stop it or whatever. As for the matter of the shadows in the background, I believe the to be either part of the order, OR maybe deatheaters, OR Dead souls from behind the curtain.
I dont know, but forsome reason why the orange sky makes me think of Phawks. (OMg i am so sorry I spelled it wrong). I am a bit confused about the thing around harry's neck, but by looking at the cover of the adult version it appears to be the locket of salazar, so I am led to believe that harry has one of H-W-M-N-B-N's horcruxes around his neck. Maybe he found that it rotects him, because maybe to kill Harry, He-who-must-not-be-named would have to destroy one of his Horcruxes. But then I think, that shouldn't be a problem for him because if he should succeed at killing Harry he could just make more, unless that one is somehow more powerful. Of course I could be taking this in a different direction. I mean it might not even be the locket. (But if it is, maybe it gives harry more power that he will need to defeat HIM.

I just realized. My mistake, upon taking a closer look at the book cover I realized that the thing around harry's neck is a little bag holding something, It isn't a locket at all. But what could the bag be holding? Well it has to be something Magial of course, but we dont know if it will aid harry in fighting. If they are behind the curtain then maybe it helped harry get through without dying, I am really confused...

I'm not sure I like Bloomsbury's children's edition, but the adult and the Scholastic editions are great!

Meritet 06-17-2007 01:18 PM

It is very sad, the fact that it is the last book. I trully enjoyed this series and would have had it that Ms. Rowling should never tire of her wonderful characters (though she has said that she had always intended to write only 7 books). They are trully great and that "I wonder what happens next" will be trully missed.

Magic_volleyball 06-21-2007 01:21 AM

Wants the book really, really, really badly

rodrigogua 07-13-2007 01:00 AM

the scene depicted in the uk children's edition might be the trio looking for hufflepuff's cup among thousands of things

melisia_potter 07-23-2007 07:10 AM

UK adult cover looks so cool!!!
Is that Slytherin's necklace? It looks cool. I want to have it :)
