Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, U.K. adult edition

The UK covers (both kid and adult edition) can be seen at Bloomsbury.com. They include the blurb and the jacket sleeves. Further to that, Bloomsbury have also announced that the book will be 608 pages long.

The blurbs read;
Quote:

Harry is waiting in Privet Drive. The Order of the Phoenix is coming to escort him safely away without Voldemort and his supporters knowing - if they can. But what will Harry do then? How can he fulfil the momentous and seemingly impossible task that Professor Dumbledore has left him?
Quote:

Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety, and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him...
Arthur Levine, the US editor, revealed the US cover art on the Today show. Watch the unveiling here.
Quote:

"We're seeing Harry in a very interesting situation. Readers will find out exactly what the situation is," said Levine, who admitted he cried as he read the book.
When asked about the possibility of Harry dying;

Quote:

Levine held his ground, saying only, "We do know that someone's going to die."
Quote:

"When I was reading it, I had both the excitement and the power of the book, and the plot, driving me forward. But I was also feeling a little sad. It's the last time."

When Levine admitted he "sobbed and sobbed" while reading the book, Vieira made a valiant-but-failed final effort to get Levine to disclose whether Harry Potter is finally done in by Lord Voldemort.

"That means someone we like dies, doesn't it?" Vieira prodded.

"Well, it means it is a very, very emotional book," Levine said.

Well the last one was bound to be emotional, and specially for all of us avid fans who have loved Harry Potter over the years, the last one would've been emotional knowing that this is the last one.

I would like to know that too,........as to who it is.

And I liked the Bloomsbury covers, specially the adult one. Think I wanna get that :)

I'm soo excited! I think DH will be the best and I'm bound to be sobbing my way through it as well. After all it is soo very bitter sweet - we'll get the answer's to our questions but at the cost of this book being the last in the series!

I really like all of the covers - I think the UK one is the most interesting. I wonder how they will relate to the final story.

The US version looks like Harry is in a Colosseum type place. It looks like Voldemort and Harry are both reaching up for something, too. And their is a curtain on either side of the picture and broken wood in the fore ground. I can't tell if the shadows in the background near the arches are people's heads or grave stones. Could they be at the graveyard in Godric's Hollow?

The Adult version is obviously Salazar Slythern's Locket.

The UK version looks like the trio falling through a tunnel into a treasure room. The tri looks pretty banged up - either from the fall or a previous fight. Ron seems to be holding Godric Gryffindor's sword. Hogwarts is on the back cover. The inside front cover has Harry's patronus and the inside back cover has a sperent in a globe...Nagini maybe?

From the description on the book jacket we learn that the Order will be escourting Harry from Privett Drive to the Weasley's I'm assuming for Bill & Fluer's wedding.

I'm really excited! only 114 days to go!!!!

wow the covers say alot it looks like the veil (with lots of money) :) in the english version and a big stadium or fgrounds area in the US one then something of slytherins in the UK adult...hmmmm.....
WOOHOOOO!!!!

Ghidighici 03-28-2007 02:49 PM

Ohhh !... That interview really made me upset...:( Will Harry really die ?!

P.S. I simply loved both covers. ;) :D

Ozzy 03-28-2007 02:49 PM

Oh gosh. I don't do "emotional" well, my mum already thinks I'm crazy with how much I sobbed with what happened in OoTP and HBP... LOL. o_o Shoulda anticipated it was going to be emotional though... *still in denial that this is it* =/

We might have to start a DH crybaby support thread... LOL!

Covers are ace! All of them, even! W00T!

No he's not; looks like there's a house elf clinging onto Harry who has it.

Singularity 03-28-2007 02:56 PM

Embem 03-28-2007 03:00 PM

Yes ! I see it too, now ! A sort of creature holds Harry by his shoulder ! Could this be Kreacher ?! Or Dobby helping Harry ?! I can't wait until July !!!:cry::cry:

Nabs 03-28-2007 03:06 PM

I'm ordering both UK adult and children's version. Again. LOL.

And come on..Just GIVE us the book already! I need to know who dies *dies* Is it Ron? If it is, I'm gonna get soooo angry.

*is too excited to make any sense*

EDIT: And it's going to be Orange! Woohoo!

Singularity 03-28-2007 03:08 PM

And the article is wrong.. At the end it says the release date is the 12th, but it's the 21st..

padfoot_88 03-28-2007 03:13 PM

How awesome...*grins* I'll be getting the Bloomsbury children's version to complete my collection! Then I might collect the Adult ones just for fun. LOL

Mrs Felton 03-28-2007 03:16 PM

All of the covers look great. I especially like the UK Adult version. And the blurb is very interesting.. I can't wait!!

Padie 03-28-2007 03:17 PM

Oh dear me! The covers are absolutely expectacular! :D I wonder what's the meaning beyond them... *thinks*

Hollister 03-28-2007 03:18 PM

:faint:AHHH! I can't take it anymore! Give me the book Rowling!!
*cough* Sorry, just yelling at my computer.. anyway,
Great Cover!
But Harry looks really old and what are Ron and Hermione wearing? Is it cloaks? besides that , Great Cover! [again]
:hourglass:

BrightestWitch 03-28-2007 03:25 PM

Great...if a grown man cried that means I'm going to cry. -rolls eyes- I hate crying! But if its for Harry I guess its alright.

I'm really glad to see that Harry looks much older (and cute) on the cover. Finally he aged.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but what does Harry have around his neck? It looks like some sort of locket or something. Is that one of the Horcruxes? (US Cover)

This is so exciting! :woot:!!! I can't wait to finally read it!!! <3

Undead_Sadako_Sasaki 03-28-2007 03:28 PM

The US cover art is different from the usual cover art. I loved both covers. In the UK version, however, did anyone besides myself notice that there seemed to be a house-elf with a sword- that looked like Godric Gryffindor's sword from the second book- in his hand, he was on Harry's back. It looked like Creature, not Dobby because of the hand and the skin wasn't like Dobby's. Then again it might be a new house-elf. I only saw it because I clicked on the large version.

Eclipsed 03-28-2007 03:28 PM

Woah, the covers look amazing!

Simple Muggle 03-28-2007 03:29 PM

argh!
That sounds soooo good!
I cant wait till I read the book myself.

Yes, this'll be the last one.
I'll miss having something to look forward to.
HP. The best.

JulieAnn 03-28-2007 03:29 PM

I absolutly love it! It is wonderful! At first I wasn't sure, but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. It grows on you, kind of like the title :)

Slytherin Fox 03-28-2007 03:37 PM

Wow, I'm telling you, good old J.K. has really given us a run for her money, hasn't she? I still have the very strong feeling that Harry is going to die in this book, I'm sorry to say it, but I just see that coming. I really hate to say it, but my intuition is usually pretty good. I hope I'm wrong, but we will see!

Rockywizardia 03-28-2007 03:57 PM

*screams* It looks so incredibly awesome! Must...have...

Golden Monkey 03-28-2007 03:59 PM

oh my word I'm going to be bawling like a little baby when I get the book in my hand, in front of thousands of people at that! Seriously the covers looks amazingly amazing spectacularily stupendous! I'm oiung to buy the bloomsbury ones defintly, they look much darker than the other ones, though I just may go and buy all of them
