Tom Felton in first trailer for 'A United Kingdom', to premiere at BFI Film Festival
The first full trailer for the upcoming drama biopic A United Kingdom, costarring Harry Potter alum Tom Felton was released and can be viewed below. Tom portrays Rufus Lancaster, the posh and polished the district commissioner who wants to prevent Seretse Khama (portrayed by lead David Oyelowo) from getting married.
Tom reunited with his Belle director Amma Asante for the feature out later this year.
Quote:
Starring David Oyelowo (Selma) and Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl); and directed by Amma Asante (Belle), A UNITED KINGDOM tells the inspiring true story of Seretse Khama, the king of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana), and Ruth Williams, the London office worker that he married in 1948 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments. Seretse and Ruth defied family, apartheid and empire - their love triumphed over every obstacle flung in their path and in so doing they transformed their nation and inspired the world.
A United Kingdom will have its European premiere at this year's BFI London Film Festival this October, and slated for theatrical release in November.
