I have started doing interviews with some of the top webmasters of other Harry Potter related sites.
I'm starting out with Emerson of
MuggleNet.com
Here's the interview:
Dumbledore of SnitchSeeker.com: Hi Emerson, thanks for letting me interview you! You have one of the (if not THE) most popular Harry Potter sites on the web. What motivated you to start an HP site?
Emerson of MuggleNet.com: I just wanted to make a website about something and Harry Potter was the only thing I liked enough to make a website about.
Dumbledore: when did you launch it the first time?
Emerson: I was 12 years old, and I'm 16 now
Dumbledore: was it called MuggleNet from the start?
Emerson: No, actually it was a links site with an extremely boring name which I'm not even going to mention.
Dumbledore: lol. So when was "MuggleNet" born?
Emerson: My site, which had become quite large despite my original intentions of only making a links site, merged with another Harry Potter site, "The Marauders Map."
Dumbledore: Oh wow! I remember them. Wasn't their site design one big map? And you had to click on different parts of the map to get to the content?
Emerson: Nope, that was "The Magical Land of Harry Potter"
Dumbledore: Was it? Dang you have a good memory! lol
Dumbledore: I understand that you have home schooling. I was also taught at home. Can you tell us how your typical school day is? What sort of schedule you follow?
Emerson: yeah, but.. I don't really have a normal day.
Dumbledore: How do you feel Harry Potter has effected today's youth?
Emerson: It's so unique that even kids who don't like to read enjoy it.
Dumbledore: Other than Harry Potter, what other types of web sites do you visit regularly?
Emerson: My homepage is MSNBC.com and I read 3 or 4 news articles a day. I also spend more time than I should surfing paintball websites.
Dumbledore: you play paintball?
Emerson: oh yes, I love it
Dumbledore: With a group? How often do you get to play?
Emerson: "group"...like a team?
Dumbledore: yeah.
Emerson: I play every weekend. I play tournaments but I'm not currently on a team.
Dumbledore: What do you spend most of your time doing for your site?
Emerson: Reading emails. I get about 60 non-junk messages a day, and it takes ages to get through them all.
Dumbledore: Do you have a theory on who will die in Book 5?
Emerson: I believe it will be Hagrid. We've just seen too much evidence pointing to him. Of course, we could be being mislead, but he still seems like the most likely candidate.
Dumbledore: Who is your favorite character from the books? (if you have one)
Emerson: I get this question a lot, but I really don't have a favorite.
Dumbledore: What about fave book?
Emerson: Goblet of Fire
Dumbledore: Mine too
Dumbledore: ok, last question (this is a two-part): Would you meet with JKR if you had the chance?
Emerson: Of course, who wouldn't? The next question is going to be, "What would you ask?"
Dumbledore: Exactly! lol
Emerson: Again, I don't know. I would probably have a long brainstorm session and think of the best question. That is, if I could only ask one thing.
Dumbledore: I really appreciate the interview.
Emerson: no problem :-)
Dumbledore: Thanks for giving us a great website! You keep up the great work!
Emerson: Thanks! See you.
Dumbledore: ok, take care!
