Rupert Grint confirmed to star in Eddie the Eagle biopic?
 

We reported earlier this month that Rupert Grint was in talks to play Olympic ski-jumper Eddie the Eagle Edwards. The director of the production, Declan Lowney, has now confirmed that Rupert is indeed involved with the movie, and that he will start filming it after the end of the Harry Potter series, which ends production in spring 2010.

This will be Rupert's first confirmed project post-Harry Potter.

We are currently awaiting confirmation from Rupert's publicists about this, so stay tuned.

UPDATE: We've spoken to Rupert's publicists and, according to Rupert's agent, there is no script approved and no deal in place yet.

Wow its looks as if the future is already coming faster than we imagined! I could see him doing other projects and was ok with it because he always went back to Potter so i knew our Ron was always there but now...=(

Oh well Good luck to him though...i'll watch him.

Emma is in college and don't try to short change Daniel. He did an amazing job in the play Equus that had a long run on both West End AND Broadway. He's also starred in The Tailor of Panama and David Copperfield and he's doing the upcoming film, Journey is the Destination. I'm sure Dan and Emma will do more roles when they have time.

They're all brilliant actors who will continue to have Long, successful careers when the HP films wrap up.

But I can't wait to see Rupert in this. He's such a great actor, especially when it comes to comedy. He's the perfect choice for this role! :D

That's cool. Rupert is love. It's cool to see he's going to be in a comedy. It sounds like something interesting. I hope he gets a lot more work lined up after this ... the more I see him in the better. :lol:
