Post PS/SS is a Moms Favourite

'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' came in at 2nd place in a poll involving the top ten books moms would choose for their children.

Quote:
When more than 1,100 moms around the country were asked to weigh in on their top 10 book choices for children, they
favored the classics, giving credence to the adage that "in an ever changing world some things never change." The classic Charlotte's Web took the top spot over the newer Harry Potter, with another old favorite, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory coming in third.

Personally, I would read The Neverending Story to my kids before I read HP, but that's my own preference.

Stories about magic and good versus bad have always been classics. It's no doubt that HP will become a classic of some sort which will bridge the age gaps.

But I still like The Neverending Story better and yes, the original format is a book.

Default #2 Spot

Harry Potter did have some stiff competition, but I'm glad it came in #2! Even if it would be cooler in #1....but I am actually curprised that moms picked Harry Potter. And they didn't question a lot of moms, so Harry Potter sould come in first if they asked more people.

if all of the moms that chose Harry Potter read the book before they voted, HP would probably be #1
