| | |  Pirated copies of Deathly Hallows seized in India
CNN reports that hundreds of copies of Deathly Hallows have been seized in India. A man was arrested following the raid of a printing press, a storage depot and a private home. Four thousands covers, including those of Harry Potter, were also found. Quote:
"The covers look like originals," said Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore police Alok Kumar. "They were being transported to Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkota."
It is suspected that they were to be sent to Sri Lanka. Bloomsbury and Penguin Books, the British and Indian Harry Potter publishers respectively, are said to have begun an anti-piracy drive which coincided with the release of the final book in the series. Quote:
The Bangalore police estimate the value of the seized books and covers to be around to 4 million rupees ($99,000).
"Depending on concrete information, we will organize similar raids," Kumar added.
