| | No Prime Minister, Gaunts or Hepzibah Smith in Half-Blood Prince
As with every Harry Potter adaptation, given the size of the books, some subplots have to be sacrificed in order to transfer the story to the screen. Half-Blood Prince is no different.
W.B. have confirmed that the following will not be present in the sixth film;
- Muggle Prime Minister
- The Gaunts
- Hepzibah Smith

Hogwarts RPG Name: Phineas Fischer Fourth Year | *snortles* MAMA!Shroom WHAAAT??? Subplots my foot! The bit with the Prime Minister is okay, but the story of Hepzibah and the Gaunts are extremely important to the story of the Horcruxes. They could have done them as flashbacks or something. I'm already disappointed with the film. Bleedin idiots |

I have a feeling this will be the most controversial of Potter films if the tone keeps moving in the direction I fear it's moving in. Have they made announcements about Scrimgeour yet? Katie Bell? Kreacher? Dobby?I KNOW you can't please everyone, especially with the books being as long as they are, but I'm a book purist, and it just breaks my heart to see this wonderful writing being diluted to slop for mass consumption. It all started with Cuaron, IMNSHO.

WB has realllllly failed this time. Will I see the movie? Yes. Will I like it? Prolly not.
This girl at work and I said that the British should've just done mini-series for each book so you'd have a 2 hr. episode each week and then nothing IMPORTANT would get cut out and it'd prolly take the same amount of time.
DH has very little that can be cut so I'm not looking forward to hearing about that. Welcome to the club. Quote:

And honestly, I was screaming during the movie because just about EVERYTHING was wrong. Quote:

Anyway, as much as I like Cho, I really do think that the Gaunts and even Hepzibah are more important than Cho. All she does is...what? Cry and date Michael Corner? Was Michael Corner even in the 5th movie? NO!
I'm really looking forward to Luna's commentary, though. They better not take that out. Er...wait. Was that in the 5th book? |
