| | New interview with Jim Dale
The newest edition of AudioFile magazine is featuring a piece including a new interview with award winning narrator Jim Dale. Mr. Dale is the voice behind the audiobooks of all 6 published Harry Potter books. Quote:
Jim says the best reward by far has been the appreciation of his fans. One of the best compliments he ever heard came from a child after one of his readings: "He was about 8 or 9, wide-eyed, and he said, 'You sound just like the characters!' and I thought, that's it, I wouldn't want anything more. That's what it's about."
Quote:
Does Jim wish he could expand his repertoire to other kinds of books? "I don't know whether I'd be any good at reading anything adult," he says. "In the sort of books I record, I'm allowed expanded sorts of characters. I won't say they're over the top, but Harry Potter does lend itself to creating strange voices, strange creatures as well as human beings, and so that's the advantage of being able to do something that's fictional and fantasy. I don't think I'd enjoy a spy thriller or a political book as much."
The article then goes on to say: Quote:
So what's next? Well, the seventh (and final) chapter in Harry Potter's saga is due out next year, and it will undoubtedly be met with equal parts media frenzy and eager listeners of all ages who can't wait to get their headphones on.
Before anyone gets excited, this is still considered a RUMOR until J.K. Rowling and her publishers confirm it!

Rumors aside all I know is: Lissy is Love ♥ & She PWNS! *Smoochies* I love Harry Potter ... I haven't heard the books but ... I think I should buy the audio tapes ... if I read them anymore the pages will fall out of my copies.

Nice interview! The audio has never been of much importance to me because I have never listened to the books on tape! I tried it once and it felt extremely weird and out-of-place so I have never done it again. Jim Dale always has cool comments about the Harry Potter books! That quote by the little boy is classic. I am really starting to hope that JKR will give us an Christmas present and release the title!*crosses fingers*

I just wish the audio books didn't cost so much!!! I love his voice, he gives depth and emotion to each and every character.
