This morning Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) was briefly interviewed on the Graham Liver show on
BBC Radio Leeds.
Matthew talks about the newest
Half-Blood Prince trailer and how good it is, how much darker the story is, the not-so-happy ending to the sixth film and the comedy elements.
He also discussed the progression of his character through the series and talks about how, by
Deathly Hallows, Neville is like a 'freedom fighter'.
Matt also talks about looking beyond the films and being grateful for the experiences they've given him. In terms of the future, he said he's got a couple ideas and friends in Los Angeles who he's hoping will help him out. He also mentions possibly moving to London. Matt says he did some presenting last year for a behind-the-scenes Harry Potter feature, which he enjoyed.
He also remarked on how sad it will be to finish the franchise, noting also that this year, for the final film, he has not been wearing the fat suit he's had in previous movies. He recently got a tatoo on his arm that the make-up team have to had to cover up.
Matt says he has considered doing stage work but thinks he's too lazy to do it and he's hoping that Neville's large role at the end of
Deathly Hallows will help boost his profile. Matt also mentions how his friends and family haven't changed and how much easier it is to see his Harry Potter cast-mates now that they are all older, with some being able to drive.
He confirms that he has done some shooting for Harry Potter 7 but it's confusing because they are jumping between scripts for the both halves. He is back on set in October. He also mentioned his recent charity work and music festivals he's due to attend.
Matt also talks about how shy but lovely J.K. Rowling is and how he went up to Edinburgh, Scotland for the launch of
Tales of Beedle the Bard.
