Post Mike Newell speaks about 'Goblet of Fire'

Empire Magazine has a short article about 'Goblet of Fire' in which Mike Newell talks about the film and how it differs to the earlier movies.

"This one's so completely, radically different. It's also unlike anthing I've ever done before, which was partly the idea behind it."

"Really, the only limitation is what you can imagine, which is remarkable."

"The first two films are very sunny in a way, and very wish-fulfillment-y. But there is no adult challenge. Alfonso put some of that in and I take it further forward. The truth that you tell with and for and about an 11 year-old is different from what you'll tell with a 15 year-old."

That is true but they're not that important in the great scheme of things. I don't think it's a big deal.

"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

I loved the Goblet of Fire just because of all the action that it contained in it. Also because of the fact that different schools other than Hogwarts are involved. I also like that they are noticing more of the changes in ages and what people are like when they're older. Like he said about the truth you tell about an eleven year old and fifteen year old are two different things.

That's very true, just from the trailer it seems to have a more darker and grown up feel to it. It will be very interesting to watch, I just wish it wasn't so far away!!

I kinda find it sad, because one of my favourite parts of the book was that the twins give that ton-tongue-toffee to Dudley and his tongue swolls, I'd wish to see that, only by reading it was soooo funny.

Again, I liked the first two better. But, the mood of the third seemed more appropriate, but the overall presentation of the first two movies was better in my opinion. As long as they stick to the book, they can't go wrong.

GOF comes out on the 30th November in france...!! so unfair! anyway think i'm gonna go over to england to see it! (all the cinemas put the film in french so the characters have girl voices, boys and girls,it's freaky!)
