Jude Law teases 'Fantastic Beasts' sequel script, Dumbledore, love of Harry Potter
Naturally, and ask expected, when Jude Law took part in junkets for Friday's release of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, the press asked him about his upcoming role as Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts film series.
Law, who was interviewed this week in London, admitted again that he has not seen J.K. Rowling's script for the second movie, but it is in final stages and should be completed soon. The Oscar-nominated actor also teased that there may be the slightest chance fans, and Dumbledore, would head to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Quote:
Are you ready to go to Hogwarts?
Jude Law: Yep. I’m not allowed to say where I’m going. Yes, I am very exciting about stepping into those wizard slippers.
Have you already met Joanne Rowling?
Jude Law: No, I haven’t. The script is being completed as we speak. She’s obviously busy doing that and I’m busy doing a play, actually based on a Visconti film, Obsessione. So, no. But that’ll all happen this summer.

Can we talk about the unavoidable excitement of playing Dumbledore?
Jude Law: We can. I don’t have a lot I can say. I know that it’s happening. (laughs) I haven’t read anything. I can’t tell you anything because I don’t know much. I’m very happy to be part of this family.
Are you a Harry Potter fan – or your family?
Jude Law: Absolutely. I started with book one, reading to my children when they were very little. We read all of them until, by the end, they were reading them and I was reading them side by side – seeing who could finish them the first, trying not to give away secrets as we got ahead of the other. And the films, too. I’m a particular fan of Fantastic Beasts. I don’t think I knew what to expect. I don’t think the world knew what to expect. But I thought it was quite brilliant. And it was such a joy to see the Wizarding World in another era, another country. So yeah, I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
Fantastic Beasts 2 will begin production this August, under the helm of director David Yates, along with returning and new cast Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, and Johnny Depp.
