Post J.K. Rowling's 'C.B. Strike' TV series to debut on Cinemax in U.S. starting this June

The seven-part C.B. Strike television series, adapted from J.K. Rowling's crime novels under the Robert Galbraith pseudonym, will premiere on U.S. network Cinemax beginning June 1, 2018, with the first episode of The Cuckoo's Calling.

The next six episodes of the series (including second and third installments of The Cuckoo's Calling, the two-part The Silkworm, and the two-part Career of Evil), will broadcast each following Friday after June 1. Check local listings for more information. A trailer for the series can be watched here.

CINEMAX miniseries C.B. STRIKE will debut FRIDAY, JUNE 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), followed by other episodes subsequent Fridays at the same time.

C.B. STRIKE is based on the bestselling crime novels written by Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Starring Tom Burke (“Only God Forgives”) and Holliday Grainger (“The Borgias”), the story centers on Strike, a war veteran turned private detective, operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street. Although wounded both physically and psychologically, Strike’s unique insight and his background as a military police investigator prove crucial in solving three complex cases that have baffled the police.

The show launches with three one-hour episodes based on the first book in the trilogy, “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” followed by adaptations of the remaining two books, “The Silkworm” and “Career of Evil,” both of which will consist of two one-hour episodes.

C.B. STRIKE is a CINEMAX Miniseries presentation in association with BBC; a Bronte Film and Television production; “The Cuckoo’s Calling” executive produced by Ben Richards, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and J.K. Rowling; “Career of Evil” and “The Silkworm” executive produced by Tom Edge, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and J.K. Rowling.
Rowling recently announced the completion of the fourth title in the Strike series, Lethal White. No word yet on publication date.
