J.K.Rowling will "probably" publish Potter encyclopedia (spoilers!) J.K. Rowling has told the Today Show that she will "probably" publish a Potter encyclopedia featuring more details about her characters and the wizarding world beyond the ending of Deathly Hallows. Quote:

This would be fantastic! I mean, we have great resources as fans {like hp-lexicon.org, for example} that map out the characters, places, and things in the series to make it easier to understand, but I'd LOVE an official encyclopedia with post-DH information included. I knew we would "probably" be able to look forward to something like this after the series had ended. :D This makes me happy! Here's hoping she has a wonderful, relaxing break for a bit, and then gets back to doing what she loves ... and what we love, as well! And I'm glad to have heard some of the snippets of the conversation, like what happened to Hogwarts after the 7th book. That was one of the questions I truly felt went unanswered, so I'm happy to hear more about it! Thanks :D |

yes! yes! yes! *punches air repeatedly!* and u'know. even if she never wants to write another harry potter book, doesn't mean that she won't use that world. kinda like tolkein. maybe the characters will change but it will all take place in the same world. i hope so. hogwarts, leaky cauldron, quidditch, gnomes, peeves... i can't get enough of them. |

She had to know she left us hanging, and she's starting to reconsider and now maybe she will write that book and fill us in. I was telling a friend of my the other day whatever she writes next will also be another Midnight sell out. Even if it's not about the wizarding world. |
Terrific! I was really upset when I finished DH, but I had a feeling I wasn't saying goodbye to Harry for good. I'd love an encyclopedia, there are so many characters I want more details on! And I'm so glad she gave that character a reprieve! (S)he deserves it! |

I'm certain Jo has been reading DH reviews and thoughts on websites like this one. True HP fans still have, she must have realised, so many questions that we need anwsers to. I think the encyclopedia would be excellent, but I agree she should take a break. |

I really want that book. I think if she makes it definate, I might fall out of my depression because I've been depressed since the end of DH. It killed me. I think a Dementor sucked out my soul..... she said something like this on a british talk show that I watched. I hope she does!!!!!!!! oOo, I just remembered, she also said that anything she does write and put there, like an encyclopedia, all proceeds will go to charity. possibly comic relief?? |

this is just fantastic i spent a couple of hours crying thinkinng that i will never have the excitment of waiting for the next book to be releases. Harry has been apart of my life for so long as well its like loosing a close friend i just could not help myself for crying. this is like the best news ever do hope that J.K publishes the encyclopedia, that would be the best thing ever. thank you J.K for making the past few years of my life filled with dreams and adventures through the eyes of your characters |

It was so hard saying goodbye to the books, like watching your childhood end (literally I began reading the books around the age of 8 and in 6 months will be 18...how scary is that? lol) It would be nice to have one final thing to look forward too. Hopefully this last weekend won't have to be my last midnight release party ;) if you know what I mean... |
