J.K. Rowling says Newt Scamander will remain 'Fantastic Beasts' lead, despite reports J.K. Rowling cleared up a couple of things about the Fantastic Beasts sequels on Twitter Thursday, confirming that - despite recent reports - Newt Scamander will still remain as the main character of the saga. Producer David Heyman was quoted as saying that the main four would take a backseat in the sequel to Grindelwald, Dumbledore, and Credence Barebone, but the author and screenwriter of the series stated that this was not the case exactly, and that Newt will still be forefront. Eddie Redmayne will portray the Magizoologist in the five-part film series.

Of course. https://t.co/jrlgbFxI96
— J.K. From the first film, it can be assumed that Leta was a former friend, or even girlfriend, of Newt's, and things fell apart for them. Judging by what J.K. Rowling told SnitchSeeker at the New York world premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Leta may have been the reason for Newt's Hogwarts expulsion: The Fantastic Beasts sequel begins filming this coming July at Leavesden Studios, with Redmayne, Kravitz, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, and Johnny Depp reprising their roles. For everyone who wants a breakdown of the first movie, just order J.K. Rowling's screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Just one thing to note - this is NOT the original script that Rowling wrote and what the cast and crew used for filming, but one that aligns with the final cut of the movie out now. This means that there are no deleted scenes featured in this script, just everything that was already on screen. Yes! :woot: I love that he's going to continue to be the lead character. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! |
hot dayum excellent questions there Team SS! reporting at its finest :woot: yeah i also saw David's interview and it didnt make sense to me-- the quartet getting sidelined in favor of Grindy, Credence and DD? after dedicating a whole movie to build them up? i would understand if half of the second film is dedicated to building up Grindy, DD, Leta and a bit of Credence since now is the time to do so, but im sure the quartet should still be around to help anchor the rest of the story points since theres 3 more movies to go after FB2. |
