J.K. Rowling, 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' cast promote Red Nose Day 2017
The U.K.'s big charitable day Red Nose Day is here on Friday, March 24, and of course Brits at home and worldwide took a comical route to help raise awareness and bring in donations to the cause. This includes the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, who popped on the famous red noses to tell utterly terrible jokes, inside London's Palace Theatre this week.
About Red Nose Day 2017
• Red Nose Day is back on Friday 24th March 2017 and it’s all about your power to make the world a better place, simply by having a great time.
• By raising (or donating) cash this Red Nose Day, you’re helping to change lives. That’s because Comic Relief spends the money raised to help the people who really need it most, both here in the UK and across Africa.
• From workplace bake sales and fancy-dress fundraising in schools, to danceathons, quizzes and surreal sponsored challenges, put on a Red Nose and make your laugh matter by doing whatever you enjoy to raise life-changing cash.
About Comic Relief
Comic Relief is a UK charity which aims to create a just world, free from poverty-where everyone is safe, healthy, educated and empowered. Since 1985, Comic Relief has raised over£1 billion. That money has helped, and is helping, people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world.
Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts author J.K. Rowling donned the red nose as well on Friday, as shown by her Twitter official photo, and reminded fans that all of her royalties for the sales of copies of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Quidditch Through the Ages, would go straight to Comic Relief and Lumos.
You support some of the world's most vulnerable children when you buy Fantastic Beasts, Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages 1/2
For those in the U.K., don't forget to watch the Red Nose Day special Friday evening on BBC One, which will include a reunion of most of the cast of Love, Actually, including Harry Potter alum Bill Nighy.
I'm proud to say I've bought them twice, and I'll surely buy the third edition of FB! I'm so happy I can help who needs simply buying a book: books are one of the most important things in my life!
Well done once again, Jo!
