J.K. Rowling discusses 'Strike - The Cuckoo's Calling', why she chose TV over films BBC One released a new interview with J.K. Rowling leading up to Sunday's premiere of Strike - The Cuckoo's Calling in the U.K. The Harry Potter author commented on how she hoped to not be outed as the true face behind Robert Galbraith until at least the first three books came out - but unfortunately that was not the case (her identity was revealed not long after the first book, The Cuckoo's Calling, was published). The series' producer Ruth Kenley-Letts revealed that Rowling and her team received a lot of calls from Hollywood execs to turn the Strike novels into movies, but she opted for television instead: Quote:

saw the first ep. its pretty good :yes: looking forward to seeing the next ep. so they split this book into three eps? kinda like how Sherlock does things? havent read any of the books so i couldnt compare how complete this film version is to the book version. |
