Post J.K. Rowling as Robert Galbraith to promote 'Career of Evil' on BBC Radio 2 Nov. 2

J.K. Rowling will participate in a second interview as Robert Galbraith on November 2, 2015 with BBC Radio 2's Simon Mayo’s Drivetime Show to promote the release of Career of Evil, out this week in the U.S. and UK.

The Harry Potter author is already confirmed to chat with NPR the same day, under her pseudonym.

Quote:
Radio 2 head of programmes Lewis Carnie said: “I am delighted JK Rowling will be giving Radio 2 her first UK radio interview as Robert Galbraith. The Radio 2 Book Club has become the most listened-to book club, and to have one of the most critically acclaimed authors of our time as a guest on the show is going to be a real treat for our listeners.”

UPDATE:
The full press release announcing the interview, which will take place from 5-7pm BST, can be read here.

The BBC Radio 2 Book Club has secured the first UK radio interview with Robert Galbraith, the pseudonym for the global bestselling author J.K. Rowling, scheduled to broadcast on Simon Mayo’s Drivetime Show on Monday 2 November (5-7pm).

Author of the Harry Potter series and The Casual Vacancy, J.K. Rowling will be talking about Career Of Evil, the third book in the highly acclaimed Cormoran Strike crime fiction series, published today (October 20). The Cuckoo’s Calling was published in 2013 and The Silkworm in 2014.

As well as discussing Career Of Evil - the Radio 2 Book Club choice - and the inspiration for the novel, the author will talk to Simon Mayo about why she has chosen to write crime fiction and under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith, and about the story of how his true identity was broken.

Simon will also read out reviews to Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) from five lucky Radio 2 listeners who applied to be Book Club reviewers.

Simon Mayo, who first interviewed J.K. Rowling in 2000, says: “I’m really looking forward to talking to Jo again and discussing the Robert Galbraith crime novels. Since the last time I interviewed her, she seems to have done pretty well!”

Lewis Carnie, Head of Programmes, BBC Radio 2, says: “I am delighted J.K. Rowling will be giving Radio 2 her first UK radio interview as Robert Galbraith. The Radio 2 Book Club has become the most listened to book club, and to have one of the most critically acclaimed authors of our time as a guest on the show is going to be a real treat for our listeners.”

Career Of Evil is the third in the highly acclaimed series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott. A fiendishly clever mystery with unexpected twists around every corner, it is also a gripping story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.

The Radio 2 Book Club is the largest book club in the UK. Over the past few years it has become the forefront of breaking new authors and showcasing some of the best published fiction in the UK. Simon Mayo’s Drivetime show has a weekly audience of 5.94m, with BBC Radio 2 having a weekly audience of 15.01m.
