This is why I love her and I loved to read The Casual Vacancy! Just as Harry Potter books are, The Casual Vacancy is about real life and real people.

Really glad that question won. Reminds me why I liked the book so much and makes me want to reread it!

This was a VERY good question. And I'm grateful the reader asked it in a sort of open and somewhat vague way giving Jo the room to carry it wherever she may. Something I've always thought to be true was, If a way to the better there be, it exacts a full look at the worst. I'm fascinated everytime she acknowledges poverty of heart with her characters. I find it inspiring more than depressing and I believe she did this as well in her Harry Potter series. For my money I'll never grow tired of reading about it. It's something I wouldn't mind being better at writing myself.
