High definition ABC Family Deathly Hallows: Part II first preview screencaps
 

Warner Bros released a high-definiton version of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II preview that aired earlier this evening on ABC Family's broadcast of Sorcerer's Stone. Numerous new clips from the last Harry Potter film were featured throughout, including the Weasleys mourning Fred's death, Ginny crying out when Harry's body was carried to the Hogwarts grounds by Hagrid, the trio's Gringotts cart ride through the bank's cavernous vaults, the trio fighting and holding onto each other during the Hogwarts fight, Draco Malfoy lurking behind a corridor, and a brief shot of Severus Snape looking at the Potters' home in Godric's Hollow from The Prince's Tale. The hi-def video can be seen below; screencaps can be found in our galleries.

It's so hard to look at the picture of Molly comforting Ron over Fred's body without my heart breaking :'( I'm excited to see what the rest of the weekend has in store though :D

These are so perfect...the movie will be amazing. Rupert looks amazing and the trio as whole look so great. I'm going to cry so much :(

Oh I can't flippin' WAIT for this film to hit theaters!! SO EXCITED. I have to admit that I tear up everytime I watch the sneak peeks and all that. Not just because of the content, but also knowing that this is IT. The LAST film. It is so bittersweet.

Seeing these in high-res (and loving them), I can already get a sense of the intensity in this movie. It makes me want to forget about any book comparisons, 'cause this is gonna be HP at its best!

I gasped when I saw that shot of Ron and Fred. :( Don't forget the Kleenex folks!

Oh jeez! I got goosebumps all over when I watched this! It's very exciting and scary, I can't wait for the movie. It's going to be a spectacular ending. I have a feeling someone's going to cry throughout the whole movie come July

i wanna know who else is in that clip with ron, molly and fred!!!!!! would it have killed them to pan out a little more so i could seeeee!!! harry and george maybe??? but then i'm confused, harry didn't go near the grieving family in the book......but aahhh who cares!!!! it's an adaptation i can live with....this movie is gonna be awesome!!!!!!!!!!! heartwrenchingly, excitingly, triumphantly, jawdroppingly, satisfyingly awesome!!!!! and then it will be over, and then i'm gonna die.......:faint:

Bawled my eyes out from that brief glimpse of Ron and Molly over Mrs. Weasley :( CANT wait for this movie *and all the R/Hr moments too-hey we need the romance to balance out the sadness/tragedy right?

*Sniffle...sob....Fred!* I have to complain though, why the heck does Ralph Fiennes sound like he's suffering from the mother of all sinus infections when he first starts talking????

Could be when he's at the train station (name escapes-so ashamed), about to see Dumbledore...

It's funny you ask that, it's pretty much been the case for Fiennes since he first appeared as is at the end of GoF, and I think I know why. Because the full make up they've got him in for Voldemort, it of course has to make his nose appear to not be there at all, just having the snake-like slits for nostrils, and I believe as opposed to just removing his nose digitally for all of his scenes, I believe what they do is just cover it up, but basically to do so, and to still make that area of his face look relatively flat, they've really got to smush Fiennes' nose down into his face.

And so basically, take your own hand and cover up your nose, even putting a fair amount of pressure on it, and keep it there while you talk for an extended period of time, and I think you'll find you actually sound a bit like that yourself. Essentially it alters the way you have to breath for an extended period and how you clear any mucus out of your sinuses down your throat, and all of that can work to change the overall sound of your voice.

(you particularly hear an example of him sounding strange in the cemetery scene from Goblet, right after Voldy pulls his finger away from having just touched Harry's scar and they're both screaming, and Voldy saying "astonishing what a few drops of your blood will do, eh Harry?")

-this film is going to be so emotional just seeing a short shot of fred..tearing up already

-ginny screaming at the end..cant agree more..looking super intense..i was a bit fearful from the other prview that harry and voldermort would be alone in the courtyard because thats what it looked like...but this shows everyone coming out of the great hall.. because.. i will be heartbroken if everyone is not around for harrys speech to voldermort.. really looking forward to this..i hope that happens

I really can't take this wait any longer, lmao.

They don't do anything to flatten Ralph's nose on the set. All the do is make it blue like the rest of his face. It's all removed digitally. There are lots of behind the scenes photos and video showing his full nose.

From beginning to end I will be sobbing!!!! The ending will be epic!

I believe that's the 10th time I've watched it and it's still AMAZING!!!

Actually, they don't even cover him with blue screen paint of anything. If you watch the makinf-of, you'll see Ralf has loads of little orange, yellow and greean pins all around his face from the lips to the forehead. It's some digital movementcapture pins which record every face movement Ralph is doing and then after they can work of this area of his face without changing his movements. That's why it seems so real.

The first persons to use that were the Lord of the Ring Weta crew and the Pirate of the caribbean did the same thing to record Bill Nighy face movements while making Davie Jones. :)

I didn't really mean blue and definitely not blue screen, just the same pale color makeup as the rest of his face. I was thinking of the shot of him in the Forbidden Forest waiting for Harry.

Hmm, well I must say I'm quite surprised to hear that. And mostly really because I genuinely thought the particular inflection to his voice a good many times when delivering dialog, it seems a natural byproduct of doing what I was describing, physically manipulating the nose.

I just hope they do justice to the scene of Fred's death.

Can't wait for the (teaser) trailer, promos, premieres and press events...
