Harry returns to Lacock for Half-Blood Prince

The producers of the Harry Potter movies met up with the residents of Lacock to negotiate plans for filming for the upcoming movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

In the most recent film, Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix, the cloisters courtyard is enhanced using computer animation and featured as a courtyard in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Around 40 residents attended the meeting and all but one voted in favour of the filming taking place.

In return for the inconvenience, Warner Brothers has promised a sum of £30,000 to be paid to the village, which will be split between the Abbey owners National Trust, and Lacock Parish Council.

The movie-making teams now have permission to return for four days in October and film scenes between 5pm and 5am.

What scenes are filmed in Lacock?

laudienne 08-24-2007 12:00 AM

^ Was going to ask that question myself, as I have no idea! But that's great that they leave it up to the townspeople to decide! Sounds like they're HP fans, anyway. ;)

Cool!

Mari of the Ocean 08-24-2007 03:00 AM

They should let them film in the village!!!!!

Ginny GL 08-24-2007 03:30 AM

Good! It's a great source of income for towns, both from the movie and after it!

c00kie 08-24-2007 03:36 AM

Wow, that's great. ;)
The HP fans in Lacock should be excited!

Katieluff 08-24-2007 07:04 AM

I bet the one that said no was some bitter old man. :P

Do you think the scene is when they first go to meet Slughorn? Ooor the first chapter, perhaps?

jkrsong96 08-24-2007 08:31 AM

That is great! I wonder why the one person didn't vote. I also wonder about the "spooky Halloween" parts...anyways, I can't wait!

The article states that it is used for Hogwarts. I've added a picture to better demonstrate this.

Well they've used the area before in Chamber of Secrets in the scene where Dobby is set free & that's just outside Dumbledore's Office...and we all know Harry spends a lot of time there in Half-Blood Prince.

Ooo please do! But they may not come out well, film crews don't like people using flash photography as it can ruin a take. And taking photos without a flash at night might be rather tricky.
