Post Harry Potter: The Exhibition to extend global traveling tour into at least 2020

Warner Bros. announced that Harry Potter: The Exhibition's global tour's second extension will continue into 2020. The tour is currently in Shanghai, China until the spring. Stops after that have yet to be announced.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and Global Experience Specialists (GES) today announced the second extension of the global tour of Harry Potter: The Exhibition, a 15,000 square-foot experiential exhibition featuring thousands of authentic costumes, props and creatures from the films. Harry Potter: The Exhibition can currently be seen at Super Brand Mall in Shanghai, China and will be followed by additional tour stops in cities to be announced.

Experienced by more than 3.5 million fans, Harry Potter: The Exhibition made its world premiere in Chicago in April 2009, followed by stops in Boston, Toronto, Seattle, New York, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Edmonton, Sweden, Cologne and Paris.

“We are thrilled to extend the exhibition’s tour with Warner Bros. Consumer Products” said Robin Stapley, VP GES Entertainment. “Harry Potter: The Exhibition has excited fans for the past seven years and we are so pleased to continue the magic.”

In collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, GES created the 15,000 square-foot (1,400 square-meters) experiential exhibition, where visitors are able to enjoy dramatic displays inspired by the Hogwarts™ film sets and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes, props and creatures from the films.

Experience the world of Harry Potter!

From the moment you enter Harry Potter: The Exhibition you are immediately immersed in the world of Harry Potter. Guests are greeted by an exhibit host who sorts several lucky fans into Hogwarts™ houses, then leads them inside the exhibition where their journey begins. The exhibition features settings from the films’ most popular locations—including the Gryffindor™ common room and dormitory, classrooms, including Potions and Herbology, as well as the Forbidden Forest and more are filled with thousands of authentic props, costumes, and creatures used in the filming of the iconic series.

In addition to the beautiful environments and displays, the exhibition features several interactive elements. Guests can enter the Quidditch™ area and toss a Quaffle, pull their own Mandrake in the Herbology classroom vignette, and even tour a re-creation of Hagrid’s hut and sit in his giant-sized armchair.

The exhibition is currently on display in Shanghai, China. Tickets can be purchased at www.harrypotterexhibition.com.cn.
