Post Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Belgium extended till January for Christmas season

Warner Bros. announced that Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Brussells, Belgium will be extended by two extra months so that it will feature Christmas- and holiday-season related props and sets from the film series.

The exhibit will close for a week between Sunday, November 6 and reopen at the Palais 2 of Brussels Expo the following Saturday, November 12, 2016. Harry Potter actor James Phelps (Fred Weasley) will be on hand around November 12th to participate in celebrating the re-opening of the exhibition in Belgium.

The exhibition will be open daily from 12 November, 2016 through 8 January , 2017.

Harry Potter™ fans in Belgium will have one last chance to step inside the famous wizard’s world this winter. Harry Potter™: The Exhibition will extend its stay in Brussels an additional two months and add a selection of exciting new props and costumes as well as Christmas décor. The exhibition will close as planned on Sunday, November 6 and reopen at Palais 2 of Brussels Expo on the following Saturday, November 12. The exhibition has welcomed more than 275,000 guests since it opened in Brussels on June 30.

Actor James Phelps, who played Fred Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, will be in attendance to celebrate the extended stay in Brussels for the holidays. The exhibition will run a contest on its Facebook page from November 9 – 11, giving fans a chance to win an opportunity to join James Phelps at the official kick-off of the holiday extension on November 12.

New to the exhibition this winter is a brand new vignette of props and costumes from Warner Bros. Pictures’ highly anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them™, which marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling and premieres in Brussels on November 16, 2016. Fans will also get the chance to see two iconic props: on display for the first time in Brussels, the Flying Ford Anglia from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™; and the giant Knight Chess Piece, which was ridden by Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone™. To top it off, the exhibition will also be decorated for Christmas, complete with falling snow at Hogsmeade Station.

Since its world premiere in Chicago, the exhibition has already received more than four million visitors and has included stops in Boston, Toronto, Seattle, New York, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Paris and Shanghai. Tickets for the exhibition at Brussels Expo are available at www.expoharrypotter.be.

In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, GES created the 1,400-square-meter experiential exhibition, where visitors are able to enjoy dramatic displays inspired by the Harry Potter film sets and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes, props and creatures from the films. Harry Potter: The Exhibition is another magical experience from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. Fire-Starter, Brussels Expo and Encore B are partnering with GES to present the exhibition in Brussels.

“The Harry Potter fans in Belgium have been delighted by the exhibition this summer and autumn, and Fire-Starter and Encore-B are thrilled to give them another chance to relive the magic,” said Manu Braff of Fire-Starter. “We are
also excited to give fans a chance to see the costume and props from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them firsthand,” added Pascal Bernardin of Encore-B.

From the moment guests enter Harry Potter: The Exhibition, they are immediately immersed in the world of Harry Potter. Guests are greeted by an exhibit host who sorts several lucky fans into their favorite Hogwarts™ houses, then leads them inside the exhibition where their journey to favorite scenes from the Harry Potter films begins. The exhibition features settings from the films’ most popular locations—including the Gryffindor™ common room and dormitory; classrooms like Potions and Herbology; and the Forbidden Forest—which are filled with thousands of authentic props, costumes, and creatures used in the filming of the iconic series.

In addition to the beautiful environments and displays, there are several interactive elements. Guests can enter the Quidditch™ area and toss a Quaffle ball, pull their own baby Mandrake in the Herbology classroom vignette, and even tour a re-creation of Hagrid’s hut and sit in his giant-sized armchair.

The exhibition will be open daily from 12 November, 2016 through 8 January , 2017. Timed-entry tickets are required, and the last entry will be one hour-and-a-half before the closing of the exhibition. Tickets to the exhibition are on sale at www.expoharrypotter.be.
