| | |  Fleur Delacour absent from Half-Blood Prince?
In a new interview Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour) spoke about her experience working on Goblet of Fire and stated that she hasn't been contacted in regards to working on Half-Blood Prince. Quote:
For Harry Potter, I spent eight months in London. I was lucky, I am very grateful the producers chose me. They work with class, honesty and ethics. They only see how they leave their free and independent young performers. My participation was modest. I was flattered to find myself on the poster, given the scale of the phenomenon. If I was recognized on the street, it was thanks to Harry Potter. I have not read the last two books. I know that my character returns, but I have not been contacted for the sixth movie.
Nothing is for certain about her role in the sixth film, but we hope to hear something official soon. Half-Blood Prince will be released Nov. 21st 2008.

It seems like most HP stars haven't read many of the books, which is a shame. If Clemence and David Thewlis weren't such fantastic actors, then I'd say that it should only be people who've read all of the books who can be in Harry Potter.

If they plan to leave Fleur (and Bill, for that matter, who's an awesome character) out for the sixth film, they might have to skip Bill and Fleur's wedding and the Shell Cottage scenes altogether, which would suck. And if it's still true that David Thewlis hasn't read all of them, he'd better get to it; his character develops too much for him not to.

Her role wasn't large or that important in HBP so it's okay but I do hope they have her in DH. Her role in GOF was much more significant and she barely made an appearance so it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't make it in HBP. I really did like the beginning when Ginny was antagonistic towards her though so I will miss that. | |

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Fleur in the films anymore. They haven't even INTRODUCED Bill in the films yet, so it would seem a little random in both HBP and DH for them to be together and getting married. That was introduced in GoF, but since we haven't even seen Bill yet, I'd be surprised if the Bill/Fleur relationship and wedding will even make it into the films...
You know, if they cut the Bill/Fleur wedding, maybe they'd make it Lupin and Tonk's wedding. That'd be interesting...and really out of canon. *sigh* It's a shame, but it's not like Fleur was that crucial, other than being Bill's wife...(speaking for the plots of HBP and DH, of course). Although, if that's the case, who will contribute to the 7 Potters if both Mundungus AND Fleur (and Bill) aren't going to appear?

I think she was a really good Fleur! She should come back for the 7th movie definetly, they can make up for whatever they may cut her from in the 6th by explaining and including it in the 7th.

I think it would be amusing to see Fleur in HBP again. I hope she's contacted even if she only appears in five minutes of the film ^^

They could always find another place for Harry and Co. to hide out after being imprisoned in Malfoy Manor (and for Dobby to die... ). But it'd be nice to have Fleur because that would bring back the Champions theme to remind the audience, and we do see Krum in DH. They could theoretically leave out Krum, especially if they nix the wedding, but he's the one that turns them onto the sign of the Deathly Hallows via Mr. Lovegood. So if we see Fleur, we'll probably see Krum as well. Oh, this is making my brain hurt! I'm glad this isn't my job!
