First clips released of BBC One/HBO 'Strike' mystery TV series from J.K. Rowling The first clips from the upcoming Strike series on BBC One in the U.K. (and HBO soon in the U.S.) was released this week by the Associated Press, who chatted briefly with stars Tom Burke (Cormoran Strike) and Holliday Grainger (Robin Ellacott). The first scene depicts private detective Strike getting information from a driver in London, while the second clip reveals the first meeting between the two leads in Strike's office - both encounters adapted to screen from The Cuckoo's Calling. Burke and Grainger, in the clip, also talked about the notes they got from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling (who wrote the books under the Robert Galbraith pseudonym), and that Jo herself was pleased with the first episode's turnout. Additionally, Little, Brown Book Group will be publishing TV tie-in book copies of The Cuckoo's Calling, featuring Burke and Grainger on the cover as their on-screen characters. The book, already available, can be ordered below. The first episode of Strike airs on BBC One in the UK on Sunday, August 27, and presumably the next two episodes will broadcast the Sundays after. |
