'Fantastic Beasts' Eddie Redmayne receives British OBE honour from Queen Elizabeth II Fantastic Beasts series star Eddie Redmayne received his OBE from Queen Elizabeth II during an investitures ceremony at Windsor Castle on Friday morning. The Academy Award- and Tony-winning actor received the honour for his "services to drama" well over a year ago, but now just has been given the opportunity to actually attend the ceremony. A short video of Redmayne and wife Hannah Bagshawe posing for photographers outside the castle whilst holding his medal, as well as shots of the actor with the Queen inside, can be seen here. http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...0683245005.jpg http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...0683259303.jpg http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...0683253949.jpg http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...0682983049.jpg Many congratulations to Eddie on the honour. One thing of note - this is NOT a Knighthood, only the Order of the British Empire accolade, which is given out to many professionals in the arts, sciences, and political spaces. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is an OBE recipient as well, of which she was honoured back in 2001. |
