Emmy Nominations for Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, and John Cleese Article:
In Emmy Award nominations Announced today three Harry Potter actors were recognized for their work in televsion. Alan Rickman (Prof. Snape) was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie : "Something the Lord Made"- as Alfred Blalock. Emma Thompson (Prof. Trelwaney) was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie : "Angels In America"-as Nurse Emily, Homeless Woman, and The Angel. John Cleese (Nearly Neadless Nick) was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series: Lyle Finster on " Will & Grace"
The awards will be presented on Sept. 19th, and airs on ABC.

| Wow... that's great... I can't believe the Rickman TV role was on HBO cable... which I don't have! Darn.... I guess I'll have to wait till it comes out on video!
I just went on hbo.com ( http://www.hbo.com/films/stlm/video/ ) and here you can see Rickman pictures & also taped interview as well... I think they also have Emma Thompson's there as well (ran out of time) ... The Rickman movie aired in June... I couldn't find a schedule for July.

Cool! I'm gald none of them are nominated against eachother.
I really hope Alan Rickman wins! I never saw John Cleese on Will & Grace, but I do love that show.
I also hope Emma Thompson wins, she's a great actress, and I really like her work.

| Keeper of Mr Tennant's specs Angels in america was shown in the UK about 2 months ago. Emma Thopmson was amazing. it is totaly an adult program.
she was amazing
As for Alan Rickman (swoons) he is always the best thing in almost everything he is in.

Rickman did a pretty nice job in Something the Lord Made. I'll admit that I only watched it because he was in it, but it turned out to be pretty good. Hope he wins. My best of luck goes out to all of them. |
