Lionsgate and A24 Films have announced that The Bling Ring, the loosely-based biopic starring Emma Watson will be available on DVD and Blu-ray beginning September 17 in the U.S. The cover art for the Sofia Coppola film starring the Harry Potter actress can be seen here.

A group of thrill-seeking, fame-obsessed teenagers in Los Angeles use the internet to track celebrities’ whereabouts in order to rob their empty homes in The Bling Ring, arriving on Blu-ray Disc (plus Digital HD UltraViolet) and DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet) September 17th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The film, released theatrically by A24, is based on the celebrated Vanity Fair article The Suspects Wore Louboutins by Nancy Jo Sales. Written and directed by Academy Award® winner Sofia Coppola (Original Screenplay, Lost in Translation, 2003), The Bling Ring stars Israel Broussard (Flipped), Taissa Farmiga (TV’s “American Horror Story”), Emma Watson (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Harry Potter franchise) and Leslie Mann (This is 40), along with newcomers Katie Chang, Claire Julien and Georgia Rock. The film also features Gavin Rossdale and real-life “Bling Ring” victim Paris Hilton.

A group of celebrity-fixated teens living in the suburbs of Los Angeles begin burglarizing the empty homes of the rich and famous by tracking the celebrities’ whereabouts via the internet. The ringleader, Rebecca (Chang) leads the group of misfits including Marc (Broussard), Nicki (Watson), Sam (Farmiga) and Chloe (Julien), on the ultimate heist for designer clothes and jewelry – and what starts out as teenage fun quickly spins out of control.

The Blu-ray Disc and DVD bonus materials include multiple featurettes: a “making of,” an inside look at Paris Hilton’s home led by Paris herself and the story of the real “Bling Ring.” The Bling Ring Blu-ray Disc and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively.
