Thank goodness. I was starting to get worried about her.
She's been taking on WAY too much.

She's got 3 movie projects going on. The Fair Trade fashion profects. And school! There's no way one person can do all of that at once, especially when it's not all in the same country.

It's a smart move to take a semester off from Brown (school can easily be picked back up) and finish her other priorities. Then start working on her degree again after she's got more time.

Her, DanRad, and Tom Felton have all been working overtime since Potter ended.
I don't know where they find the energy.

Sometimes, you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

I think it's great that she's taking time off. she's got a lot going on right now and it must be exhausting even without school, I can only imagine. she's amazing and she's getting far.

I agree Emma had been asking too much of herself. I remember how tired she looked at the BAFTAs. I think she made a smart decision to take a break from her studies. Brown will still be there when she’s ready to return.

As much as I admire Emma for her efforts trying to juggle everything at the same time, I have to say, she has made the right decision. She's going to have LOTS of time to do whatever she wants to do AFTER Potter has ended permanently. To be honest I find it hard to believe that she managed to keep this up untill now I can barely manage my time to study for my exams, and I don't have to promote movies nor design clothes

I agree with what most everyone else is saying. At a school as prestigious as Brown you really have to give it your all. It must be absolute madness trying to juggle all the projects she has from a clothing line and shooting a new movie to being the face of lancôme and promoting Harry Potter. I can't even imagine how stressful it would all be. She has plenty of time and I just hope that at the end of the day she's happy

Much like Hermione in PoA. This is a good decision on her part; I'm amazed she balanced that much at all. But that's part of what makes her so great.

Agree 100% with everyone..Emma is def making a smart move-we all need to take a break every now and again, even for school. I worked part time while going to school and even that was taking on alot. She is a smart girl to realize how hard the demands can be-we support and love ya Emma girl! Yes in the US-most do take a semester off anyway these days-either to travel, work, or change majors. It is actually the US college norm nowdays! Anyway I am excited to see Emma promoting for the last Potter and her new films she will be doing!

Well, I'm glad she's got her responsibilities in order and isn't compromising one for the other. I'm only a full time student and I'm already exhausted. I can only imagine what Emma must have been going through. I know she's bound by her contracts, especially with Harry Potter. Anyways, it's not like Emma to simply give up so I know she's going to finish pursuing that degree no matter what. Good luck to her.

I know the media is going to take a huge bite out of this one and make it seem like she's giving up. When I got home from class the first thing I saw on Yahoo was the headline, "Emma Watson Drops Out of College." I was shocked but once I read the rest, it said she was taking "time off," which is a huge difference. Like I said, they're going to have a field day manipulating this story for hits.

Edit: On the bright side...at least for me, Emma and I will probably be graduating in the same year now seeing as I'm doing an additional year instead of four for my undergrad.

Very smart decision. I'm only in high school myself, but I definitely know what it feels like to have way too much going on all at once. Hopefully now she won't be so stressed out!

good decision emma! i am glad u put what you committed for first such as harry potter on your priorities. i am only a senior in high school so i will know what it will feel like to go to college soon and i can see you probably need a break. i cant wait if u come to a new york premiere this summer :]

Juggling in several continents has to take a serious toll. Better finish one part and then the other.

I am a little confused... Is she taking next semester off? Did she drop her classes now in the middle of the spring? I know she has been busy. She is seriously doing it all. This is definetely her time and thats great (I think). But I was under the impression it was all happening chronologically. And working out perfectly for all involved. She is constantly busy but not having to sacrifice anything, I thought...
School, then she went to London for the awards and the Elle recognition, then she stayed for the fashion week party (which I found weird) it was a whole week after the Elle event, Brown has spring break soon and thats when I thought she would be doing the whole Lancome thing, she did mention shoots and stuff for this month. Then school will be done in May. She will film "Perks" in June. Promote DH2 in July. And then even have August to rest and go back to school in September.
She supposedly has more stuff coming up, I thought she would film something else during the winter break. And so on... I know maybe it is easy for me to say and I do understand it is a lot but she has been doing it for the longest...so we know she can! And maybe thats it...she wants a break, she cant focus on school with everything going on or she is just tired and wants to relax.
Whatever it is; its fine...I just hope it does not affect her in anyway. And everything works out for her the way she plans it and wants it. Best of luck, Emma. Take it easy
