Deathly Hallows Parts I & II confirmed to be featured in 3D

Rumours circulated last week stating that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts I and II would be featured entirely in 3D in conventional theatres (no word yet on IMAX), as well as in standard 2-dimension. The Hollywood Reporter has now received confirmation of the fact:

Quote:

"We are experienced and have been successful in the conversion of 2D to 3D going back to such hits as 'The Polar Express,' select scenes in 'Superman Returns' and the last two Harry Potter films,” Warners domestic distribution boss Dan Fellman said.
Quote:

"We're excited about 3D and look forward to bringing a rich, involving visual experience to audiences around the world," Warners film group president Jeff Robinov said.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.

oh yes! That'll be AWESOME!!!! of course, I hope that they do a better job than they did for HBP...cause HBP was only in 3-D for like...the first 10 minutes? It was kinda a rip-off...so I hope they don't make that mistake again...

I think I wouldn't mind it either way, as long as the film itself is good. But still, this is exciting!

Ill probably only watch 3D in Imax if its for it too(might as well be available for it), but only before I watch it in the traditional 2d in my local theater :D

I think what they should do is release all the movies in 2D, then come back in a few years and use their original recordings to make them 3D. It'd be a total moneyspinner, not to mention absolutely amazing for us fans.

I've never seen 3D, so this'll be great! :D I mean, I've experienced 3D before at places like Disneyland, but never for a movie or in IMAX.

For some reason, ever since this was announced, I kept imagining it was going to be something like Spy-Kids 3D, where it was really corny...I had a really negative feeling about HP being in 3D. I know it's not like that, especially with Polar Express in the mix and after Avatar but I can't get out of that mindset! It's been awhile since I've watched a film in 3D I guess.

veggie_potter 02-03-2010 04:20 AM

Woohoo! :woot: I just saw Avatar in 3D and even the low key parts were freaking amazing!

bonnieginnyfan1 02-03-2010 04:52 AM

Nah, I'll go to normal one first then 3D...I'd rather see it normal then awesome!

But I'm not sure if I'm excited about this...

I think I’ll stick to 2D. As someone who wears glasses it’s not very comfy going to see a 3D film, because you’ve got to wear the 3D glasses on top of your real ones.

But it is a good idea and I’m sure it will go down well.

PattyH. 02-03-2010 07:35 AM

I think the 3D glasses should be harrys world famou glasses
Now that would be amazing!

R-Luchy~W*7*PG~ 02-03-2010 10:46 AM

hpnaiv 02-03-2010 12:50 PM

So the WHOLE film will be in 3D? Or will it be like 5 & 6 where only some parts are?

Patronus Charm 02-03-2010 01:13 PM

Avatar was ground breaking 3D and an exception to every rule...i wish the HPs would all be the same instead of jumping on this bandwagon...
