Daniel Radcliffe has reportedly lined up his next acting project, the crime drama
We Do Not Forget, costarring
Star Trek film series' Zachary Quinto. The movie will be a fictionalized version of a real-life battle that took place between hackers Anonymous and Mexican cartel Los Zetas.
More details about the ordeal and basis for the movie, which is reportedly set to begin production by the end of this year, can be read here. Dan finished his last role in the off-Broadway play
Privacy, and is has no other projects in the pipeline.
Quote:
In reports about the real skirmish, Anonymous reportedly uncovered 25,000 Mexican government emails that had the names of Zeta members and their business information. The organization threatened to make the documents public after one of its members was kidnapped by the cartel.
The decision to take on the powerful cartel riled the members of Anonymous, internally, which is understandable given the level of violence attributed to the group. The cartel hired security experts to track down the hackers, promising death to any whose identity was uncovered. The hacking effort, which was called #OpCartel, was abandoned and some reports wondered how serious it all got.
Dan was also featured in the September issue of August Man Malaysia magazine, including an extensive cover shoot by Karl Simone and interview highlighting his progress from the
Harry Potter series to acting on stage and screen in such projects as
Imperium and
Privacy.
