Casting report for Half-Blood Prince

Despite no director having been announced for Half-Blood Prince (although David Yates is considered likely to return), casting is apparently in progress for the film that's due to start shooting later this summer.

Specfically Icelandic actor Jón Páll Eyjólfsson (another photo can be seen here) is believed to have auditioned for the role of Young Voldemort (although the actor himself would not say which part he was being seen for).

Quote:

“Everything is in a very sensitive stage but it is certainly exciting and it would be great if I get the role,” Eyjólfsson told Fréttabladid.
Quote:

“I have met the people who are behind this film and I have read from the script. At this stage you only get to see parts of the script and there is a lot of secrecy about this whole thing,” Eyjólfsson said.
He has apparently had call-backs and will get a final decision in May as to whether he's cast or not.

Eyjólfsson graduated from a London stage school in 2000 and was at school with Steven Kloves (who has written films 1-4 and 6), who suggested he go for the role.

awesome! That's so cool! I hope David stays as director.....he seems pretty good....

Eclipsed 04-17-2007 03:15 PM

David should definitely stay. He's great.

BrigetteAlisia 04-17-2007 03:32 PM

not the way i imagined Voldemort when he was younger but good luck to him

Cristygen 04-17-2007 03:45 PM

I would've thought Ralph Finnes would play that role, or maybe even the guy that played Tom Riddle in CoS would play him.

Lissydove 04-17-2007 03:47 PM

I don't like his big forehead.

I would rather see Christian Coulson from CoS come back for the role.

Anyway, there's plenty of time before they finalize anything, they could still pick anyone.

Slytherin Fox 04-17-2007 03:48 PM

Actually I can see him playing young Voldemort, though I think the guy from COS was better looking (at least, to me!)

Mrs Felton 04-17-2007 03:50 PM

I hope David does stay. I'd rather Christian Coulson play Young Voldemort, but Jón Páll Eyjólfsson doesn't look too bad for the part, and he must be quite a good actor.

EmmaRiddle 04-17-2007 03:56 PM

Personally I think it's more likely he'd be one of the Gaunts.

yer thats what i would say, i dont think he would be a good young voldemort, but i do think he would be perfect for Morfin.

dancerbookl 04-17-2007 04:16 PM

A Gaunt would be good, I hope that David comes back. he's really good

nicola calvert 04-17-2007 04:18 PM

I thought Coulson would return to play Tom Riddle ...

MadameMalfoy 04-17-2007 05:10 PM

Oh good lord! I got terrified when I saw his iggy forhead! :lmao: Nope, I cant see him portraying Young Lord Voldemort. Not at all. Coulson should come back for the role though. :)

lUnAlOvEgOoD4lIfE 04-17-2007 05:15 PM

he.scared.me! omg. he does NOT look like a youngin Voldemort at all..hopefully they dont pick him. Christian Coulson should come back.! he DOES look like one of the Gaunts tho..

Awsome!!!

danismine 04-17-2007 05:26 PM

I think he should play one of the Gaunts. It would suit him. How do you say this guy's name? So complicated.

Golden Monkey 04-17-2007 05:38 PM

He looks better for one of the Gaunts, not young Voldentmort I loved the guy who played him in CoS, now he was perfect for the role! And that forehead is creepy!

Blackened 04-17-2007 06:28 PM

I sure hope Christian Coulson returns. He was brilliant *daydreams*

And this guy would hmm, prolly be a good choice for one of the Gaunts.

Padie 04-17-2007 06:38 PM

I agree with Chris *nods* Defo not the guy I'd see as young Voldemort :/

JulieAnn 04-17-2007 06:47 PM

This guy they are thinking of casting doesn't look right. He doesn't look as suave and attractive as the young Tom Riddle was described to have looked. I think they should stick with Christian Coulson, who played Tom in Chamber of Secrets, now he is a cold but yet attractive looking guy *wonders if he doesn't want to do it*

Katieluff 04-17-2007 06:48 PM

I thought Jo always wanted just English actors? I think Christian Coulson should return!

D.A Forever 04-17-2007 06:52 PM

I agree with everyone who said Christian Coulson should come back!

starlightangel 04-17-2007 07:52 PM

What happened to Christian Coulson?

panic itsxnicole 04-17-2007 08:13 PM

I really hope that David is the director. And i think that Christian should come back, he seemed great!
